Last year we discovered the unattended converted horse box near Devonport Park but in January we found the established shop/cafe in Albert Road. Very friendly and good selection of food all home baked. We think round the back of this cafe.

Great service from Billy Nichol (Manager) he was a wonderful and accommodating young man. Having come from Kent for a visit he ensured we had a lovely breakfast meal. He also went above and beyond when I left my sunglasses in the pub - delivering them directly back to me, safe and sound. Best regards, Lucy

Just spent a few hours in the beer garden on a Saturday afternoon. I was shocked at the state of it. Nearly every table with empty glasses and so much rubbish on the floor. Looked like it's not been brushed for weeks. It wasn't busy so no excuse. We watched every server deliver a drink and the first hour no one cleared a table after serving the drink. Then as it seemed busier some young men workers when serving a drink then took a few empty glasses down. One young girl worker constantly delivered drinks looked at the messy tables and just walked on. Tables filthy. Floor filthy. We visit lots of wetherspoons around the south West and this has always been the worst. Unfortunately this is our local one and only visit occasionally as never happy here. Hopefully the management will work on their employees to actually do better .

Came here for some food and coffees. The only thing that was nice was the drinks. The bread on our hotdogs, burger and sandwich was dry and chips didn't look cooked enough. My dad asked for a bacon baguette which they don't do even though they had bacon and baguettes. Won't be eating there again.

After looking forward to afternoon tea at this hotel I was extremely disappointed with the whole experience. Although in a beautiful setting the afternoon tea was disappointing, Luke warm tea, poor sandwich’s and no staff around. We spent half an hour waiting for staff to attend once we were seated then waited again for the tea etc. Not something I expected from this hotel. Staff service was extremely poor and the whole occasion lacked atmosphere. I would not recommend this experience for the price it cost.

Absolutely love coming here for lunch or even just a cuppa and cake. I am coeliac so it’s hard to find places to eat where I feel safe and happy to eat and know there will not be ill effects. The jacket potatoes are done in a proper separate oven and the toppings are all separate and the salad toppings are all put onto the plate with individual tongs. It tastes delicious, great sized portions. They also do gluten feee bread and sometimes the soup is suitable for me as well. A massive bonus for me as a cake lover is there is always plenty of choice for a coeliac sweet tooth like me lol! The atmosphere there is always lovely the staff are so friendly and polite. Tim always has time to say hello always has a smile and remembers his customers! Clean environment, first class food what’s not to love! We will continue to be regulars!

Best carvery in Plymouth no doubt about it. The meat is always so soft and tender, hardly any fat on the beef and get plenty of it. There’s a huge selection of veg, more than you can think of. There’s kitchen staff seem nice enough but some of the bar staff/waiters are so miserable and seem like they cannot be bothered to serve you. You need to book to avoid disappointment or you may have a very long wait for a table

Great chippie years ago but I’ve had 3 or more rough meals in the last few months. Never again will my family ever go back . I ordered large fish and chips…. and charged for it. It was a bit under cooked and small and the chips were mainly little gribbles. It’s like they buy bags of cut offs with no bigger chips in there. Not for me I’m afraid.

Wouldn’t even rate it a 1. Panini was meant to be cheese and tomato however no cheese in it. Portions were meant to come out at same time but forgot cheesy chips. Chips came out cold, with a pile of unmelted cheese on top. Can’t believe I paid around £13 for this. Service is terrible too.
