Beautiful food and great service but such tiny portions. Six courses were served in dolls house sized cups, bottles and plates. The wine we tried was very very nice and the food was cooked to perfection but I went home and made a sandwich.

Just what you'd expect from a spa hotel. The restaurant was superb and the food incredible. The service was excellent and just the right amount of attentiveness. Probably one of the best restaurants we've dined in

Exceeded our expectations especially at such a reasonable price. This restaurant has been awarded 2 AA Rosettes, well deserved in my opinion. The 5 course menu that includes two Amuse Bouches coffee and petit fours is £35 (or £28 of you are staying at the hotel) which is what you often pay in a good pub - except this food is far and away better than any pub we've ever eaten in. If you enjoy fine dining, then you should try Seasons' Restaurant.

Well what look like a promising afternoon tea when I booked turned out to be not so good . The food was excellent except top tier but to be fair we are not fond of very creamy mousse and shots . We had odd scones one fruit one plain as they run out of fruit we heard the waiter telling a couple ladies. Anyway it was the wait and waiter that ruined this for us . We were sat us looking out on car park of cars when there was plenty room at tables with view . We were told 10 mins for sandwiches etc. 35 mins actual We asked for wine list as we were ordering a bottle of fizz to go with our afternoon tea. The waiter never came back once left menu decided he wanted to chat up two ladies buying tea and scones . Twice we tried to get his attention. I had even considered putting a dress and wig on to get his attention. He squated down laughing and joking with these two us no sandwiches no fizz and by then full ready to walk out. We finally got his attention and ordered our fizz 45 mins into our arrival In the hotel where I work we always do drinks before the tea and would def of had the fizz ordered and open especially if it's a bottle as you want your guests to have a fully waitered spoiled experience. It's the first time in ages I've not left a tip as I'm very hot on doing so but this waiter hopefully got a large tip from the ladies he was chatting up ours is saved for our next afternoon tea . I don't want to say it's because we're a same sex couple our waiter service was so poor as in this day and age I like to think everyone excepted but we were definitely poorly treated for our afternoon treat. Big thank you to the chef who's food was the only saving grace

We spent Christmas at the hotel and stayed 4 nights, 5 days and had all our meals in the Seasons Restaurant. I think the restaurant itself is beautiful and when candlelit with a pianist playing throughout the meal and a good cabaret Act for two hours at the end of dinner it would be perfect for a special occasion. The dining room chairs were very comfortable from which to watch the cabaret which is just as well as the Lounge is small and couldn't accommodate everyone from the dining room. The food was absolutely outstanding and every meal was like that. Not once did the food disappoint even when we tried the more adventurous dishes that we'd never had before. Every meal was superb. Each course was tiny portions artfully displayed but with 7 courses and tasters between main dishes it was more than ample. While we were there the waiting system was hard to comprehend and every meal was served by at least 5 people, you didn't have your own table waiter/waitress. We found this less personal and when we came to tip at the end of the week the waitress we asked was almost surprised that we wanted to leave anything. It went in a screw top jar behind the bar. I think that this system does a disservice to the staff who worked tirelessly throughout the week and deserved a good tip bonus by Friday. It may operate differently outside of Christmas of course.

We visited here recently for a birthday treat/afternoon tea for my mum, it was mediocre at best. Having stayed at the hotel and eaten here previously with a positive experience I was surprised at just how poor the afternoon tea was. The sandwiches contained just cucumber (no other fillings) which we thought was odd, the scones were solid and more like rock cakes and the choice of cakes was limited to two and nothing like the pictures and description we have been given over the phone. I had called ahead when booking to let them know it was a birthday treat and they offered to do a birthday plate, this arrived as we paid the bill and was a smeared happy birthday with a macaroon on a plate, maybe this would have been more appropriate with the food and not as we settled up! Also want to mention how dirty it was, the salt and pepper pot had sauce all over it and the wonder (floor to ceiling) area looked like it hadn’t seen a hoover for some time. We also had to ask twice for clean cutlery. I raised my concerns at the time and was met with a very blank faced waiter who clearly didn’t have much experience in working with people, and after waiting for 20 odd minutes for the manager we decided to leave. I don’t recommend at all and can’t believe the difference in experience from our last stay (valentines stay) to this.

Had a wonderful family meal for 60th birthday celebrations with family. Everything was perfect from start to finish - the hotel even printed me out some Place Names. The six course meal was delicious, the hard working staff were very attentive, and we enjoyed a lovely leisurely dinner - the table was ours for the night. Lovely live music during dinner for two hours, and the icing on the cake was the wonderful cabaret for a further two hours while we enjoyed our tea & coffee and petit fours - we got up and had a lovely fun time dancing along with other guests, it really made the celebration special to enjoy some pop dancing together - something we rarely do as a family! Hope to be back for further celebrations!!

I was part of a group of 8 that visited for the 6 course taster meal on Friday night. I wasn’t sure what to expect from a Torquay hotel, but I was blown away by the quality of the meal and experience. Of course, it being a Friday night in March in Torquay, our table bought the average age in the restaurant down somewhat! The waiter was excellent and was a sign of the good things to come. Even though it was a 6 course meal, none of the courses were overly large, so I still had room at the end of the meal for dessert and also the petite fours offered at the end. Thoroughly recommend booking in for this meal, it’s great that it’s open to non residents.

Enjoyed a family anniversary, with very tasty food and great service. There's a well-stocked bar too. This is a perfect place for any celebration or special occasion with family and/or friends because you get a wonderful six course dinner with live music, plus the entertainment at no extra cost! The table is yours for the night and you can stay on to enjoy the after-dinner entertainment, so highly recommend.

A formal dining experience with 6 courses. Everything beautifully prepared and elegantly presented. Extremely good value for money. However... the one dessert that tempted us, the apple crumble, was sold out, poor planning as the demographic would indicate this to be the top choice. Nor were the tempting selection of ice creams available, only the boringly normal. Would probably return.

We decided to have a meal in the restaurant, even though we live in Torquay. We had never been in the hotel before. We got shown to our table, and we ordered our food. When it came it was lovely. It is fine dining. The staff were friendly but over worked. There was butter on the table but no bread rolls. I could not fault the food but I didn`t like the entertainment while I was eating. It reminded me of our time on a cruise ship where most of the people were over 70. The lights could have been a bit less bright. The best part of our evening was the food. Will we go back? No.

We love Seasons restaurant, the staff are attentive the food is amazing and the portion size of meals is more than ample. As we are currently staying in the hotel we have enjoyed a few evening meals here and each one offers flavour sensations not to mention very pleasing on the eye as the meals are always beautifully laid out. We have had afternoon tea here too today and it was also amazing, the variety of food was very good and there was easily enough food for three people instead of two. The staff even offered to wrap our leftovers to takeaway which is a nice touch. The pot of tea came with proper loose tea leaves, I have not found anywhere that did this so I enjoyed it immensely. Seasons restaurant chef Adrian also created and made my husbands birthday cake recently and he did an amazing job, the skill of the chefs is just mind blowing. We can’t wait until we visit the hotel again and can dine in this amazing restaurant.

We did not stay here but joined my sister and husband for a meal on 2 nights. We were incredibly impressed with the helpfulness of the staff in reception when we enquired about joining them. The waiting staff were all very very friendly but not gushy and I can only say I wish all hotels and eating places in Torquay could have the same training because it really was fantastic. The food, although smaller portions was delicious and we would recommend anyone coming to Torquay to stay here.
