The Visto Lounge in Torbay

A bit pricey but food didn't disappoint. Staff friendly & nice atmosphere. The only off putting thing was the persistent barking of dogs & because of this we decided to leave. Also the toilets were messy & no toilet roll that you could get out of the holder. Maybe keep dogs outside not where food is being served!

I adore this place, it's a life saver. Proper menu, tasty gluten free menu, loads of veggie/ vegan options. Caribbean cauliflower curry ( good portion too ) totally exceeded expectations! Working my way through the menu....🥧☕

Nothing to dislike about Visto Lounge. Great decor and atmosphere and I've almost tried everything in their menu over the years and never been let down. Nice staff too.

Good food. Lots of seating. Warm on a cold wet windy day. Impressed with the tapas. The cheese loaded fries were excellent. App was easy to use.

This place was amazing!! The bartender with the many tattoos in particular had amazing customer service and was so nice to my boyfriend and I. The food was delicious and I definitely recommend the cauliflower Caribbean curry. It was our last night in Torquay and we were glad to have tried this place. The view was also really nice because it was quiet so we could see the ocean.

Me and my best mate came and had lounge bacon cheese burger and I had cowboy smash burger. Best burger I have ever had and been a lot of places definitely come back

Really can't praise Visto Lounge highly enough. It's located right on the sea front,has a great atmosphere enhanced by an eclectic decor. There's a great range of international food and drinks and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Dogs are welcome . Plenty of seating ,both inside and out.

Best tuna melts ever, great service especially the (slightly) older gentleman with a tattoo , he worked really hard and did not stop the whole time we were there, didn’t get his name but he was a credit to the place.

poor service, for a busy evening not enough staff, leading to them being high strung and rude to customers. this is not what i expect coming to a restaurant working in hospitality myself. it is completely normal to be busy but to be rude is inexcusable. i have to say it would’ve been a great night if the manager wasn’t so rude or abrupt, and other colleagues.

Went there for dinner and staff were very friendly and made us very welcome.The food was OK and the kids loved looking at all the old pictures hanging around. The only thing that put us off was the people by us had a dog, they took it outside for a cr4p then brought it back in and sat it at a table on a chair. This made us chose other places to eat for the rest of our holiday as we felt this was unhygienic.

Ww spent a relaxed evening sheltering from the storm on the Spring high-tide. Warm surroundings and a warm welcome, alongside a luxury hot chocolate, a good local pale ale from Brixam brewary, made us and the dog very comfy. Many thanks.

A cavernous place decorated in an interesting style, a mixture of kitsch art and mirrors, old lampshades grouped over the bar and industrial lighting over the tables. Great atmosphere if a little noisy but I liked it and the food was good. I had the Lounge Burger with fries which was very good and reasonably priced at £10.95 and a Peachy Keen which was delicious although expensive at £3.65 as it was mostly ice. I had the same another time having visited other places first but, although the weather was very hot, it seemed not one eatery in Torquay had the sense to have a couple of fans running so left all of them before ordering as they were just too hot. Visto Lounge had some kind of fan/aircon thing going so was much more comfortable. I might have tried something else on the menu but, being hot and bothered by this time, I was in no mood for further experimentation but am sure other things would have been good, too. I had to wait about 30 mins for my food the first time (evening) and 15 mins the second (lunchtime) so, at busy times, get there before you're too hungry to wait. UPDATE: I'm not 'a frequent customer of lounges'. I visited this one, twice, during a brief stay in Torquay which will not be repeated.

They have a gluten-free menu with lots of options. Nice and relaxed atmosphere and very friendly staff!

Friendly helpful and efficient staff. Interesting venue with nice views of the bay. The beef chilli was excellent, lumps of beef and plenty of flavour (not very spicy), and I added extra chorizo and jalapeños (there were loads of both). The breaded buttermilk chicken was excellent, well coated, and had some flavour.

Went to Visto Lounge for lunch - great variety of options. Love that the Lounge franchise offer breakfast menu all day. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff and good value for money. Great view of Torquay bay if sat by the window! Delicious drinks (coolers and lemonades). Mac and cheese was a bit too oily but breakfast muffin was delicious.

Average coffee which was slightly disappointing. We didn’t eat any food so can’t comment on that. We sat outside but very table inside was occupied although this is no excuse for bad coffee. Two of three toilets were out of action and again if you’re wanting to provide a whole experience this needs to be addressed.

Five of us had lunch here yesterday. They were very welcoming of the two dogs we had with us, food was great and the setting was lovely too.

Always a great service and food. Although customers with dogs could show a bit of understanding that not all people dining appreciate a dog sticking it's snout in your breakfast 😮‍💨

we went here a couple of times during our stay in Torquay, great service, good choice of food and drinks, especially liked the outdoor seating, fortunately the weather was sunny and it was lovely sitting outside with a cool drink, looking at the sea and watching the world go by!

So I found something my food at first I thought it was caramelized sugar so I put them on the side but them quite a few turned up, later on I decided to taste it and it didn’t taste anything AT ALL, it also makes a dent if u really bit hard on it. We did ask them what it was because we feel it’s plastic or some sort, the staff came back from the kitchen and they said it was something left in the pan when they cooked the egg, but definitely not plastic. I dont know it looks suspicious. We didnt finish the rest of the order. Be careful if you’re gonna eat here, you might be swallowing something you shouldn’t 😉

Absolutely brilliant place, we ate here on a number of occasions whilst staying in Torquay! They were so accommodating with food requirements, I asked for a tuna melt but to remove the onions - a member of staff came over to tell me that the chefs had offer to make me a small batch which didn’t include pre mixed in onions. Nothing seemed too much for them, just excellent service!!

Tasty breakfast, lovely staff, great atmosphere. Happy days!

We stopped in for a hot drink view from the window across the bay was wonderful we decided to stay for cocktails on approaching the bar we were advised that 4 of the cocktails that we chose they had not got the ingredients was very very disappointed if you are going to offer 🍸 make sure your bar is well stocked we left and went into torquay Harbour

Visited Torquay from Cornwall. We found the decor was fab and so interesting and the service fantastic. Even though it was busy we were served quickly both times we visited on the same day! Nice Coffee ☕️ 😋 and cake and the paninis were ansum too. We will call in again if ever in Torquay again. Not many nice places in Torquay to sit down and enjoy the surroundings anymore, unfortunately, but Visto Lounge was lovely xx

Always enjoy a great brunch here. The menu is comprehensive and food cooked perfectly, great portion sizes too. Drinks menu has a good selction. Execellent coffe too. Seating inside or outside are all good. Service quick and friendly. Would recommend.

We came for coffee but stayed for lunch (sandwich) on Mother's day. Great menu, fab service + dog friendly! My wife had a breakfast muffin (perfect egg and Cumberland sausage) with a mocha. I had a yummy Philly steak ciabatta and green tea.

Great atmosphere, great food and great wine. We walked in without booking, got a table and food within the hour. Probably busier in season, I visited in February.

Went for brunch, brought a dog. Had smashing meals and the dog was brought water and treats! Super staff were attentive and we had an enjoyable time.

Oh wow the best lunch ever ! Flatbread with roasted beetroot on whipped feta ! Ordered on app ! Super fast and so delicious ! Really friendly helpful welcoming waitress (with a funky black skirt/wide belt ) fab customer service there ! I would drive from Somerset any day for that !! Thankyou team ! Decor amazing and relaxed vibes by the sea

Food was OK but for what you got a bit pricey. Gluten free options but why cut down the portions size just because I'm unable to eat regular bread....? Not served with any trimmings. Service OK. Not sure I'd hurry back

Really great staff and exactly what you'd expect from the lounge brand. Good place to meet and chat or eat, meet and chat!

Arrived at 8pm, it was very busy but there was plenty of tables free. Placed order and within 10mins it arrived. Wife had Meze bowl and I halloumi burger. Food was perfect. Service was excellent. Decor very similar to the other Lounges I have visited. All very welcoming. Would definitely visit again.

As a local, I've visited many times since it opened and am never disappointed. Called in this morning - a very busy sunny Saturday - just me and my dog but no spare tables. Reluctantly (as it was a bit too breezy for comfort) sat outside but after a couple of minutes the young lady who took my order came out to say there was now an empty table. I only wanted a coffee and a teacake and thought it might take a while as it was so busy - but no - both arrived in quick time - and no confusion over my table switch! Very impressed once again - excellent staff, good coffee and a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. Have tried many , many coffee shops in the Bay - this one takes some beating.

We enjoyed Teo dinners and one lunch here during our week in the area. Staff were friendly and helpful, food was varied, well presented and tasty and prices were fair. A good option in the area.

Well this was a banging breakfast!! Everything was cooked spot on. Service was very quick. For a higher class breakfast i would highly recommend. Only thing letting it down to me is there was no choice of scrambled eggs. I will defo be returning for this breakfast and to try more on the menu!

Decided to try somewhere different for a hot chocolate!!! Considering the price it sadly didn't have much chocolate to it!!! Very disappointed!!

Nice place, shame they let dogs take over the place! Health and safety has gone out of the window!. Dogs sitting at the tables, staff stroking the animals. A little bit disappointed with this , being tolerated. The place obviously would rather footfall over standards!.

Excellent place to eat. This will be our 3rd time and it won’t be our last. Lovely atmosphere, pleasant and helpful staff. Excellent Gluten free options, not your usual token gesture. Highly recommended you visit if your in Torquay.

Out for a stroll on Torquay promenade, we fancied a light midday snack. The toasted teacakes with butter and jam hit the spot. It was a simple snack, but it was a quality fruity teacake and a decent size to boot! Excellent coffee, as well as good friendly service, made this a bit of a treat.

What an excellent establishment, we popped in for breakfast & were greeted by Miles, the friendliest member of staff I have ever come across who clearly loves his job ! The breakfast & service were absolutely outstanding. I asked for sausages & bacon to be well done & everything was spot on. They were extremely busy but everything ran like clockwork. In fact we enjoyed breakfast that much we went back on the evening of NYE for our meal before we headed out to celebrate & again were thrilled by the service food & atmosphere. We will definitely pop in now every time we visit Torquay & have already recommended it to our friends & family . Thanks from a very impressed couple Sarah & Lee x

After seeing these people struggle with two tills and only ever one person on one till as a manager also offering advice free of charge. Why don’t the establishment do one till for food and one till for drinks at high volumes today …. …..Christmas Eve high volumes, watching everybody doing cocktail shakes looking amazing for effect with a queue going out the door. Absolutely disgraceful. CCTV will show on the time and date of this situation going on. Where are the management does anybody know what they’re doing in this establishment it’s a shame because the chefs are the only decent people in there. Unfortunately, due to the amount of times, I have witnessed this. I have started telling everybody I know in professional and personal not to recommend this establishment disgraceful until management sort out this stupid arrangement. Where is it seems looking like something and actually doing something or two different things, not professional whatsoever Not recommended whatsoever, that’s very unfortunate hopefully they will learn in the future

I loved it here. Very nice decoration and lovely staff. I went for a burger which was aptly served and on the whole was a lovley experience. Would reccomend to families and couples and will be attending again.

Found this place a few months ago and have been back most weeks since. Vibrant environment and cool decor. Friendly staff. Most importantly a great menu (large). I have the falafel flat bread most times. Never book and don’t even know they accept them. Always busy but always get a table.

The food at Visto Lounge tastes like nowhere else in town. Interesting food with a Southern American influence and beyond. Great tapas well made. Service was also fantastic so we went again the following day for lunch. Clean and tastefully decorated, it feels like travelling abroad. Brilliant.

I came here with my family for a birthday breakfast, the waitress Marina was absolutely amazing! She put together a table for us. Couldn’t thank her enough. She was engaging with the kids, they drew pictures and she put them up on the wall! They were so happy and proud! Brilliant staff and atmosphere.

Probably fun for the tourists in the summer but there are many locally owned alternatives in Toquay.

Love all of the lounges. This one has the best sea view though! Food is varied, great vegan and gluten free options for those who want it. The menu menu can basically cater to everyone and it's all delicious! Level access for wheelchair users with a good amount of space to move around, tables are solid wood and do have the deep surrounding skirt so some wheelchair users may struggle to get knees under. Really lovely staff and easy booking system and ordering app too.

The coffee was good but the cake was miniscule, we both had the same cake but the difference in their sizes was quite obvious and both the same price! Not sure about returning due to the loud barking of dogs in the restaurant. Eating out...

I likes this place and it was our first visit, having gone.there with friends. The staff are fruendly and helpful, and there is a downloadable app which enables you to order and pay from your phone/tablet. The menu is varied and has a dew suprises. We went for the Shawarma Lamb Flatbread with a side of fries, and a Goan Lamb Curry with a side of garlic flatbread. Whilst I found the curry to be really good with tender lamb in a medium spiced curry gravey with chunks of sweet potato; the garlic flatbread was similar to an overcooked, tough, crunchy 6 inch pizza base and in no way flexible! Sadly the flatbread for the Shawarma was identical and could only be eaten with a knife and fork after much strenuous cutting. The fries were fries sparse, in a small enamelled cup. The topping was also sparse of meat and heavy in a mallange of sauces. So, mixed reviews on the food which is reflected in the scoring. We would definitely go back again and sample other things from the menu, and I would encourage you to give it a whirl. As I said, the staff were very friendly and the service was swift; the smbience was pretty good too, and you have to love a restuatant that welcomes your dogs too.

Stopped here for lunch on a Wednesday afternoon. The place had a great relaxing atmosphere. The customer service is amazing. The food we had was very well presented and very tasty. Good to see they are dog friendly as well

Had a tasty lunch before we headed off to a matinee performance at Princess Theatre. On the way back, we stopped off for amazing prosecco and passion fruit cocktails and a couple of very tasty mezze plates. All the staff were efficient and super friendly...the atmosphere by candlelight in the evening was fab

Wow what an amazing find. We were greated as soon as we walked in and straight away we were at ease with allergy requirements. Our waiter was a bit quirky but so genuine and when were ordered she came back and said that one of the items I could not have as the kitchen could not guarantee it was seafood free. What any amazing place. We ordered mexican bowl, lamb flat bread, side were chips (the were crispy and yummy) and house slaw which did not disappoint. The star(s) of the night were the Espresso Martini and Cherry Bakewell cocktail. Coffee was made with a barista perfection and the carrot cake dessert was yummy. I could not recommend more, efinitely make the effort to go visit you will not be disappointed. Star of Torquay.

The Pulse of the riviera lifestyle this place!!!!! Upbeat, cool, wanna hang out there with a suprising and delish food arts from the kitchen!!!! It is a nice lounge where is good to be!!!! The manager of the place is a fantastic guy (Myles) and the whole team is cool,and hardworking,attention to detail people!!! They deserve all the tip in the world!!!

Poor service throughout. Not told when being shown a table that it was bar order only and then snapped at by objectionable bar staff when trying to order. Food was OK but young staff clueless. They need a staff training programme in place asap.
