Unique way of getting to beach a bit pricey but they had almost a year of maintenance so had to recoup somehow. Nice friendly team

It's a nice venue; it could probably do with a refurb, but it's a pleasant enough pub. Our problem was that we had wine in glasses that were disgusting. I had been in another Wetherspoons that same day, had the same drinks, and the glasses were perfectly clean. These were dirty-looking, stained glasses, and I couldn't drink mine as it was very off-putting. There's not really an excuse for a lack of cleanliness in a pub.

I still like this place, its nearly always busy, with normally a good atmosphere. The staff are nice and friendly. The food used to be really good, but sadly its gone a bit downhill. Meals turn up either wrong, or with items missing or even cold. Best thing I can say on that front is, that its cheap, and you never know, you might be lucky! Still room for improvement!... Getting better... Watch this space. Great upstairs outside terrace, proper lil suntrap!

Visited here whilst on holiday. The tables were sticky and dirty. A lot of the tables needed clearing. Went to order food, no salt sachets and no chicken bites because of supply issue. I get that with the chicken but salt? Service was quick but panini was lukewarm. It’s a shame as it’s a great building with great staff.

Oh dear, the food was delivered so quick I don't think the chef had time to add any flavour. The chicken burger was so dry and hardly edible. I'm just thankful it was so cheap. It's such a shame as the majority of food in Teignmouth is so dire, but I guess it's to be expected from a chain. What a shame. 2 out of 5

As creatures of habit, fish and chips and Tenessee burger are always our go to and we were disappointed! The burger buns (and the beef) could've been a little fresher, but a good slosh of sauce was just enough if a boost to take the edge off. The F&C was crisp, chunky and a good size, with popping garden peas- yum! It was heaving in there so it was hard to find a seat, but staff were friendly and service was quick

Went in for a quick drink with my 6ft 2in, bearded, 28yr old son. We were stood together at the bar and he asked for a couple of pints. He was asked for proof of age and didn't have any. Being stood next to him I asked if I could order the alcohol and assured the barmaid that I was 61, my son was 28 and I even showed a picture of my son's driving licence that was on my phone that clearly showed he was born in 1996. The barmaid had the opportunity to refuse service but instead took my money and served me two pints. I said thanks and we sat down in front of the bar on the high stools thinking all sorted, no problems.. Within seconds a young duty manager rushed in and snatched the beer from my son as he was drinking, spilling half of it over the floor. He shouted at my son telling him to get out. I pointed out that it was the barmaid's decision to serve me and she knew one of the pints was for my son. I also pointed out that bar managers really shouldn't be escalating situations and that he had the opportunity to ask for a quiet word instead of acting in such a theatrical manner. At this point I was told to leave and if I didn't, the police would be called. I asked for a refund and he refused. I asked for a copy of my receipt but he would not write on it that he had refused to refund and why. I then left the bar. My point is this. If a bar manager wants to invoke their legal responsibilities after an elderly, disabled, man has already been served alcohol, I do think there is a polite and business like way to do it. I used to run a bar. I also used to be a building society manager. I have never been in trouble with the law. I have never even had a parking fine or speeding ticket. I WAS a regular at the Jolie Brise, keeping myself to myself and never being caught up in any trouble on the premises before. The barmaid should NOT have served me if she still thought there was a problem. I purchased alcohol in good faith and at the very least, the request for a refund should have been honoured. Snatching beer off sober adults who have just entered and then shouting at them to leave after the barmaid had made the decision to serve those adults after a pleasant discussion, is pretty darn stupid. Peaceful, quiet customers deserve some basic respect if there is any problem. I hope the Duty Manager reads this and changes his ways. I remember watching him last year on the bar when he threatened to ban an old guy if he said anything else to him. The old guys crime ??? He told the duty manager who couldn't count after partying all night how much change he was owed. Seriously........

One of the nicer wetherspoons pubs .. the tables and floors don't seem at all sticky here! It's spacious and attractive .. very welcoming looking (if that makes sense? .. not dark and dreary like some). We don't come here often, but I do like it. There's plenty of coffee machines, outdoor seating, toilets, an open fire .. everything you would expect and it's very close to the shops in Teignmouth so a nice stop off point for breakfast or lunch if you're visiting the area.

It can get very busy here, especially at the weekend, sometimes there is a queue at the bar, the staff are pretty good though. Was recommended this pub by a colleague so went for lunch with my daughter and her boyfriend. The photo on the website shows Cod and chips but the menu was plaice and chips and looked a bit overcooked though they said it was nice. I ordered lasagne which I'm sure said that it was " Aberdeen Angus " though there didn't appear to be much meat in it only sauce and mushrooms . It was nice but not what we expected especially for the price. Desserts however were lovely. The view is also good but the paint peeling off the walls in the restaurant..not so good .

We've just returned from a 2 night stay at the Cromwell arms. We were visiting friends and it happened to be the Green Man Festival on on the Saturday and it was a lovely thing to see. We had the family room right upstairs in the eaves. We had a meal in there with our friends on the Saturday evening all went for the Ribeye steak at £23.95 we thought what a bargain well what can we say absolutely delicious so tasty we went for the port and stilton sauce and if I was forced to say anything that you would change I would say the sauce could've been thicker very runny but don't let that put you off it was delicious. We also had breakfast in the hotel and one thing we were really impressed with it was piping piping hot so much so you could see the steam coming off the breakfasts. Very friendly and accommodating staff and we would definitely stay here again love love loved it
