The best restaurants serving British food in Ashburton and Buckfastleigh Teignbridge South West

Gutted, it has closed down! Went to an alternative trendy and pricey one and regretted it, hope you are enjoying your retirement guys, probably won't be returning to Ashburton, shame!

Now called Jenny's Café. Food was brilliant (the best hadh browns!), environment was clean, friendly & welcoming. My new local fave!

Feel fat AF, but was potentially the best burger I've ever eaten. All hail 'el diablo' 🙌

Fantastic bakery, cakes and bread were top quality. Good range of products that are produced in the premises . You can tell how great the cakes and breads etc are by how busy it is.

We turned up with a group of 15. No complaints - they cooked excellent food for us quickly and to a high standard. They also let us use an indoor space to eat. Great service, great food and very freindly.

We visited this lovely quant tea room for brunch. We had a perfect full English breakfast which had good Quality ingredients and tasted gorgeous. The tea room was clean and the staff friendly and helpful. We also had desserts for after and the coffee cake and crumble were also tasty. I will definitely be coming back again.

Spending a week in Buckfastleigh.Booked an evening table,because the Globe was the only pub doing food.Although dining area was quiet,the food was great,plus some good ale as well.Staff were great and the locals were very friendly Ended up booking a table every night .My brother and I had a great week,thanks to the Globe Inn

Nice atmosphere. Actually feels like a 'locals' pub. 👍

The food was mediocre, nothing to write home about. But what really put me off, was the way the cook was speaking to the lady taking orders. He was so rude to her when she was only doing her job. And she does it so well, I felt embarrassed for her. She's always efficient, smiley and happy to help. Usually the food is to a better standard, but the cook clearly had something going on tonight.

Stopped off for a drink after walking the local woodland. Lovely, friendly staff, great location right on the river, can imagine it would be lovely on a warm summer evening. The pub itself was lovely. Ended up having a simple brie and cheese baguette, but it was lovely served with a side salad and crisps. Would highly recommend a visit 😊 Can't comment on the rooms as we didn't stay but if the pub itself is anything to go by I wouldn't hesitate to book a room.

Came in here yesterday for drinks for my birthday... Decent little place.. Decent larger... And friendly staff... Very Good...

I went to the grange for a nice Sunday roast with my family and most of us came back sad disappointed and a bit angry. The potatoes were hard and what seems to be Stale the vegetables were near inedible. I will say the meat was really nice but what really made us all sad and disappointed the kitchen staff were really rude. Other than young lady on the till a couple others. Safe to say I won’t be going back in a rush and definitely will not recommend to others.

I believe this pub was recently sold off by Heavitree after many years of neglect. I'm not sure they do food yet but I was very impressed by the lady behind the bar (Kelly?). She knows her job and has a very good rapport with the customers. We'll be going again.

I can’t understand why this lovely cafe gets such bad reviews The owner is always pleasant, the coffee is excellent, the menu is interesting, there are large clean seating areas and wonderful views. What more could you ask. I’m really worried that this excellent cafe will be forced to close and there will be no choice but the truly dreadful Starbucks nearby. Now I shall keep driving past that.
