My friend and I lunch here most Mondays usually having fish and chips with the best french fries I have had. The fish is delicious with thin crispy batter. I cannot praise the staff enough for their friendliness, and attention to detail which makes it a pleasure to go there

There is a play park, seating area outside for when the sun is shining, pool table, darts and tv.. bathroom is always clean Couldn’t recommend enough..

The best start to a racing day. We have be coming down for the last couple of years, meeting our friend and going to the races at Newton Abbott. We made a very wise decision to start our winning day with breakfast. We chose "The Sloop" last year, and haven't been anywhere else since. Nothing compares. The bacon is like nothing else!! As is the rest of it. The staff are really great, efficient and friendly. They always check that everything is Ok. The service from beginning to end is really attentive. And for me, they make the experience, more enjoyable. So good, we returned for our evening meal and that did not disappoint neither, great. A great team of staff (from kitchen to front of house). Thank you from me and Trev. Keep up the good work.

Started coming here last month, service from the staff is amazing, nice to see a GM working the floor and interacting with his customers, food is spot on and plenty for a great price.

We decided to take a spontaneous trip to the sloop in a half hour drive from Exeter to the hungry horse, we have been here a fair few years ago with family when I was little so thought we give it a try today with my parents and my partner, Wow! The food value for money is a 10/10 , was greated by friendly staff when entered building, barman Kurtis was very helpful and friendly & even offered the double ups and upgrades within our meals , the food took ruffly 20 mins not to long of a wait even know business was busy when we was there 6:30pm, the food was excellent could not fault it at all, staff did check back to make sure we food was good and that we had everything we needed , it’s a shame we didnt leave room for puddings as the looked fabulous! , can honestly say I’m glad to see that the staff work as a team and that they offer the floor staff help and the floor staff as the bar team if they needed any help that shows you have a brilliant team! Who care about the business , the restaurant was clean and tidy, no issues whatsoever I will definitely will be coming back again soon!

Food &drink was great,just one thing let it down ordered xtra drink half pint of cider & a drink for the partner and was over charge, charged for a pint did notice this till I was miles away ,flaged up on my phone, to far to go back,so the morrow of the story is get a receipt and check you get what you pay for especially when paying by debit card. I will be watching next time at the local hunger horse

Booked a table for Sunday lunch after visiting the Sloop on Friday and all I can say is what a lovely place the staff are so friendly nothing is too much trouble ! The food was served very efficiently and on both visits it was lovely, there is a very nice outside seating area and there is a very large space to take your dog inside as well as outside which pleased us tremendously! Well done everyone we will definitely be returning.

Steak was cold and tough as old boots. Peas were cold. Gravy was like oxo cube in water. My hubby had a burger which was disgusting. My lager shandy just tasted of peppermint. DEFO WONT BE GOING BACK EVER SHOCKINGLY BAD!!!!!!

Came across this establishment purely by chance - lost holiday makers having taken a wrong turn ! However, what a great discovery ! Although it was a busy Saturday lunchtime and we did not have a booking we were not that hopeful of being accommodated. No problem - the staff greeted us and we easily managed to find a pleasant windowside table. The staff were all very welcoming, happy and pleasant. Service was good. Tables cleared quickly & efficiently. Good choice of food available and, as always in the Hungry Horse chain, decent portion sizes and amazing value. We had the Chicken Parmiagana which was lovely and the side salad was actually a decent salad and not just a few leaves of "decoration" ! We enjoyed our visit - both the food and atmosphere - immensely and, as we visit Devon several times a year, this will now be a firm fixture on our list of establishments to visit for enjoyable food at good prices. Didnt go there for the culenry delights. New I was never going so savor gastronomic flavours. So wasnt disappointed. Usual cheaper than cheap fried and dinged food . Not very much different from the cheap frozen isle in Iceland . But for a tenner each ... It was clean and just the right side of edible. I'd have given it a 3 .. but was more annoyed that the ferrel rugrats zooming everywhere place tag round the tables .

There was so much to eat as a vegan, I had fish and chips and it was the best vegan fish and chips I have had. For dessert I had the chocolate torte and couldn’t resist the vegan crumble

Came in here for a quick pint on a little pub crawl on the way to newton abbot... Only had a pint.. One member of staff...(Sam) Said on his name badge.. Served a customer before me and i was waiting before that customer.. Found him a little rude.. And he didn't look like he wanted to be on that shift 👎 Other than that had a decent peroni.. Then left and went on to better pubs with better service...

I have been meaning to drop in here for decades but never been the opportune moment. I was on my own today and had to stop and have food somewhere and this was on route. Ok, it's what you expect from a green king. Their menu is prety standard, nothing exceptional in that respect. Service was good and freindly they had a small but ok selection of beer. Food was served quickly and up ro scratch. It was quite empty, it was just before the holiday week though so maybee it gets busier later in the year. It did also feel like it was on the cusp of getting close to needing a refit or a spruce up, despite the large windows it feels a bit dark inside.

Had a lovely dinner with the family. The chaps who served us were very friendly and helpful. The food was very good and the price excellent.

My severe was “Patthew” aka Matthew.. Absolute delight and the food was all “Gravy” as I went for the gravy one burger today! I will return like many other times, nice size meals and well worth the price.

Friday 8th March 2024 When we came into the pub, the pub was well busy because off `Mothers Day` coming up and as usual its a mad rush to get a table, luckily we got a table (with reservation), we got our drinks at the bar, which didn`t take too long, and shortly after that we ordered our dinner at the bar. Dinner for both of us really in our book didn`t take too long, but when we got our dinner it was absolutely great, we couldn`t fault it, we was stuffed. This is the second time we`ve been here, and the food and the staff do not disappoint. Very big thankyou for fitting us in, you did a great job, well done, keep it up.

The food and service were excellent. Absolutely perfect bacon on my full English, and Hayden was incredibly helpful and friendly. Toilet stalls are really tiny though, and difficult to maneuver

Called in en route home, we both had the English breakfasts and were delighted. Friendly service with a smile and nothing was too much trouble.

Went for the 15oz gammon me and the wife had the same ! Must beautifully cooked not too salty and plenty of it actually struggled to eat it all chips where done nice too and eggs done just right plenty of peas well Worth the money

Came for breakfast this morning and the service we received from the barman (Matt) was second to none! He was so cheerful, happy, helpful and made us feel so welcomed! He enjoyed having a laugh and having ‘banter’. He made the visit for us 10/10! We had 2x full English breakfasts and a coffee and a juice for £11.25!! Full, content tummies! X

Myself and daughter went into the sloop for breakfast, the gentleman behind the bar (matt) was an absolute delight! Very friendly and cheeful we couldn't rate him enough. On top of that the breakfast was delicious 😋. Thanks matt !!

Great response to the current situation great food attentive staff and a manager who seems to care about what they do! Cant fault it the app was easy and staff checked to make sure everything was ok and my family were all taken care of.

On two occasions I have been too the sloop and witnessed a Scottish lad called Audrey bullying staff. The food and drinks were amazing and bar and floor staff were brilliant. I think staff deserve to be treated with more respect.

Easy to book, lovely hot and tasty food and a reasonable price. Very good and covid safety measures in place. Welcoming staff on arrival and throughout the meal.

I recently went for a meal at the sloop with my partner, we didn't have massive expectations for "pub food" but unexpectedly had such a lovely meal.The whole experience made so much more comfortable by the lovely blue haired girl, the only disappointment is that we didn't have enough cash to tip her what we wanted. Worth every penny, new local fave.

Recent visit to the sloop for lunch - didn’t expect much on entrance anyway but you confirmed my hesitance to eat there - wish I had suffered an illness and gone Torbay hospital instead to be fair. From being greeted by miss customer service on high volume - being frog marched to a table - livid because no booking was made in an empty establishment..... not to mention the poor table boy who loved shouting GOOOOOD in your ear - to the ridiculous system of being served - felt held by gun point whilst demanding for payment to be made upfront to being dished up what can only be described as slurry lobbed on a plate. Wrong drinks sent after what felt like an hour after our order had been placed and don’t get me started on the lady who had left her hair in the blue ice slushy machine..... a smile wouldn’t have gone a miss. Also my partner who has special needs really missed having a crayon pack to keep him busy whilst we waited a month for lunch. POOR

Think the staff deserve some praise for their pleasant and friendly service under these trying conditions. Food was well cooked and presented and excellent value for money!

The restaurant is very warm and welcoming with very helpful staff. Food ranges from cheap and cheerful to big plate specials. You really need to be hungry to get through one of those. Can be very busy so going off peak times helps guarantee a table.

The food came out quickly and the service was good. I had chicken and it was ok. Nothing other than ok. Rude customers who moaned about having to use the app were accommodated when personally I would of told them to leave. The girl on the door had a cough which was somewhat off putting. Not the best hungry horse we have been to. But overall ok.

Myself and my partner visited here this morning for a breakfast. When we arrived we were greeted by a lovely gentleman who told us the procedures that were put in place and ensured we knew where all hand sanitizer to keep everyone safe. When we were seated we ordered on the app. Drinks arrived very quickly from a lovely blonde lady on the bar. Food arrived and it was amazing! The serving was huge and my request for mine to be well cooked was well met due to me being pregnant. The blonde lady again came to ensure everything was ok for us, which it was. Full 5 stars for food and service. I will definitely return and recommend.Thankyou!

Visited here for dinner on the 8/10/20 and was absolutely gob smacked by the service my family received. Firstly we were greeted by a young lady sitting at a table by the door, ears phones in and couldn’t care less about how she greeted her customers. She rudely told us to follow her to our table, and was told very abruptly that we couldn’t use the bar and that we had no other choice but to use our phones to order. ( This is absolutely fine, we all appreciate the team are follow government guidelines) but the way the young lady went about it was not good at all. We ordered our food through the app, great app very easy to use! Our food came out very quickly which was great, but some items on our plates were missing and when we asked about it they told us they didn’t have them in stock and that we should have been made aware what we could and couldn’t order otherwise we may not receive everything on our plates that should be there ( we was not made aware of this). Another scruffy looking member of staff came over a short while after, his visor was disgustingly dirty, scruffy trainers on with his trousers rolled up. He brought us a small bowl of chips which looked as if they were the left overs from the fryer - some skinny chips, some thick cut, mainly burnt crispy bits. He told us this was to make up with what was missing from our dinners. Although our meals came out fast and this was fantastic - majority of it was cold/ or had been microwaved for so long it was hard. The table next to us also had the same issue with under cooked scampi. We ate what we could but found the staff to rude to say anything. I can only assume that if the kitchen staff were not having a rave in the kitchen they would be able to cook food properly. The music from the kitchen could be heard all over the restaurant- not what you expect when paying for a service. The cleanliness of the restaurant/ toilets was not what you expect on any normal day, let alone with the times we are going through at the minuet. As locals we eat here a lot, but I am sorry to say after the service we received and quality of the food served we will not be going back any time soon. I really think this restaurant would benefit from someone higher up in the chain to do an anonymous trip for dinner just to see what is really going on!

Visited the sloop with friends. Extremely friendly and professional service from Audrey, so much so we have visited a few more times over the past couple of months and is always consistent. Will be returning soon.

Popped in for breakfast this morning with a friend. Very pleasant welcome and after contact details taken we where shown to our table. Everything explained to us clearly and desisivly and orders taken promptly. Under the present circumstances it must be said that the emphasis put on safety and cleanliness is impeccable. Our breakfast was delivered to our table very quickly after ordering and was piping hot and cooked to perfection. All in all the service and food we received was an easy 10/10 and will return again definitely.

Called in on spec. Grateful we were given a table at about 16.00.Staff polite and attentive.Food nice and quickly served.The reason for the score of 3 is due to many tables in our area had young children that were left to run around by their l presume parents.Occasionally one or two were rounded up only to be running around us a few minutes later.Besides us there was one other table with lets say silver surfers.Not at all impressed with the lack of managing of social distancing regarding this.Yep kids can be hard to handle but looking at your phone and walking over to other groups of people to scoop your own kids up constantly is a receipe for spreading COVID.Not once did ANY staff try to manage this unacceptable situation as 22 things are going to be tighter because of people like this.It spoilt the visit as other wise food and service was good.

Been here several times ..staff always friendly..went at 4o'clock no tables available as all booked up ..surely they should keep some unbooked for passing trade. Was quite disappointed. That's not good customer service ..

Went down to the sloop last night for a family meal the staff were all fab and very helpful nothing was to much trouble and the food was amazing it was hot and well presented would like to say a big thank you to Tristram and the team for making us very welcome and safe will be back soon ❤❤

Visited the Sloop Inn in Kingskerswell back in July for a dinner out. We booked a table ahead of time to ensure the 5 of us would be seated and not have to wait. The waitress was very friendly and asked us to do the track and trace as we are in coronavirus times. We didn't have to wear masks inside the restaurant. She walked us to our big table in the middle of the restaurant and explained about how to order using their app. The app was great, ordered what you wanted and charged straight away so you didn't need to tot up a bill at the end of the dinner, made it even better that you paid for your food straight away rather than trying to split the bills. Food came quick and i enjoyed my scampi and chips and my vegan black forrest pie for pudding (I'm dairy free). The staff were friendly and checked in on us multiple times. We all had a good time and weren't rushed. We were asked to put dirty glasses on q tqble behind us, which we did. Luckily, the cwr park parking meter was broken so we didn't have to pay for parking. The restaurant has big windows so you can enjoy the view as its slightly elevated. Would return again.

Despite having an angry customer just b4 us who hadn't taken time to book on the super simple app we were greeted with a smile. Taken to table straight away and used the app to order contact less. Very easy very covid safe. Food great value esp with voucher I got from fb ( do research before u go). 2 courses plus drinks for 28 pound including steak = great value. And service was incredibly quick. We arrived ordered and ate all within 40 minutes.

Today my husband and I had the most wonderful lunch at The Sloop. We were nervous eating out as we haven’t been out since COVID-19 struck but we were quickly reassured and impressed by the impeccable standards of cleanliness and hygiene demonstrated by the staff. The girl who greeted us made us feel very safe and reassured that we were in good hands during our meal.We were served by a lovely young man, Jamie, who was incredibly friendly and attentive to our needs! Even though it was very busy, he ensured we were happy with our food and we cannot thank him more for making our lunch such a success. The food was delicious and arrived very quickly, the quality of food that we received for the price was impressive! Please send along our thanks to all of the staff working today, especially our waiter. We had a fantastic time and will be returning to The Sloop very shortly!

We arrived with no table booked, about 1pm.we we're greeted with a smile and a table was found for our party of 4. After we tried to use the app and failed, we were asked to order at the bar. Our drinks came with a different colour straw to denote what was in them. Our food arrived hot and looked great. I chose sweet potato fries, which were crispy, just as I like them. The burger was cooked to perfection. My granddaughter enjoyed her chips as she likes crispy ones. The other 2 in our party were also happy with their meals. Looking forward to going next Wednesday as well.

Went for lunch yesterday with 2 older children and 4 adults, we were seated and informed to use the app to place an order. Every time my daughter tried to use it she got an error message and when I used it the order was paid for and 20 mins later no drink. I went to the bar and they said the order had not come through. We decided to go to the bar instead and what I imagine to be the new manager or landlady approached each person in the queue to insist that they use the app. The man behind said it was difficult to use but she insisted he do it. He caved in and went back to his seat, she then approached us and tried to do the same and we stood our ground and refused due to it not working. Later in the afternoon, she was telling off an older child because she went outside to go to the play park, she then turned to us and shouted across that our child should not be running around, our children were sat with us, when we told her that this child was nothing to do with us there was no apology from her. I have been going to the sloop for years and it has always been a good child-friendly place. Went to this place 4.20 p.m. Monday the 3/8/20. Four cars in the car park so obviously pretty empty.Went up to the entrance door counter, asked if I had booked and said no. Then I got the famous quote per the title from the girl. " Sorry we dont take walk ins".So I walked around to the side. Looked around. Four tables occupied. Plenty of empty tables inside and not one occupied table outside.Couple of staff lounging over the bar having a chat. So I walked off and that was that.So in these troubled times and despite keep getting e mails imploring me to go to the place when you get there you get turned away. Nick MacKenzie the CEO of Green King ( the owners of The Sloop ) signs off the company report saying " New Company Values and Purpose. We pour happiness into lives. Putting customers at the heart of the business ".Dont make me laugh Nick !Filled out the customer feedback form on line and a week later got a phone call from Audrey at The Sloop. That's right we had lots of bookings that day, no tables. Told her if you dont take walk in's then why not tell people on the web site and in the emails sent out that you must pre book? Why not put a notice on the front door saying that you must pre book a table?I will take on board your comments she said.10 days later I get an e mail telling me that Tristram the manager has been trying to contact me. Nothing on my phone old mate ! Dont know why you are trying to contact me Tristram. Audrey made the situation perfectly clear.An e mail from Head Office Green King is sent to me seeming to go back on what I was told. Yes we didnt have any internal tables. So you had plenty of outside tables then?Anyway readers enough of this.My advice is dont go to this place unless you have pre booked a table. If you cant do this then there are plenty of other eating places in this general area so never fear.I dont like leaving negative reviews as it affects peoples jobs and things are going to get bad enough as it is this winter.I can only say Nick MacKenzie. Dont fill your report with a load of meaningless phrases. Actions are what you need and turning people away is the last thing you need when you have loads of empty tables which it now turns per the latest Head Office e mail sent to me out werent booked till 5.00 p.m. I stood there at 4.20 p.m. !

A group of 8 people stopped here for a coffee at just after noon, there were a lot of unoccupied tables but we were turned away because we had not booked.We had been calling in at a similar time for some weeks previously and not had a problem.We all live in Torquay but will not visit this place again.We went elsewhere and had no problem.

We visited the sloop on Wednesday evening. For the first time since lockdown. We was greeted at the door and made to feel welcome and safe. A lady called Becca on the till was very happy and professional with her service. The food was great value for money. We will go back again for sure.

Starters were pretty good but went down hill with the main courses. Food was pretty much inedible, most of it was drier than the Sahara and you needed plenty of water to wash it down. I had no idea you could make chips as dry as this place did and I’ve never seen anyone have to cut mashed potato with a vigorous sawing action as my child had to on their meal. Staff are lovely but would never visit again.

The food was excellent once again, Becky was so lovely couldn’t do enough for us , she was brilliant

Government 50% off meals.. chicken nuggets chips pizza sides of carrot sticks and peas..Chicken pizza sandwiches it was huge...with chillies.. 1/2 chicken. Caribbean sauce. sweet potato fries.. onion rings. drinks only came to £24 or near abouts...staff were all very friendly polite to the kids and were all working their butts off. will definitely go back again..stayed for 3.5 hrs kids played in the park..all had a great afternoon. nicer since Green King took over..well done.

To be honest the place looked a tip when we arrived, I requested we leave as tables were loaded with dirty dishes from previous diners with staff going back to the kitchen empty handed. The staff behind the bar were friendly and helpful but expected you to be patient with getting a table due to being loaded and not cleaned. The main dining room was speckled with food droppings. We found a rear seating area and took the risk of ordering a pie offer and thought when in Rome we will join in the quiz night. Who ate all the pies? Well you would need 3 to find the fillings as they were very poor in quality. If you pride yourself on a good food reputation lose the cheap pies as they were rubbish with poor fillings. We shall not return...

We made a booking on a whim as we’d visited Torquay for the day and wanted to pop in for some dinner on the way home. What a great surprise!We fed two vegetarian grown-ups and two meat eating teenagers for an amazing price. Great deals on a Tuesday! Delicious food, great service and genuinely friendly staff who couldn’t be more helpful....for the price of a takeaway. I wish we lived a bit nearer.

Where to start food.3 x beef Sunday lunch cold Yorkshire pudding was extra extra crispy could have broken my teeth.Mums steak was more like burnt offering my 5 year old could have cooked better .The waiting staff where rude man and women where very rude .The only positive thing about this visit was the lady on the till taking orders she’s brilliant lovely smile and very polite We won’t be returning

Was absolutely fantastic night staff and manager was very welcoming and following social distancing it's my local pub but I will tell you that it is the most friendlyist pub you ever wish to go to all the bar staff are fantastic and floor staff are fantastic cannot fault any of them keep up the great work and hopefully see you all very soon

The meal was okay. Lots of empty tables which hadn’t been cleared. Not good in my opinion, especially as Staff were not busy.

We both ordered a steak sizzler and were disappointed with the quality of the food. Very tough steak and the peppers, onions etc weren't fresh and definitely had the consistency of frozen veg, i.e. mushy!

You get what you pay for! Cheap and large portions if that’s your thing you’ll be happy but the food isn’t great

Visited the Sloop in Kingskerswell again this week & once again received a friendly welcome & enjoyed our meals. Always a clean & tidy environment & the service is very good.

Had the chicken keebab wrap, wow was so nice . we ordered off their app sevice it was quick ,drinks cam over sright away didnt even have move lol. the manager came over and cleared all the plates away . great experance

It STUNK of stale pee. The service was terrible when we got there, there was absolutely no tables free not because of people but because they had left the plates and cutlery all over the table! After we sat down and waited for like 20 minutes we just moved our plates to the next table and had to wipe it down ourselves and after we had already finished everything the plates from other tables were still there!! It was incredibly noisy (but that is not the restaurant’s fault) and almost every chair was a different pattern it’s almost like they just bought every chair at every cheap market they could. Prices are quite high quality isn’t too great but not bad just wouldn’t say the food was worth the price. So overall I would NOT recommend u going. I don’t think it’s a bad thing if you do but other places are much better. If you or your friend/ family member etc are sensitive to noise or people or anything I wouldn’t recommend it because there is too many different patterns noises smells etc and it might be too overwhelming. If you do bring them my recommendation is to make sure to bring ear defenders music something to fiddle with and maybe sit outside or sit them near someone they are most comfortable with.

Half hour wait for drinks, that were sent to the wrong table. An hour and half wait for food, again went to the wrong table. Dessert had a wait put on it so we had to ask for it, was bored of waiting. One dessert came out and the inside was burnt, a skill in its self but certainly not satisfied, so that went back to the kitchen. Won’t be going back there anytime soon. Staff didn’t care and no apologies made for the lack of service tonight.

Cold food and very poor service. We’d booked a table which was labelled with our name but covered in crumbs and grime. The waitress brought out my dessert with the spoon fully submerged in the custard, she commented on it to her colleague then disappeared - no fresh spoon. Eggs were solid, everything but the hash browns cold. Won’t be back.

Arrived today and it was very busy but we found a table. Were told there was a 45 min wait but it arrived in 20 mins so good. The food we all had was very tasty and hot which you don't always get in places so that was good, had half chicken on a sizzling plate which was gorgeous, very moist and tasty as were the sweet potato chips and my husband's chicken in breadcrumbs equally hot and tasty, the kids loved their food too. Since we last came I think it's had a makeover so very nice compared to how it looked before, it must have a good name now as very busy. Staff very friendly and polite too. Will definately be back

Myself and my husband visited here for an evening meal, the daily offer was 2-4-1 on burgers due to dietary restrictions we needed to adjust the order slightly the gentleman who took our order was so helpful and all was soon sorted the meal was great and brilliant value we will definitely eat here again

Just had a lovely meal here, It was very busy and the staff were running around like crazy trying to please all the miserable muppets moaning that they’ve had to wait more than 30 minutes for food. We were told 45 minutes and waited just over an hour before we saw our food, but guess what .... IT WAS BUSY ... People really need to get over themselves, especially the people we saw stuffing their faces, then finding excuses to get their money back. How do you moan that the food is crap, but empty the plate? If you don’t want to wait when you can see how busy it is, stay home and cook for yourself. All staff need a pat on the back and a big pat on the back for the chefs that must’ve been drowning in orders. Food was lovely and we will be back.

Visited last night as part of a party. My food arrived in the last two of 16 ordered at the same time. The people who got theirs first had almost finished their meal when mine arrived. The chips were just luke warm, the peas and bacon were cold and the onion rings were soggy and luke warm. I did consider sending it back but then I would have been the only one left eating and everybody would be ready to go so I left the majority of the meal. There seemed to be minimal staff on duty and perhaps this was the case in the kitchen. I shan't be visiting again when there are so many better places to choose from.

They had ran out of half of the stuff on the menu, 5 out of 6 of our party had to re order as they had ran out of their choices. Including running out of the curries on curry night. Our meals arrived at different times. Some had finished their meals before ours arrived, we waited 40 mins for our food and it was gross when it arrived. Won't go back.

Came here months ago and it was terrible. Came back today and ordered a steak but said sorry no onion rings, didn’t even offer to give anything else in place. Sat down and a guy comes over and says sorry we have no salsa for your nachos do you still want them? Seriously? Who has nachos without the actual ingredients. Our meals came out at different times my sister nearly finished her meal before mine even came out which then my chips were just warm and the grilled tomatoes were barely cooked. Asked for some garlic mayo but ran out of that aswell! They serious need to sort it out. The lady with the blue hair is rude. Won’t be visiting again.

Popped in for a quick meeting. Very nice decor looks newly refurbished. Food was quick and very good. One of the best wraps I have had. Service was very friendly I will deffinatley be returning

I went to the Sloop just before Christmas with friends and was served by a young man called Owen. He delivered a fantastic service and all the other staff made us feel very welcome too! The food was amazing for the money we paid! Definately will be back! Thank you! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Now before I say what was wrong with today, can I point out I have eaten several times here before and always enjoyed it and have given it a 5* review a couple of months back. I am not sure what happened today. Staff were friendly, no issues there but seemed to be a major communication issue in the kitchen with food gradually arriving at the table. First of all, our cheesy pizza bread and crispy chicken arrived, it took a further 5-10 minutes for my main to arrive. I ordered the crispy chicken sandwich which was massive and looked amazing. Unfortunately they didn't put any nacho cheese in it which made the burger dry and horrible. We then had chips arrive which we didn't order and further more had to ask where the curry sauce was. From start to finish our food took 15 minutes to completely get to the table, leaving most of it, not good.

This place is amazing. Great service amazing food and a very warm welcome the two women lauren and Becca are amazing they will help you in anyway they can. They are so good at their jobs they couldn't do more to help and make me feel more welcome. Highly recommend going here.

We called in last Monday for Lunch & found the value for money fantastic. 24oz rump, gammon egg & chips, apple crumble & custard & a bottle of wine for £33. The only improvement might be more staff as the waitress seemed to do everything from take orders to deliver the food. Also big up for the adults area. All round A1.

The staff are unfriendly The food was cold and there was 9 of us and 2 people had their main meals and 4 people had their starters

This can be hit and miss like last visit my cod was lovely my mates all day breakfast his eggs had some shell on them but normally enjoy the food

Consistently good food at a good price with caring staff. I go here on a regular basis because they never let us down. I think they do the best 12 oz rump steak in the whole of the Torbaydos area

I have visited The Sloop numerous times over the Christmas period and am always impressed with the service and quality of the food. Also a very warm and friendly welcome from the staff specifically Becca, Sam and Lauren. We are very pleased to have as a local. Pete and Karen.

Service was poor and the food was horrendous!!! All the food has clearly been microwaved before being served to us. Would not recommend and will not be going again. Cheap food and now I know why!!

Went for a lovely walk on Monday to Stover with several members of my family afterwards we tried to think of somewhere cheap and cheerful to go for some grub this place certainly fitted the bill and didn’t let us down.

Well done once again The Sloop for an absolute brilliant night out for New Years Eve.

2 couples visiting, as have been several times before and have had brilliant service and food. Unfortunately this evening have received rude service from girl with blue hair. Shouting across the bar sarcastic comments. Brilliant customer service. Will no longer be visiting place unfortunately.

Went with my family and partner for food and drinks. Food very good and excellent value. Rebecca was particularly friendly and helpful thanks

Had the Boxing day meal not very happy with the meal starters ok mean not hot the pudding very small hair in pudding

We popped in last night for a bite to eat, we decided to use the new app to order, we found it quite temperamental and had to keep going back in to edit. Food came out promptly and piping hot, my half a chicken was cooked perfect and was not dry at all, dresses salad was lovely just not enough cucumber! My partner has the chicken skewers with Piri Piri sauce, we both feel there should be a warning on this as man it was so spicy.

It was a last minute decision to go out after a busy day and evening.
