Used to be well-presented great home cooked food and was always busy. Now just serves mediocre snacks on paper plates. Pathetically small portions. The only thing that wasn’t microscopic was the bill! Hardly surprising that it’s so empty these days.😔

Staff very pleasant, service good, nice venue. Soup disappointing, the consistancy and depth of flavour of baby food, served in a cardboard cup (not that big) with a plastic teaspoon to tackle it. It was accompanied by a very large chunk of cold bread and butter which was unspreadable as straight from the fridge. It was impossible to spread on the crumbly scone. It was good bread but would have been much improved by warming. However, the cake (Paradise or Tropical Slice???) was wonderful. Quite a pricey experience especially given the negative part of the visit.

Read such a lot of bad reviews that I went in trepidation! But it's fine! It is a garden centre not fine dining! We enjoyed our cuppa and tea cake and the staff were lovely. Lots of tables inside and out. We sat outside in November! A little pricey maybe but normal garden centre prices. No complaints here.

Lovely quiet location - excellent customer service, and lovely coffee and great tasting cake. Can only sit outside at the moment due to Covid19 but a tucked away location - lets support our independent coffee shops!

Went here as open on a Sunday and ‘dog friendly’ although we had to sit outside...in December. Also had minimum card spend of £5 so ordered a large coffee with tea cake. Had to spend extra 50p on jan to make the price. But the coffee was the same size as a medium. All a bit mediocre. But we didn’t try the main food as all was on offer at the time was cake and tea cakes.

Had a lovely bacon sandwich here! The dogs are welcome and the staff are lovely,.Only a small choice of sandwiches 3 or 4, and no quiche or toasties but what you do get is very tasty and is just right for us. (Also in a lovely spot to walk the dogs).Dogs unfortunately not allowed inside but during the spring and summer its been great, there is a covered area in case of rain.

My very first time here, really friendly staff, very clean. Coffee was lovely and hot and the marmite and cheese scone delicious, my friend had a fruit scone and said she would recommend to anyone. Sat outside so relaxed. Definitely will return.

First visit since refurb. Noticed smartened up lavatories but maybe that was before. Friendly and dog welcoming with a bit of shelter outside. Prices seem to have crept up but we had an enjoyable snack before walking the dog and seasonal purchases in the nursery.

Myself and my partner have visited the tea rooms several times, and find it to have a very friendly atmosphere, and to be clean and tidy...We are both on a restricted gluten free diet, and find the staff are very knowledgeable, also the menu has many options for us to choose from, including sandwiches, quiche and cakes which are all homemade to a very high standard...The tea room is next to a lovely garden centre with ample parking surrounded by beautiful open moorland with wild ponies...If you are passing I highly recommend a visit

Popped in for elevenses after visiting Long Ash Nurseries. Very smart, having only recently completed a refurbishment, and the toilets are absolutely spotless. Really busy as it was a lovely sunny morning, The cafe was all but full, one table for two vacant and lots of dogs and their walkers outside on the terrace. Homemade Coffee Cake was absolutely scrumptious as were the toasted teacakes. If you are strolling over the the downs, walk toward Long Ash for delightful refreshments.

Came in today. High metal fence blocking off the cafe, garden and part of car park. Not even a vague estimate of when it will reopen. A bit gloomy. Places like this are quite important on chill drizzly autumn days.

A really fabulous cafe with home made cakes, lovely soups, great coffee and lovely lunches. Went yesterday and there was beautiful Christmas Tree, plenty of staff - so service was quick and efficient. This is the perfect place to come after a dog walk or bike ride or just to browse the garden centre next door. The outside space is lovely in the Summer surrounded by flowers. It does get busy as it is really popular but it is not somewhere you go for fast food it is a place to linger or chat. Also very accessible if you have elderly friends or relatives.

My friend and I met for lunch. We opted for a coffee first as we were early, waited 20 minutes for it to arrive so decided to order lunch at once as there was a very slow moving queue. She stood in the line of about 12 people for over 20minutes before she got to order our meal, several people walked out, fed up with waiting. I took the opportunity to watch what was going on to cause the hold up, as I was a caterer in a previous life. The whole set up is totally disorganised, the woman on the till not only taking orders but making trays of drinks and serving tables too, with other staff just bringing out meals. No wonder the wait was so long. Keep that person on the till at all times to get the queue down, and get the rest of the staff to serve the meals and drinks. Once ordered our meal took another 25 minutes to appear. We only ordered jacket potatoes for goodness sake. Very expensive too.

Tuve la casa jamón cocido, que era sin duda caseras y generosamente tallada. Mi esposa tenía quiche, que de nuevo era casero y dijo que era uno de los mejores que he comido. quiches

We often walk our dog along the moor just up the road. We also find that the garden centre's practical and friendly approach, and the interesting range of stock brings us in here several times a year. The tea shop is pleasant on fine days, the staff quite helpful. The range of food is pretty routine and the prices on the high side of average but when it's warm outside and they have space it's an OK spot to take a break. No views except into the car park.

Took my two boys here (27th Sept), plus two dogs. Had a savoury tea (2 cheese scones, plus cheese, chutney and earl grey tea). Boys had drinks and icecreams. Not the first time that we had been there. Always consistently good. Chose to eat outside due to the lovely weather. Went inside to order and unfortunately smelled rather unpleasant (best described as the smell of old people).

Had lunch today at Moor T - busier in there than in the whole garden centre! But it is February I suppose. Delicious baked potato for lunch, and my friend had the most amazing quiche! Two varieties of home made soup with huge hunks of bread.... The choice was very difficult. Staff lovely and friendly. Can't wait for better weather to be able to sit outside with the dogs. Perfect place to begin or end a moorland walk, with views across Dartmoor to die for!

we often go to this cafe, mostly as a cake and coffee stop during a cycle ride or out walking. The coffee is good, the cakes are lovely and it is such a nice setting. During the good weather it is perfect for sitting outside surrounded by lovely artistically planted out pots, a good inspiration for going into the garden centre to buy some of their quality plants. There are interesting goodies to buy too, chutneys, jams, pates and biscuits etc and lovely pictures by a local artist. The staff are very pleasant and I cannot fault the whole experience.

We have been to Long Ash several times and really like the garden centre. The cafe has a dog friendly outside area BUT on none of the websites does it tell you that the cafe is not open on a Monday (as at 7/6/2014) so best to ring first to check in any case if you don't want to be disappointed. Great choice of plants and reasonably priced.

I have visited this wonderful little resting place at least 3 times, with two lovely friends and a lovely Auntie. Each time the welcome was warm and genuine, the soup and home made bread absolutely delicious (and v generous), the quiche was melt in the mouth, and the lightest of pastries (Mary Berry would have been proud) and a scrumptious coffee and walnut cake. You can sit inside surrounded by local delicacies, outside amongst luscious plants, and loos clean. Before or after a walk, this place is a delight.

Despite living less than five minute's drive away, discovering Moor T at Long Ash garden centre was a complete surprise - is this the least advertised establishment in the western world? But what a delight - a pleasant building with a lovely sunny patio area, warm welcome and delicious food. Sumptuous cakes and coffee too - and plenty of magazines to browse. Lovely local artwork on the walls, preserves and an assortment of other treats for sale. Highly recommended - will undoubtedly become a regular haunt for us.

Moor t @ long ash is a hidden gem, mainly frequented by locals and walkers passing by on a stroll across the moors. The tea room is located in a building within the grounds of the garden centre. The tea room offers a range of light lunches such as sandwiches/baguettes with a good choice of fillings. The tea room also does great coffee and a range of tasty home made cakes. I have visited this tea room many times and always enjoyed my food. The tea room has some outdoor seating which is great on a nice sunny day and indoor seating for those rainy cold days. The tea room sells an offering of locally sourced chutneys and jams ideal if you want to purchase a gift for someone. I would recommend the tea room if your looking for somewhere nice to go for a coffee and cake or a lunch.
