First time using this chip shop, and after say they staff was lovely and 100% for all of the food we bought will definitely be using this place again nice clean and friendly staff they worked well as a team thank you all and we will be back 😀 👍

I bought fish, chips, sausage in batter, curry sauce and a can of coke, the chips didn’t taste very fresh, by midnight that I was throwing up violently it went all over my carpet, in my bathroom sink and in my toilet , I was poorly untill Sunday late that night, I rang they said maybe you had sickness bug I said I am healthy I eat healthy all week and I exercise a lot, they said to come in get refund so I did and they gave me £10.20 I said I am sure I paid more than that they said I don’t think so I actually paid £11.75 as I checked my bank statement when I got home as I had no internet when I got into my car to check on my phone.

Good service average food.. couldn't find an unbelmished chip. Black brown or hollow. Family wouldn't eat. Curry sauce tastes like the Chinese very thick and concentrated.

Stopped off after visiting the Bodmin area. The fish and chip shop was as to be expected. The service was quite slow, but food enjoyable.

Don't bother. This place is extortionate pricing for very very average food. The chips are about the only nice thing. We have fish and sausages all very oily, bland and way too much batter.

Visited on a Saturday early evening and wasn’t busy at all. Still had to wait 15 minutes for food which is absolutely fine, means it will be freshly cooked. The chips were absolutely lovely, but sadly that’s all that was lovely. The battered sausage was in thick Chinese style chicken ball batter which was really not tasty. The curry sauce was also very bland and tasted more like the curry sauce from a Chinese.

Usually we go to a different fish and chip shop down the road however that one was queued out the door so thought we would go here for a change. Wish i waited at the other one as im sure i would have got my food quicker. I only ordered 1 portion of cod and chips and waited 20 minutes! For a Saturday night and having 4 staff working was pretty poor. Im assuming they cook the food per order so you would expect it would be worth the wait however i think in the end they realise they are taking bloody ages so rush it and the batter is then soggy and sopping in oil. Not good!

Never in my life have I had such dreadful fish! The batter was soggy Curry sauce gelatinous! Chips Luke warm A complete and utter waste of my money!

Passing through we were looking for fish & chips and were directed here. Good sized portions and not greasy. When asked about gluten free was surprised to be told yes available. Helpful and courteous assistant. You can only say what you find so from my experience don’t understand some of the previous reports.

Absolutely shocking! Cannot even cook a battered sausage! Not a crispy bit of batter anywhere! as Gorden would say Ffing rawww!

Great fish and chip shop just a short walk from my house, so buy there a couple of times a month sometimes more. Always cooked fresh to order and we have always been happy with our fish and chips

Just had fish and chips from this place the food was disgusting. The chips were awful, dry and some of mine were not cooked. The fish there are no words. I’d say this fish is frozen worse fish I’ve ever had. Don’t waste your time and money at this place. I definitely won’t be going again. 🤮

Absolutely terrible & certainly not value for money!!! Shocking portion size, barely enough to feed my 5 year old child although it cost enough! I would not recommend and will not be returning.

Place is a bit hit and miss. I've had visits with undercooked batter, visits with undercooked fish and visits with great food. Never reassured by driving past lunchtimes and evenings and all the staff outside having a smoke. Food hygiene rating 2/5 not surprising with staff in uniform willing to smoke outside.

Looked at the reviews and thought they looked good. Ordered fish and chip, curry sauce and mushy peas. The fish was cooked from scratch, and I thought looks promising. However when I found that the fish bore no resemblance to haddock ( which I had ordered). Would not go again.

Our nearest fish and chip shop that has variable quality to say the least. Recently the fish has been overcooked with bulletproof batter. As for the inedible chips....

Niall Harris. An employee of many words - literally. So the story started by me accidentally crashing into the front entrance of college lane by accident as the brakes are a bit stiff in my Ford Fiesta. Anyway, an employee, known as Niall Harris comes out screaming at me saying I could have killed Lexie and Roo who were vibing in the shop at the time. So I say, right shut the **** up and let me have some chips. So he takes my order, which I like to call the classic pieface order - 5 bags of chips, 3 battered coda and an extra bit of batter on the side. He aggressively produces the order and when I open the extravaganza I see a massive skin tag laying there. I lob it at him and to this day he still contains a skin tag in his hair.

The lady behind the counter was so rude and they weren’t sure if they could even give me chips even though it was 10 minutes until close. The chicken burger my friend had was inedible, rock solid dry and was just all round gross.

Fresh and well cooked. Lovely chips. Service can be slow but worth the wait. Parking outside. They also do weird things like deep fried lime jaffa cakes (not sampled!)

Avoid this fish and chip shop at all costs. The people are rude and have no concept of organisation, the food is grim. Only about 50% of our chips were edible, the other 50% were like spud bullets. My chicken burger was left in the hot counter, with lettuce in it, for an age. The lettuce went brown and slimey which was off putting to say the least. The staff gave the wrong orders to the wrong people, and were quite offensive to a poor chap who's dinner had been given away, not sorry as you'd expect them to be! We will never eat from here again.

We went to get fish and chips as a takeaway drove into the car park at 8.40 pm the people behind the counter noticed we had pulled in and was making our way towards the entrance,After glaring at us they immediately turned the open sign off, and switched off the main shop lights , they were openly chatting amongst themselves and what was obviously someone they knew, yes the shop opening time was 9.00 pm so we still had 20 minutes, on returning home we wrote an email of complaint, the vendor replied that they would investigate and contact us with their findings, 1 month on still waiting, would I go back NO would I recommend NO not withmanagement and staff attitude like that , neither clearly have no interest in their customers

Service is a little slow the food is outstanding and there is dandruff coming from one of the employees greasy heads

If you want fish and chips (not those old soggy ones served elsewhere) then this is the place to go. Everything is cooked to order NOT in advance. Okay so you have to wait a few minutes while your meal cooks but it is so well worth it. Great service by friendly helpful knowledgeable staff. if you need gluten free then they have it.

Great little chippy they now do gluten free so great treat for my hubby.all cooked fresh to order warm friendly staff.

Probably the best fish & chips in bodmin but they are on the pricy side and because they cook fresh their does tend to be a wait for your order but all good things come to those who wait.

We go here every month for a naughty takeaway. As a family of three...child doesnt eat alot....we find one large cod and chips does all three of us...for around £9 its a good takeaway option and we are always pleased with the quality and size of the cod. Chips are good and chunky too.

If you like soggy batter and chips you have to microwave when your back home then go for take out here. Our order was sat under hot lamps for 15 mins while other people were served ahead of us who ordered after us. There are two of the f&c; shops in Bodmin, go to one of these instead.

Crispy batter, tasty fresh fish and accompanying peas and curry were well above average. All were reasonably priced and cooked to order. Only found this place through TripAdvisor and would recommend a visit.

Enjoyable fish and chips after a day at the beach. Reasonable price, but not the best batter ive had in bodmin! And no haddock was available that day

We travelled along the main road and spotted an A board with fish and chips on it. We followed and parked right beside the premises. I went in and ordered two haddock and chips, walked down with Diet Coke. They were just making fresh chips so I had to wait a short time. The chips were lovely made with new potatoes and the fish very white with good crispy batter. They were really busy all the time we were at the premises. Great meal on the go.

If there's more than one person in there don't bother, they can't cope. Ridiculous! As for the quality it debatable, skinny chips and not great wuality

We have always had delicious food from here, we went to another place in bodmin once and it was so disappointing that I wouldn't ever waste my money again. It's great value here and tastes soooo good! The staff are always really friendly!

Found it by chance hen on holiday. Very friendly service, everything cooked fresh and cracking fish and chips. Worth a detour. Take-away ony.

Very good fish & chips in a light batter. Gluten free batter available on request. Everything was cooked to order so hot and not greasy.

To start off. They have gone slightly downhill in the last year or two. Previously the portion were monster and to a unreal standard. Not sure if new orders or just cut backs but portions are little more normal now. Prices have increased so not ideal. Food wise. Food is still good and tasty. A little greasy but doesn't put me off. Nice and tasty. Very good menu to choose from. Including deep fried mars bar. Yum. Food is good freshly. Rarely do you walk out In seconds with kept warm chips. Much better when they are fresh. And they are. Staff do seem slow at times but are usually very polite and effective. Been using the chippy for years and probably will continue to. Avery good chippy and handy location. Would highly recommend going.

We were hungry after a morning's walking and happened to spot this chippy as we drove by..the kids were obviously on lunch break and it was busy..but well worth the short wait..........good competitive prices and well above average quality.we had cod and chips......portion was a good size which was pleasing as we were very hungry. Have put this on our sat nav for next time we are in the area.

Popped into this chippy last night, got ignored by 2 members of staff whilst waiting to order, after 10 mins got grunted at by the fryer but still unable to order, left and went to KFC for prompt friendly service.

Hi well what can I say very disappointed with the fish and chips which the fish was cold and so was the chips worse I have had from here

Tried it out a few times and always have fish, chips and mushy peas. Freshly cooked fish and chips which looked good but just tasted of nothing. My toddler usually gobbles fish, chips and peas from golden fry or Rick steins but would barely eat it from here and I wasn't enamoured either. The pickled onions were soft too.

Really tasty, freshly cooked fish and chips while you wait, worth a visit, we got there at about 7 in the evening and it was not too busy but I would imagine a popular chippy with the locals and teatime

Recently came here. The service was quick and food lovely. A great choice on menu and sat in the new seating area.

I've given this oka w several attempts the chips always taste fishy but burgers and delicious and prices reasonable. However it always takes soo long and is worse when quiet the record was 45 mins for a small portion of chips for my hungry fidgety daughter... As I was 3rd in line to 2 x massive orders. Why not chuck us the chips and let us go!?!?. Cant face it

The food was quickly cooked and fresh. When we got back to Lostwithiel it was still warm and was value for money!

Quite a vast choice of regular take away menu but most remarkable was the gluten free option, which my friend told me was a fabulous treat.Off the main streets of Bodmin but worth the extra drive for the much recommended fish n chips, and quick& friendly service.

Best fish and chip shop in Bodmin! The gluten free batter means I can enjoy the lovey battered fish! Fish cakes are the best I've tasted too! And they sell pizza which is a bonus!! Staff are lovely, friendly and attentive!

I work near there food is good so we get lunch here regular staff are helpful you can phone your order good all round and fair priced

A regular haunt of ours and the fish never disappoints. Always cooked to order so fresh and hot. Chips not always good but outweighed by the quality of the fish.

This is where I go to get delicious fish in the best batter in Bodmin ! I love the fact they also have proper mushy peas, none of that runny artificially coloured bland stuff. The staff are well trained and the premises clean and tidy. I just wish I'd discovered it earlier.

All cooked to order - fresh and no grease but lots of flavour. Great service - would def recommend. They offer a good menu variety including gluten free batter.

great take out fish n chips. they do charge for the sauces though, so buy your tartar at ASDA and bring home your fish n chips to enjoy.prices were reasonable, portions were large, and the fish was perfect!

Popped in to collect some lunch. Fish was specially cooked & was fine. But the chips were barely golden & went cold very quickly; the mushy peas were barely warm despite being in an insulated polystyrene cup.Fancy cardboard boxes but contents very average.Certainly not as good as Welcome Stranger at Lanivet.

It ain't bad but could be better. Quite recently re-opened under new management so hopefully will improve.

Given there are a lot of fish and chip places which do a good takeaway, giving College Lane an excellent is high praise.The fish is white, flaky and tasty. The batter is crisp and not too greasy and the chips are just how you'd want chippy chips to be.We tend to have a large fish and chips between two of us and I'm someone who doesn't like to skimp on a meal. It's good value, although I can't say off the top of my head how much fish and chips costs. Get a takeaway and head down to Respryn or Cardinam. Can't beat it.

We had fish and chips recently and although the chips wasn't as nice as our previous visit the fish was again delicious, large portion with crispy batter. Reasonably priced and being able to park right outside easily is good.

Excellent fish and chips at a reasonable price, what else can you ask for. Parking is generally OK, but there are a limited number of spaces and when I was here this time a lazy inconsiderate driver parked in the middle blocking cars in even though there were spare spaces!

This place re opened and most of the staff come from the costcutter next door. They are so nice and friendly and the food I had was the best I have had for years. I had cod and chips , yum yum yum and my son had a pizza, he finished in all, say no more. Well done
