Very disappointing from a regular customer. Ordered 2 x large chicken shish kababs. Surprised they had gone up to £13.00 each so was expecting the works. How disappointing. NEVER AGAIN!! Cartons were split into 2 sections. A small, yes SMALL pitta bread forming the base one side with 6 chicken strips placed on top with a small side salad the other, of 2 X half slices of cucumber, 2 X half slices of tomato, few bits of shredded lettuce and a small spoon of coleslaw. Oh and the sauces were forgotten so delivery driver had to come back again!. How can you justify this double whammy - a price increase alongside a reduction in the amount of food being served. I know things are tight for everyone but def not worth the amount charging now. we won't be ordering again 😭

Popped in on a Saturday late morning. Bacon sandwiches were fab, loads of perfectly cooked bacon, soft bread, a portion of really crispy chips on the side. Staff very friendly and efficient. Proper cup of tea. Look forward to returning when in Newton Abbot again.

The five of us stopped here for lunch and it could not have been better. Two of us had local mussels and the other three homemade French onion soup. The mussels were possibly the best I have ever eaten. Those who had the soup also said it was delicious. The portions were really generous accompanied by loads of very good bread. It was all astonishing value. Including glasses of cider and beer it worked out at just £12.00/head with a tip. Our friends, who were visiting from Sussex said they do not remember having a better pub lunch. Service can be a little slow as everything is cooked on the premises, in small batches. It is worth waiting for. We spoke to some locals who all said the Sunday lunch was fantastic. We shall try that soon… The atmosphere was just lovely and full marks were scored when there was hot water in the toilets – something quite rare in our experience! I summary, if you are nearby, do go to this pub. You will not be disappointed.

We've just returned from a 2 night stay at the Cromwell arms. We were visiting friends and it happened to be the Green Man Festival on on the Saturday and it was a lovely thing to see. We had the family room right upstairs in the eaves. We had a meal in there with our friends on the Saturday evening all went for the Ribeye steak at £23.95 we thought what a bargain well what can we say absolutely delicious so tasty we went for the port and stilton sauce and if I was forced to say anything that you would change I would say the sauce could've been thicker very runny but don't let that put you off it was delicious. We also had breakfast in the hotel and one thing we were really impressed with it was piping piping hot so much so you could see the steam coming off the breakfasts. Very friendly and accommodating staff and we would definitely stay here again love love loved it

Was recommended this pub by a colleague so went for lunch with my daughter and her boyfriend. The photo on the website shows Cod and chips but the menu was plaice and chips and looked a bit overcooked though they said it was nice. I ordered lasagne which I'm sure said that it was " Aberdeen Angus " though there didn't appear to be much meat in it only sauce and mushrooms . It was nice but not what we expected especially for the price. Desserts however were lovely. The view is also good but the paint peeling off the walls in the restaurant..not so good .

Firstly one of the party was given calamari as a starter when the order was sweet & sour chicken. One of the mains was fish & chips. A child's portion would have been bigger & the fish looked like it was from a Birds Eye packet. Salad was inedible due to a disgusting dressing, the chips were dry & tasteless. Ordered a second drink & it never arrived.

Haldon Forest is a great location for walks or cycling (non-cyclists and drivers look out for wayward bike riders) and afterwards for a breakfast or lunch at The Ridge Café. We all wish though that some more of the lunchtime meal offerings were available earlier, at least from 10ish. Would this really be a problem? The staff though are great, very cheerful and keen to help even when they are understaffed at the counter. If you’re planning to visit, just check the internet, maybe under Forestry England, for events, which seem to be on the increase, as it can get very very busy.

Popped in for a drink and Wow! This pub has been very tastefully modernised, stylish but subtle from every aspect. Too much to explain, go se for yourself. There is also a games room and garden. Drinks were reasonably priced.
