We are supporting this independent coffee shop by popping in for our weekly fix of superb coffee and in house bakes. Listen to albums from a huge selection as we relax in a friendly atmosphere.

I went there with my young daughter 2years old and there was such a warm greeting as we walked through the door, there was a lovely little play area full of variety of toys and books for her to play with and even a television. There was a variety of hot drinks and mlthe menu looked appealing. Clean and bright space, would definitely recommend. I had a lovely experience. Thank you

After finding the info for this place on trip advisor, we visited for dinner. Unfortunately they no longer do food. We stayed for a drink, which was very reasonable. The staff were very polite, and pointed us in the direction of a restaurant.

Very friendly service. I had a couple of drinks (lovely coffee), and a beef brisket and mozzarella toastie at a leisurely pace. The eighties tunes playing softly in the background were perfect as I did some work. A lovely view of the harbour if you sit by the window, and there’s seating outside too.

The food is great, however been there 6 times well within their opening hours to find them closed (closed at 1142 on Friday). Given up going there now - shame ☹️

Remember all of those articles about British cuisine having been ‘reborn’? A week of traveling around the UK might have suggested that this was misinformation. A series of boring, overpriced, badly prepared and served meals. And then you turn up at the Elephant. The first hurdle is the various menus that are on offer. No doubt in the future AI will enable you to analyze which choice provides the best value opportunity. Until then you are on your own. The simplest choice would be the 3 course menu. Not a huge amount of choice but excellent fare. The wine list - in particular by the glass - puts most others to shame. The food preparation is excellent, the serving staff professional. It doesn’t take long to realize that you are in a rather special place and that you have travelled outside of current day Torquay restaurants in your very own culinary Tardis. The cost for my rather boozy lunch? A hundred pounds. Was it worth it? Yes.

Well, it was almost Christmas so we went for a festive meal, I think 'let it snow, let it snow' was taken to the extreme in this pub. Upon arrival things seemed to be going well, we were served promptly and the drinks were fine. When it came to ordering food, we had to wait whilst some drunk lady (who turned out to be the Manager) continued her conversation with a child at the other end of the bar. So we eventually ordered and the price was wrong which I questioned and was told it was an error on there side but as a gesture of goodwill they'd honor the price. Sorry, but it was YOUR error, not mine, no gesture of goodwill was needed. At this point the Manager got slightly aggressive and made me feel uncomfortable, so I just paid the bill and returned to my table. The food arrived and was sadly as expected from the previous service we had encountered. The steak was tough like it had been microwaved, the chips were soggy it was just not something you'd expect from a pub. The lasagne was watered down and runny, with no sign of any meat. Whilst suffering this, we watched what was going on around us and we were shocked. It was like a childrens playground but with adults ! The Manager lady was either drunk or tired, eyes wide open like they were about to pop out, the other guests were high as a kite playing pool and taking over the pub. Marstons pubs are generally decent, this one needs looking into.

Beautiful food and great service but such tiny portions. Six courses were served in dolls house sized cups, bottles and plates. The wine we tried was very very nice and the food was cooked to perfection but I went home and made a sandwich.
