We were staying at Whitemead Forest Park and went to the Fountain Inn for dinner on two evenings. WE didn't take our dog with us although the pub welcomes dogs in the bar area. We had to book 24 hours in advance for both evenings and it is nice to see the pub being so popular. The welcome when we entered was warm and welcoming, and after ordering drinks we were shown to our table. Food service was very good with friendly staff. We had spring rolls, bruschetta, pork tenderloin, steak, moules, whisky chicken and chicken and mushroom pie. All were really good with portions that were generous. On our second night there were three menus: Valentines, Main and £10 Winter Warmer. What was so good was that we could mix and match from any menus, and the menu prices were sensible. Overall a nice place to spend an evening with good food and drink and friendly service.

A lovely place to go for a meal whether with family or a loved one. I love the food here the girls who serve u are really friendly. I am regular who either for a lighter meal I love a prawn baguette comes with small side of chips. This time I treated myself to there 20oz mixed grill cooked to your liking.

My partner and I had dinner here over the May bank holiday, it was our first time visiting. The restaurant itself is lovely, light and airy with beautiful views over the adjacent vineyard. Very attentive and friendly service from Marta. We shared a few plates between us, everything was tasty, and there was a reasonable vegetarian selection. I thought overall the menu was quite pricey, and portions on the small side (even for tapas/light bites).

This is is our favourite for weekday lunch, but not tried a Sunday before ,4 of us and 2 chose pink roast beef,1 went for well done beef and the last one had the steak and ale pie. It came with vegatables roasters............Well..we just could not fault it,every dish was spot on,we followed with various sweets which after the generous starters left us all fully sated, with hungry people, our table was 1.15pm,the restaurant was nearly full and buzzing with hungry people ,the service was spot-on.just to finish ,the bill, was £20.00 per 3 courses or £17.50 for 2 so with £ 2.50 between 2 or 3 courses it would be poor judgement not to opt for 3. outstanding value of fresh local ingredients from a Very talented team.

We came here for lunch after visiting Ross on wye in the morning. We had lunch in the orangery. I would technically say this is a 4.5* review as wasn't perfect but very good. When we got there the lady serving seemed a bit stressed as it was busy but she had help about half way through. I had the sausage & mash, the BEST sausage & mash I've ever had. If they added onions to it in some description it would be 12/10. So yummy. Pudding was nice but not as wow as the main. Good value for money. Everyone at our table said it was the best meal of the week.

We were staying in a nearby cottage. Went one night and had the most amazing roast chicken between 3. The staff were lovely and regularly came to check if we needed our drinks topping up. Enjoyed it so much we booked in for the Sunday night fondue and quiz night - again food was great and staff very welcoming. The quiz was a laugh! Definitely recommend!

Great pub great food, good choice of menu and very reasonable price. Couldn’t fault what we had . The waitress even asked if we had any allergies which is a plus for myself as I’m coeliac. Would recommend visiting plus free parking for motor home over night . Another plus .

Just had a delightful afternoon tea yesterday at this lovely little spot and cannot recommend it highly enough. We have sampled afternoon tea in many top notch hotels and none of them come close to what the Cake room offers. Fresh home made soup to start followed by scones with jam and cream, a selection of sandwiches and wraps, gorgeous sausage rolls and a wonderful selection of sweet treats and all home made. Absolutely beautiful and enough left over to fill two large boxes to take home. We will def be back. Welll done to the owner and the lovely staff working there!

This is my favourite coffee shop ever, I go here regularly or even if I’m driving through I’ll grab a coffee for takeaway. The staff are so lovely and present themselves really well. If you’re ever looking for an aesthetic, nice coffee shop to go with your friends/family or even by yourself to do work I highly recommend this one. The interior is so pretty, and their menu is incredible. I cannot slate their milkshakes/frappes at all. They also have a dessert section that changes weekly, with loads of different cakes/brownies ext. definitely worth the visit if your looking for your new favourite coffee shop!💕

visited the silver fox yesterday 15th may with my wife, we have been a few times to this Cafe and usually the portions are a little on the small side but its been a good experience. how ever yesterday was a big let down to say the least, I usually have the faggot, chips and peas which is what I asked for this day, when it arrived I couldn't believe the size of the faggot it is always one on the small size but this was one very very small cut into two, each piece being the size of my thumb (mine are on the normal size!!) I did complain and they bought out another one. My wife ordered the cheese salad which comes with a half baguette the cheese salad was of a poor portion just a bit of lettuce half a thinly sliced Tomato ,3 pieces of cucumber a small smattering of grated cheese plus a little pot of salad cream tucked inside the bowl(bowl very nice!!) when she came to cut open her bread for buttering she couldn't , I couldn't either it was rock hard!!, I offered to complain but she refused saying we probably wont be back so I didn't . shame really such a nice little Cafe. Faggot, chips and peas £10.95 Cheese salad £8.95 note, not that cheap .
