Wonderful place, delicious food, beautiful sea view. Very attentive and friendly staff with a good mood and a sincere smile. If you have time and desire to spend time with good emotions, then you definitely need to come here. A pleasant atmosphere is provided by calm and beautiful music. The dish "Fish and chips" surprised me. I have tasted it a lot in different establishments and it was here that it tasted best. Fresh fish that has a good taste, French fries do not have excess oil. A dessert with a beautiful presentation will give a romantic smile and good vibes. Thank you to this restaurant and the responsive and kind people who work there. I recommend visiting this beautiful place.

Fantastic food excellent service

We were visiting the place from Bristol and we were absolutely in shock at how the waitress was rude to us. The middle-aged gentleman was the waitress and kept looking down on us. Making faces like we won’t be long there. What’s wrong with people? Well dressed and we do speak English too.

I love eating here in my local town buuut....as a man when I come out of the cubical and am face by 3 females looking at me as though I'm a pervert that where I draw the line. I had a discussion with one of the ladies and then all three chimed in and agreed. 2 said they will never come back. So... sort your toilets out Pier Point !!!!!!

This restaurant is very modern and stylish. Unfortunately, dogs are only allowed outside, which didn’t seem like a great option on a sunny but very cold day. However, the outdoor heaters and well-arranged tables made our visit comfortable and enjoyable. The food was excellent—especially the fish and chips, which were probably the best I’ve ever had. Simply delicious! I would definitely come back.

A lovely sunny Torquay day was spent wandering the harbour plus a walk along the new Piazza style harbour frontage. Very enjoyable. We stopped at the Pier Point for lunch , welcomed in by the lovely Cristina. Ordered fish and chips plus a calamari side dish. All in all a nice dining experience in a quality restaurant. We will definitely return ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Delighted to have a vegan option that wasn't chips - sweet potato soup, absolutely delicious! Gluten free options went down very well too. Great atmosphere, very clean and really friendly, helpful staff.

Whilst visiting Torquay, we have visited the pier point restaurant a few times, food was delicious, staff so friendly and polite, food came out quickly and piping hot, would recommend this place.

Asked for take away large chips terribly small portion and expensive. Try the Great British fish and chips at the harbour great portions nice staff and a lot cheaper.

Stopped in for a bite of lunch. I can honestly say it one of the best scampi dinners I’ve had in a long long time.

Customers can often be seen queuing to enter the restaurant , especially during the summer, (you can watch some amazing sunsets), during busy periods most of the 'covers are full'.. Customers are given the option of booking a table in advance.. You can sit inside/outside, seating outside is basic, you don't get a cushion, during stormy weather out of season the eatery might be closed, the wind really blows at times and you can watch the huge waves breaking over the sea walls, up and over Corbyn's Head Sea Cliff, over the seawall at Livermead, waves can be higher than double decker buses, which use the caostal road.. The ambient 'red / orange lighting' of this establishment can be seen from across 'the bay' during the evening time at Brixham Pier Light House, 5 miles distance.. -------------------------------------- Also offering a Fish + Chip Takeaway, economy portions are offered should you have a small appetite / have a keen budget.. Popped in as was in the area and fancied some fish and chips this place came up and we were not disappointed. Best we have both had in a while would definitely come again and bring the kids next time.

Visiting from South Wales for the day. Decided to treat myself to fish and chips from their fish shop. So glad I did was it absolutely gorgeous. Will definitely have it again. The lady serving was lovely so helpful she saw me on my crutch so she put the salt and vinegar on for me and wrapped it all up and put it safe in a bag so I wouldn’t drop it along with a knife and fork. Really appreciated that. Gets a 5 star from me for food and service. ***Update 19th Feb 25*** I had hake and chips from here yesterday was absolutely delicious. I haven’t had hake in years was such a lovely treat. I will definitely have it again.

We had a fantastic lunch at pier point. Haddock and chips and the fish cakes special were exceptional with a side of the curry sauce. Christina was absolutely fantastic very chatty and friendly We will definitely return

Just finished our lunch, it was perfect. The food was great, portion size was good. We live locally and it’s our first visit. We were not disappointed. It is a little pricey and the menu is somewhat limited, but the quality of the food really does make up for it.

Tasty chips absolutely loved the homemade fish cakes. But over priced for eating in. Take away not so bad. But if you go to their ice cream store next door you'll find the best fresh doughnuts in Devon and lovely hot chocolate.

Ordered today, a portion of large chips salt/vinegar and a plain bap, the lad that served me couldn’t understand took me 3 attempts he said was that a sausage ’no’. (At this point I almost walked away) They where really quiet but under cooked my chips and didn’t put salt and vinegar on them, I had to mix my cold curry left overs because they where so dry… not happy £4.80 for a tiny box of chips and a bap crap.

Absolutely amazing meal. It was very quiet (January evening) so I can't rate the atmosphere as the place was basically empty, however, it was nice to enjoy our meal in peace! From our table, we could see the chef serving up the meal and the care and attention was impeccable. I had the cod and chips which was superb and hubbie had the special, which was grilled plaice with a lemon and caper sauce. He thoroughly enjoyed it. We washed it down with a glass of red each, which was a delicious Cabernet Sav. The restaurant has a lovely ambiance and despite it being a cold evening in the quietest month ever, we really enjoyed it. They deserve all the awards they have received and we would totally recommend a visit.

Great staff good seating.fish is classed as large but medium to small portions. They also allow dogs to sit on chairs outside and Covered area Which is is not very hygiene is it, have you ever seen a dog wipe it's backside

I understand that it is Christmas and the staff may be tired and want to go home early but it does not justify pressuring customers to the point where they feel very uncomfortable. I had just put down the last bite of my starter when the plate was removed, there were two attempts to remove my main course while I was still eating my chips. I was also not able to enjoy my glass of wine in peace as on three occasions they tried to take it away from me to the point where I grabbed the glass and they took the coaster away!! We were going to have dessert as we told the staff, however after being told they were closed several times, getting snide looks and turning the lights on full blast we decided to leave it. We went to the toilet before leaving the restaurant, a male member of staff was cleaning and stayed inside while I was in the toilet which made me feel extremely uncomfortable. I would understand that kind of behaviour after 11pm, but I find it unacceptable at 9pm on a Saturday. We left the restaurant at 9.18pm and were very unhappy. My friends and I will continue to use the takeaway service, but definitely not the restaurant.

We visit this place fairly often, the food is great and so are the drinks, staff are friendly and very welcoming. It’s a little on the pricey side but in this world you get what you pay for. I recommend this restaurant 100%

We were passing on Boxing day going to the Harvester for dinner, the smell from this place just caught us and dragged us in, and we did not regret it, the service was great the food lovely. If you are in the area this place is a must visit, if you want to sit on the sea front they even have an outside part that is just a fish & Chip shop and I am sure the food is just as good.

Positioned on the Seafront, this restaurant offers an award winning fish and chips. The food was of excellent quality the squid was divine. They cater for children very well, with special drinks and activities. The beer selection is good with Porreti being my go too. Just a great restaurant with great people.

Early afternoon visit. Didn’t book but we luckily were given a table by the seaward side window. We both had the light bite cod and chips. Without doubt the best I’ve tasted. The batter was light and crispy and the fish was tasty. The staff were very good. The only downside was the system of ordering at the bar and this was only as it was busy and noisy and I struggled to hear the bar person. I can see why this restaurant has received awards. The menu was extensive and the other meals leaving the kitchen also looked good

Lovely warm, inviting, clean restaurant. Menu easy and reasonable. Food delicious and served by Clare. We were very well looked after. Atmosphere very festive. Most enjoyable supper. My husband had the mini fish and chips - but Infact a nice size meal.

We arrived and the staff were lovely and let us sit by window for an amazing view of Torquay Seafront. We wanted to try the fish and chips and see how it compares to other restaurants in the area for fish and chips. The batter is super light and crispy, the fish flaky and delicious. Homemade mushy peas and tarter sauce were an added bonus, only issue was that the chips were disappointing, but waitress said that they were changing the chips supplier so that won't be an issue in future.

We walked the 'Bay of Lights' last night and decided to treat our four kids to ice cream sundaes at Pier Point Cafe. What we hoped would be a fun treat turned out to be a disappointing experience. The staff member who served us was incredibly rude and unhelpful. When I ordered the sundaes, she snapped, "If you want those, you have to pay an extra 50p each for scoops of ice cream as we don't have whippy." Her tone and attitude were unwelcoming, to say the least. Despite her poor attitude, I went ahead with the purchase as I had promised the kids. Her demeanor didn’t improve. The boys had chosen 'Bubblegum' and 'Nutella' options from the menu, but she rudely asked, “Well, what flavors do you want?” while pointing at the trays of ice cream. For context, had the soft serve been available, it would have only been vanilla—exactly what they originally ordered. She then took her time making the sundaes without any sense of urgency and didn’t even offer us any serviettes. The scoops were rock-hard, making them difficult for our 5-year-old to eat with the tiny plastic spoon provided. Spending £28 on ice cream should come with decent service, but instead, her attitude was colder than the dessert itself.

A wonderful evening celebrating both a birthday and the opening of the Bay of Lights Trail. Views were stunning and food exquisite. Thank you so much

Me and my partner visited a while back. Personally I thought this place was over priced and not that great given it's location.

Meh. Incredibly underwhelming and very overpriced. I ordered the 'award winning' haddock and chips which is described as 'large' what came was hardly a large piece of fish, and not many chips. A 'large fish and chips' from any decent chip shop is more than enough to fill a hungry belly. This was far from it. The taste of the fish was bland, and underseasoned, if seasoned at all! However, the food was very well cooked. The batter was crispy, and the chips weren't dripping in oil. It really was cooked well, I can't fault that. It's just such a shame the portion size, and taste of the food left me feeling incredibly deflated after looking forward to some fish and chips! I must also add the staff were very friendly. A manager came and spoke to me about my feedback, and was very polite and professional. Top marks for the service.

Good food, odd service. Nice ambience, fab location and the food was excellent. Between us we had fish, and burgers, and we were all happy. It wasn't cheap, but it was good. However despite the near £20 for a burger, I had to go to the bar and order, just like 'Spoons. And the machine had the cheek to ask if I wanted to add a top for servy, and I don't think it was offering to pay me for serving myself. There were plenty of staff around, so hard to figure.

Though a little pricey, the food is really good and presented well. The battered sausauge and chips is the best i've had in a long time, their burger was just the right size (for me) and the best i've had. Loved the desert. The staff is so friendly, helpful and welcoming.

£26.50 for two negronis and they had soda water in. Nope.

Great for a pre-theatre meal. Excellent food for what is a slightly up market fish bar. Staff were attentive and friendly and overall it is a busy but very well run operation.

We had dinner prior to a show at the adjacent theatre. It is basically an upmarket fish restaurant but with excellent service, plain but well cooked food and not overpriced. Overall a very well run operation.

I have to say that this is our first visit here and the fish and chips is probably the best we have had in years!! Unfortunately we are only on a 2 day break so will be a while before we return but we would highly recommend this restaurant, absolutely superb.

The ordering process was smooth and efficient. I made my payment at the bar and was pleasantly surprised to receive my order promptly.

We had lovely fresh fish and chips sat outside in lovely warm sunny weather. It was a delight. The inside furnishings looked nice and comfy when we went inside to order at the bar, but it was too nice a day to sit inside. The dog was allowed outside (but I didn't think inside), and there was a water bowl provided for her. The portions were generous, and we enjoyed our meal.

We used the takeaway, best fish and chips I've had in forever, and the staff are really friendly. I like that you can salt and vinegar your own chips to your taste. Watch out for the seagulls if you eat outside!

I found it bit expensive £14.95 for lite bite fish and chips. Also there is no warning that the toilets are unisex, I went in as gent came out of a cubicle and thought I was in the gents. Would be nice if as a courtesy the staff could make customers aware

This is a review for the takeaway. The fish and chips here are quality. The batter is phenomenal. It is light, crunchy and not greasy. Fish is quality. One downside is I noticed the tail end is used a lot. That is a small gripe. Portion sizes are decent and the chips are quality with just the right amount of crunch and softness. The Chippy's in Torquay are of a high standard and this could be the best one I have tried here. It is very close between this and Hanbury's with Saltwater and Crusoe's just behind them (I have not tried Drakes yet which is also supposed to be very good!)

Sat outside and had a coffee & cake which was nice. Staff don’t seem to be the friendliest but other than that it was lovely. Dog friendly! 😃

Restaurant is located right by the sea. The prices are a bit high, but the food is excellent, not only taste but also aesthetically pleasing. I would recommend this restaurant.

Really nice place to eat or just to have a drink. The food is a bit pricey but quality doesn't come cheap, and our meals were very good, and portion sizes excellent. Would not hesitate to come again if we visit Torquay.

At 22 pounds, the fish and chips were expensive. We expected it to be better than it was. Great seafront location but meal was average at best. And service?? You had to go in to the bar to order, and there was quite a wait just to have the drinks brought to you. Overpriced and over- hyped.

I haven’t been to this restaurant for many years and recently saw they had won an award for their fish & chips (I think there are different owners) so we decided to give it a try. On their website it says they have ‘daily specials’ but when we arrived there was none for that day which was a little disappointing. Ordering is at the bar and we chose calamari and prawn dishes for starters, my prawns were lovely, perfectly cooked in a garlic butter but my friends calamari was slightly overcooked making it chewy (we told the waiter when he checked back). My main course was mussels cooked in wine and garlic and my friend chose fish and chips (hake) served with mushy peas and homemade tartare sauce. My friend said the fish & chips were lovely, light batter and very tasty tartare sauce but my mussels were disappointing, very small and gritty (the sauce was good). Again I told the waiter and he offered a complimentary pudding but as we were both full at this point he took the calamari off the bill. When the bill came they also charged £2 for soda water which to be honest is normally free. All in all a bit of a mixed bag, I don’t know whether I would go back as we have a plethora of good seafood restaurants in this area but who knows?

Went in for a drink, overpriced. £13 for 2 pints! They said they would bring the drinks out, after 10 minutes of waiting I had to pick them up myself. Restaurant was very quiet so no excuses. Poor

My wife and I stopped here for fish and chips in the early evening. What can I say, the fish was perfectly cooked and covered with some really crispy batter, the chips were plentiful and well seasoned, the mushy peas were delicious and the tartar sauce was a real bonus. The meal was expensive, but when you take into account the quality and the location I would say it was worth it.

Used to love this place before it changed hands. Now an overpriced chip cafe, nearly £22 for fish and chips, plus you have to watch some fifteen year old throwing it onto a plate before you are served.

The atmosphere is good and great location. Service is crappy. Customer service non-existent. If you expect me to pay for overpriced food, then provide proper table service. At this restaurant you will not be greeted on the way in, no one will seat you, someone will bring you a menu and tell you to order yourself at the bar. If you can bring a menu you can take an order and do your job.

Just had a lovely meal of fish and chips washed down by a lovely Cappuccino and G&T. The fish was cooked to perfection with a beautiful crisp batter. The Tartar Sauce was absolutely lush and really complimented the Cod. It’s a lovely restaurant with an open veranda or seating inside. On a beautiful evening with the sun shining you couldn’t ask for a better place to eat with views of the harbour. Amazing food and staff.

Very nice food albeit somewhat pricey. Nice helpful staff. Music a tad too loud. Hubby wasn't impressed with the frosted glass toilet door given that they are also unisex. Automatic toilet flush was over sensitive, it flushed three times during his "visit"....First visit as we don't live in the area.

We will avoid this restaurant. It's over-priced for what you get. Mediterranean chicken pasta £19.95. it was so hot with peppers and spices I genuinely could not taste anything being far to spicy for taste. Their basic chips had a odd taste certainly not what you would think they should taste off. This place exists because of the theatre next door. It would not last a month if customers were not using it as a 'meal&Show's place.Theres much better on the front

Dined with friends as we were recommend, although we're told could be expensive. The dining experience happens to be self service due to staff shortages. There is a buzzer in operation not sure why, as both drinks and food are ordered at the bar. My fare was Plaice and the award winning chips, (don't make me laugh). It was difficult to find the Plaice under the over crisped batter once the fish was found it was OK. The chips however wouldn't win any awards in my mind, oven chips at home are better. The only positive within the dining experience was the drinks. To conclude there is no way I would be able to recommend
