Everytime we come to Cornwall we head hear . Well love it . Back next year

Bitterly disappointed with the pasties I purchased on Saturday, bought 4 to take home to eat. My wife and I had one each on Tuesday to find each pastie had only 1 piece of meat inside each one. Will have to cook some beef and add it to the remaining pasties .

Would never usually review a take away but am writing in the hope that visitors to the area do not think the pasties here are representative of how a proper pasty should be.. Headed for a walk on the beach and bought 2 medium steak. A few bites in we realised our mistake, filling was ok, meat tender but pastry was spongy and soggy, not slightly crisp and flaky. Tried feeding my pastry to our dog but after a mouthfuls even she wasn’t interested. There are much better pasties available

Visited here July 2024 and wanted a proper Cornish pasty, which it was exactly what we received. The pasty was perfect and it was filled to the brim! Honestly can’t fault the quality of the pasty. I’ve had a few down here and this was by far THE BEST!

Pasties were fresh, hot and had a generous amount of steak in them. Tea was decent and they asked if I wanted the teabags left in.

We visited Perranporth, Sunday 19th May and really looked forward having Steak Pasties for lunch. We went to The Cornish Pantry and the pasties looked absolute delicious. HOWEVER, after having found a seat at the front overlooking the beach, and started eating the pasties, both were absolute greasy, dripping constantly. My husband and I literally just had a third of our pasties. Extremely disappointing. Greasy and no flavour.

We had a Cornish pasty and a Sausage roll to fill a gap. Did the trick and kept us going Cornish pasty was the best, Sausage roll like most places quite underwhelming

Ansome pasty shop, just had to buy a box of 10 to bring home to the family!

Lovely large pasty a descent taste not quite as good as some but still lovely. Lovely friendly staff too

I ALWAYS stop here for a pasty whenever i visit Perranporth. Love sitting on the seafront watching the Workd go by eating my pasty. Just a word of warning - it will fill you up for the day 😉

I hate to leave a bad review. But the VEG was hard. The potatoes were barely cooked enough.... The swede was HARD! and the pastry undercooked raw and slimy in the crimp. Really bland and unpleasant all you could taste was onion and Pepper!!! Awful awful pasty Which is a shame as the staff were lovely.

The people were lovely. Even cut our pasty in half. But..... The pasty was very undercooked. The swede was HARD! and the pastry was raw and slimy in the crimp.... And way too peppery.. Really awful. I'm just glad it was a veggie pasty or the meat would've been under cooked too. It's a shame as another 20 minutes would've been cooked and I could've given a fairer review but unfortunately. What we got was badly undercooked and horrible.

Last wrote one of the only 35 reviews on here 3 years ago about how poor the Pasties were. So 3 years on it seemed busy so we thought maybe it had changed hands, give it another try whilst in Peranporth. 🙄 Fail. They were still as poor. There was hardly any steak in them and what there was, was actually in big clumps at both ends of the pastry 🤢 Tough peices. No taste in the rest of the pasty. My Son had the Scone box and said it was "ok". Overpriced due to location. Really won't be returning for third time lucky!

Not in any way like a proper pasty, hardly any meat, no peppery flavour, just a soggy pouch of tasteless vegetables, sat on bench eating with grease dipping from the bottom, managed to get this all over my top and shorts, never had a pasty that dripped!! So disappointing can't imagine they have return customers, just tourist fodder.

Beautiful traditional pasty, the best I have eaten all week ! And delicious sausage roll. Would go again.

Went here today expecting a lovely Cornish pasty. What I got was a soggy pastry filled with clumps of meat (like meatballs) and no seasoning. Don’t go here it a expensive and poor quality. Only trading on unsuspecting tourists.

Absolutely stunning cornish pastys, even went and got 4 before I drove back up north. The staff are lovely. Will definitely doing back to get 1 ( or maybe 10 🤣) when I'm back in October.

Steak pasty was very chewy and just had two lumps of meat surrounded by diced onions. The sausage rolls were volcanic and definitely overcooked to the point where the "meat" turned to mush.

Tried one of the traditional steak pasties and was left incredibly disappointed, the pastry was so thick and overcooked with no flavour to it, the meat and potato was also bland and tasteless, at £4.95 they are massively overpriced for such a poor pasty

Do not have the full English breakfast raw bacon u cooked sausages. Absolutely disgusting 🤢. Phillips bakery in hayle is the best pasties I'm cornwall

The best cornish pasty ive ever had. I would drive back there in a heart beat to have another pasty from here. A must for any one passing. Just dont plan to eat anything later in the day. One pasty will fill you up.

WORLDS BEST VEGAN PASTY I’m quite a pasty connoisseur …They’ve been my favourite food for the 23 years that I’ve lived in Cornwall…I don’t know much, but I know my pasties! Haven’t had one in this particular shop for a while, but today they had some vegan pasties in stock and I was blown away…possibly the best pasty I’ve EVER eaten!! The pastry was amazing, golden, crispy on the outside, soft but firm on the inside, vegetables delicious and perfectly cooked. I’m going to be back very soon for more. Thanks for ruining my diet !

Probably one of the worst Cornish pasties I've had. Dry and very little flavour. Even ginsters are better. The staff were miserable. Only good thing, there was no queue.

Bought a cheese and onion and traditional pasty for a whopping £9.50 and they were awful. We are locals and know what a good pasty should be. The pastry was dreadful and the filling was a tasteless mush. Safe your money.

Sadly for £4.75 for a traditional steak pasty very disappointing. Two very small bits of steak inside. Now reading reviews I see this is not uncommon. Won’t be visiting again.

To be fair it was a Sunday but they had ran out and the service was questionable me and my cousin asked for a sausage and they said they would give it then the the next person ordered a sausage and they gave it to them instead of us and they ran out.

Enjoyed steak and cheese and onion pasties which we ate on the beach. Warm, flaky and crumbly, perfectly fresh. I'm surprised at the low score on here, perhaps when 'out of season' things are different but all we experienced were freshly baked goods, friendly staff and happy full tummies!

Arrived and this was the 1st place I went to for a coffee and a great 😌 pastry 🥮 advised by the friendly staff to try and ooh my god it was lovely. I went nearly everyday for me or the other members in my party wanted something. A huge thanks to the lovely staff xxx

Good food reasonably priced for the area.

We were a bit disappointed with this place. The staff were lovely but our Traditional Cornish Pasty had two tiny bits of steak in it and lot (and I mean a lot!!) of potato. Only saving grace was their pastry had a lovely flavour and the perfect crispy-ness to it!

Best pasties in Perranporth. We come every year and each time we head straight here for our first pasty of our holiday. Queues are usually out the door, but worth the wait.

We have been coming to Perranporth for the past 5 years and these are by far the best pasties! If you go at lunchtime in peak season there is likely to be a queue, but don’t be put off. As the saying goes, good things come to those who wait.

Truly outstanding. I don’t really love pasties either too peppery or the pastry too dry. These I inhaled then brought a box of 10 to take home. Staff was so lovely, you can really tell they love what they do. Thank you!!

Excellent Pasties I always make a special trip to this shop and buy in bulk when in Cornwall.

Bought 2 traditional pasties. Looked good, smelt good, but when got home and started eating the steak was so chewy as to be inedible and the pastry was undercooked and not fit to eat. The rolled seam was almost raw. A total waste of money, and a real shame.

Popped here for a takeaway pastie and coffee whilst spending a day at Perranporth beach. The Cornish pasty and coffee were very nice and went down a treat

Pasties looked hot and so tasty and that’s what they were. We bought a steak and a chicken one. Both filled with large chunks of meat. Just what I’d expect. And very friendly person serving. Recommended by the butcher to go to this pasty shop rather than the bakery. Five stars 🌟

Worst pasty ever! Under cooked pastry crust ,stringy meat. Not even fit for the seagulls. Ended up in the bin

Cheese pasty disgusting, chicken pasty disgusting, steak pasty disgusting. All three inedible and as loath as I am to waste food, got thrown. Huge amounts of baked up, burnt layers of fatty pastry. Some of the top pastry completely hard like biscuit. Tasted like the pasties were several days old and had been rebaked. Hardly any filling and what there was had no flavour. We were travelling or else I would have taken them back. The photos do not do justice to how dreadful they were. Had to stop at services and buy alternatives for lunch. I'd sooner have bought a Ginster's and as someone from Cornwall, I never thought I'd ever say that! Go to any other place in Perranporth for pasty's, or else make sure you sit by a bin. I can't believe how they ever get rated 5 star. Seems a bit odd that they get 1 star or 5 star reviews doesn't it? I begrudged even giving 1 star!

My friend and I, a home grown Cornish man, visited the panty just yesterday. Our pasties was nothing short of sublime. Full of flavour and packed with lots of delicious filling. Highly recommend to anyone!

I'm sorry I never like to do this and leave a bad review but it was so bad,I went in for a pasty and saw they did breakfast pasties and was like ooo ill have one of they,got told its red hot as just come out of tthe oven so I left it for 5-10 mins,when I started to eat it,it was over cooked,burnt the smell was horrible and the pastry tasted like butter or the fat the pastryis made of ,sorry I couldn't even eat it if I was still in Perranporth when I started it I would of taken it back it was edible just look at the pics.will never go back there again .

Shared a large traditional steak pasty at the weekend. Speaking as a Cornishman, this was one of the finest pasties I've had in a very long time. Thank you! Will definitely be getting a pasty from here again when I can! Not sure what was going on for these pasties to get terrible reviews from earlier this year, maybe there were ingredient supply issues, or the recipe has been improved, or something, because the pasty I had was clearly very different to the ones that caused negative reviews.

It appears looking on people's reviews this place is hit or miss. But for us it was a massive hit, great value for money due to the size of pasties. The filling was delicious and well seasoned, you do get massive chunks of meat which maybe could do with been cut down in size so it is more edible. Pastry was on point and certainly better than what we've had from previous traditional pasty companies like Warren's bakery

We bought 2 of the Chicken Pasty's, they were really nice , you will not need any thing else to eat that day ,very filling!

Whilst the pastry was ok, the filling was atrocious. Lots of hard, undercooked vegetables. Three pieces of cheewy, grisly meat - totally inedible. Threw half the nasty in the bin.

We grabbed a pasty a few times from here. There are a good selection of fillings, including a vegan one, and the pasties were reasonably priced and always seemed to be freshly cooked.

After seeing some bad reviews, I thought to myself….I want to try these pasty’s because for £3.95 and the terrible reviews? can these pasty’s possibly be this awful? No, they were bloody lovely. Yes they could do with a little more meat in but look at the size of them!! If these had the amount of meat desired by so many bad reviewer I would guess you could be priced around the £7 for one & would you want to pay £7 for a pasty. We had the original & chicken. They were that big we was full all day long. My body doesn’t like wheat & gluten very much but I though to myself, these look that good that I will risk the bellyache. I didn’t get bellyache #Bonus Take no notice of these bad reviews below. The shop, it’s pasty’s & staff were all great. The price was very good.

These were the worst pasties I’ve ever eaten, and I’ve eaten a lot; all over devon and Cornwall. Half raw vegetables and lumped grisly meat I bought 6 for my family and after one or two bites, they all ended up in the bin. Oggy oggy in Newquay were good though.

Ordered two traditional Cornish pasties as they smelt delicious and the queue was long, horrible fatty beef two pieces in each. Veg was good but threw the beef away. Won’t be going back soon.

Excellent traditional pasties, nicely seasoned with good chunks of tender meat and plenty of veg. Pastry held together well and made it survive the walk from st. Agnes back to perranporth

Purchased pasties.. and honestly myself and family found them very disappointing and basically filled with vegetables which were tasteless and hard.. with a splat of chewy meat in the middle which was supposed to be steak? Would not recommend!! This shop does not reflect on what a true pastie should taste like!

Contents of the steak pasty were about 90% potato / swede topped off with 2 bits of grisly over cooked 'meat'. The only good thing was that it was piping hot.

Makers of one of the best Cornish Pasties I have tasted and I have had quite a few Pasties. Always come home with one or two boxes to keep my going (10 per box). Just wish they had a shop near me.

The pasties here were very tasty, with large lumps of beef in the traditional ones. A member of the family had a Cheese & Onion and it was absolutely delicious. A good place for an authentic pasty

Below average pasties, little stock. They cater to the passing tourists, but really give a poor example of what Cornish Pasties should be. They had soggy pastry, bland filling, 3 chunks of meat in a whole pasty, pale exterior.

Vegetables were hard no seasoning the steak was grisly and only 2 chunks in pasty sorry not a nice pasty didn't even eat half of it .

The pasties here are consistently tasteless soggy bags of undercooked vegetable cubes with depressingly scrawny chunks of beef dashed in. The staff are lovely and the other stuff (ie: sausage rolls) they sell is far better. Please improve your pasties, you'll make a lot of money off me if you do

If you like cardboard and meat you need a chainsaw to cut then buy a pastie from here. Don't think that all Cornish pasties or sausage rolls taste like they have been kicked round the car park. There are some proper Cornish pasty shops around...

Every time we come to Perranporth, we know what we are getting. Superb pasties, great staff. Why we keep coming back time and time again.

Amazing I had the steak and veg pasty and this tasted like nothing I’ve experienced. Cooked To perfection and lots of steak and so tasty. The lady who served us today was lovely and polite and I will be visiting here again!!! Very very soon

Not the real taste of Cornwall. No flavour, very little filling apart from 4 chunks of meat. Shocking. Will stick with traditional pasties not the mass produced tourist ones.

Worst pasty I have ever had seriously! Tastless and only had the 3 large clumps of stuck together meat as shown in whole pasty. If I could score a minus I would! Just mugging off hungry tourists off the beach. Go elsewhere. The takeaway scone...

Visited last week, had 7 pasties in different independent pasty shops in 7 different towns/villages. The traditional steak one we had here was hands down the pasty we've ever had. Absolutely delicious. If it wasn't a five hour drive for us, we would be visiting every week.

Nice crisp pastry, excellent meat content, well seasoned. Best Pasty we tried while visiting Cornwall. If it wasn't a five hour drive, we would be back weekly.

Grabbed two large traditional pasties and a sausage roll. Sausage roll was fine. Pasties were an exercise in how not to make a pasty and fill up unsuspecting northern tourists used to Greggs, chips and stodgy food. Undercooked pastry, totally tasteless filling lacking swede, pepper,...
