Lovely food but no full English. Just lighter breakfast options. But lovely pastries. Went on a Sunday morning. Very short staffed.

We have been here many times for coffee and cake and most of the time the cakes seem to be reasonably fresh. Today i had a very dry sponge Mocha cake. Also, whilst eating my cake i watched a member of staff blow his nose in to a tissue 3 or 4 times and without even a thought to washing his hands went straight over to the dresser to get a cake plate to serve a piece of cake to a customer. I think that is disgusting and shows a lack of hygiene which in this day and age is not acceptable.

When I visited with the family extremely rude owners who did not take criticism well. In addition, they spoke to a young staff member poorly, causing the poor waitress to cry. This is unacceptable behavior in any workplace and can create a hostile environment for employees and customers alike. Moreover, the food was awful, which is disappointing for any restaurant. The chef/owner made you feel threatened, which is not only unprofessional but can also be frightening. It's understandable that you would not want to return to this restaurant after such an experience. Overall, it's important for any business to treat their customers and employees with respect and professionalism. Unfortunately, this restaurant failed to provide either, and as a result, they have lost a potential customer.

Terrible service. Just a bunch of teenagers with no training AT All! Gin And tonic … no lemon… shrug of shoulders when requested. Overpriced, over cooked , not fresh and really shocking attitude for a time of year when they should be encouraging the scarce amount of customers in Bourton

Great views, just as the title suggests. But we didn’t stay to eat. Very poor menu, and my wife being Coeliac, her choice was bread or a brownie! Not even the choice of a cream tea.

We stopped for lunch, and had great cheese toastie, carrot cake and coffee/tea. But no crisps ? Theres a supermarket the other side of the wall, don't even need to go outdoors. But apart from that, very nice, thanks.

I tried to order tea and scones at Knoll House restaurant today but there was no one who seemed to want to serve us. We asked at reception after waiting for ages at the bar for someone and was told to ring the bell. We eventually found the bell which was a door bell and not easy to see and after waiting again for an age, no one came. We rung the bell for a second time and stood waiting discussing what we should do when a very harassed waitress arrived carrying a full tray. When I asked if we could order she was unapologetic and unpleasant and told us she was unsure if we could have scones because they had been busy with a table of 22. I asked her to check to see and while standing there still waiting I felt the whole experience was now so awful that I didn’t want to stay and spend my money here. This was supposed to be a special treat for a friend and I that don’t see each other often and instead it felt like we were a massive inconvenience and completely unwelcome. I know staffing is difficult and expensive these days but treating people that have come in wanting to spend there money with you like that is appalling. We decided to leave and as we left we told the member of staff on reception that we were leaving because the waitress was rude and we couldn’t get served and even then no apology was given, no attempt to retain us as customers and seemly no concern that two paying customers were leaving and taking there money elsewhere. We had a lovely visit in a very fine cafe in Swanage and will not return to Knoll House and judging by the truly awful service we had today, no doubt this feedback will be ignored.

My family and I used to go regularly for lunch , lovely haddock and chip meal , £15 but well worth it . Now new owners the food is terrible, £15 for a piece of frozen fish you can get at Iceland for £5 for 4 pieces and a handful of chips , flat beer not much better . It’s such a shame , the only local pub and will probably be shut down soon , had such high hopes , what a disappointment

We was on a pub tour of the area and passed this on a way to another pub and thought “oh this looks quaint” sometimes the most impromptu pubs are the best and this one certainly is! Four ales were on draft we opted for the salcombe gold Which was excellently kept. I loved the laid back atmosphere with dog friendly sofas. They have a beautiful boxer dog named boots who greets you on arrival who is loving in nature with people and dogs. Very chilled and dog friendly and I will certainly visit again and stay for longer when I’m next in the area. Whatpub online does not hype this place is much as it should.

Amazing level of service from one of the ladies at The Ridge Café. I want to thank the member of staff who offered and brought out to the car park, our order to me and my two rescue dogs, one of which, new to us, is very nervous following traumatic times in recent years. It was raining but this lady absolutely wanted to do it, and the dogs were able to meet her - one was enthusiastic and the new boy just looked puzzled, probably wondering who was so kind to bring out this meal to us. It was great, gentle, exposure for ‘new boy’ and a highlight for me too. I’m sorry that I don’t have the lady’s name but she was so good, thank you!
