Erols Sandwich Bar in Forest of Dean

Love this place, great service, food is always good, hot, fresh and tasty. Prices are very reasonable and coffee great. I love breakfast here and can highly recommend.

I quite often work in Newent and will always pop in for a breakfast. Very friendly staff and lovely food, reasonably priced too!!

Great coffee and food served with a smile and very reasonably priced too. Lovely courtyard at the back to sit out in on a warm, sunny day. We'll definitely be returning.

We struggled to find somewhere to eat in Newent until we spotted this café. Friendly warm welcome from the lovely staff. Plenty of outside tables in a small courtyard as well as the indoor ones. The large all day breakfast was unbelievable value for money, as was my lasagne, served with coleslaw, very fresh salad and fries. If you want somewhere to eat in Newent this is the place.

It is the best cafe in Newent, if not the Forest of Dean. The food never fails, the coffee perfect and the staff are genuinely lovely people.

We use for takeaway most weekdays and sit in most weekends, great breakfast menu and fresh take away baguettes are spot on.... Never disappointing.

Food is good but be prepared to wait a long time for it to arrive! took 45 mins this morning for 2 poached eggs, will be going somewhere else next time.

Today we visited with a party of 9 of us. Breakfast was amazing. We all ordered our food separately and yet it all came out at same time and it was piping hot. We did not have to wait too long before food arrived and have to say breakfast was very good value for money. You certainly get your money's worth and it is not over priced be any means. The staff were friendly and very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We saw other food being served to other diner's and the portion sizes look really big. We will definitely be returning again very soon.

Came here a lot of mornings of weekends for a panini or bacon bap, the food was always good and the staff were friendly. Just the type of local cafe you want for a coffee and a bite to eat.

We go here twice a week for lunch. Great value and excellent food. Very popular with locals - always a good sign!

We had three veggie breakfasts a panini and a burger and chips and all of it was perfectly cooked and presented. The drinks were all good and hot apart from the hot chocolate for my son which they thoughtfully made less hot. Fantastic food at low prices - we will be back.

Excellent value for a fry up. large portions, great prices and not dripping in fat/grease. If you're looking for a hearty breakfast this is the place.

Went in for a full fryed breakfast Very disgusted with being offered deep fryed sausages which were frozen But plenty to more to eat on the plate and price not bad

Been going to Erol’s for years,always friendly, food is always fab and just a lovely relaxed visit every time. Like visiting your favourite aunt. Couldn’t recommend more highly- wish there were ten stars!

We stopped here for breakfast - it was a good value price, but the breakfast and the service was nothing special.

This is my fourth review of the cafe and I have to say it is so excellent it is like a second home to me because the staff treat me like a grown up and they are always polite and happy to help. The lasagne and chips with salad and coleslaw was very nice and the coffee and cookie for pudding was good like I usually have.Well done Erols Cafe for always being excellent. Every time I come here I always feel good and happy to see my friends and eat wonderful food. I will be back in September.

I visited Erols for the 3rd time today. The cheeseburger with chips is always good. The staff Dawn, Asim, Lisa, Megg, and Amy were very welcoming, polite and helpful as always! I love this cafe and will be visiting again in 2 weeks! Thank you for making this an excellent cafe Team Vaughan-Erol!

Very nice coffee and hot chocolate. Food is average but fairly priced and decent sized portions. Nice place to meet with friends

Tasty food & great value for money!! Very nice friendly cafe in the centre of town which serve breakfast all day long, including breakfast rolls & baps and lots of other food like sandwiches, salads & cooked food all makes to order. Would definitely go again!! 2 of us & 1 child ordered a 2 pots of tea, 2 breakfast baguettes, a milkshake and toast all for under £10!!

Did not find the previous, ises that nice needs refurbished, ,and loud atmosphere, did not think fod was that nice had to send a fork back as not washed properly ,won't visit again ,staff scruffy ,and unhelpful

This is the second time that I have visited Erols Cafe(first being in June last year) and I know the lovely staff there including Dawn the manager, Asim the chef, Lisa the barista and Sophie the waitress and my best friend was there too with her family. The cheeseburger with chips, salad and coleslaw was absolutely delicious as always and the ice cream was yummy too. Well done Dawn, Asim, Lisa, and Sophie for making this a wonderful cafe and well done to my best friend too who made my day special. Will definitely be back soon!

Not just a Sandwich Bar! This is a fabulous Café. Pop in for Breakfast and ask at the counter for what you want and it is cooked to order and very tasty. Lunch was a delight, you can choose from what is being cooked that day. I notice they do Take-away coffees, milkshakes, ice cream, salads and sandwiches, cake etc., oh it is a treat. The family that run it were so friendly, helpful and the service was great. Proper Job.

Me fui con mi grupo y el segundo hoy gloscol entramos en lo que un servicio al cliente excelente!. Hablé con el gerente y el chef dawn y Asim fueron sumamente amables con una sonrisa agradable! Pedí la hamburguesa con patatas fritas, ensalada y col y fue la mejor comida que he probado en un café! Había helado después que disfruté y el dueño me dawn mostró cómo hacerlo. Café del brillante que realmente son Erol. Dawn, Lisa, Sophie y Asim que son los mejores camareros, cocineros jamás! Es realmente el mejor café del mundo!

Tenemos comidas regularmente, y llevar a mi familia de seis en este café amable, nunca tuvimos una mala comida, barato y muy sabroso freah gran ambiente con comida, café Lavazza y agradable personal, altamente recomendado!

Este es un buen café en el High St. sirven buena y fresca comida caliente a precios sumamente razonables. Nada pretencioso, es una cafetería que sirve café comida y buen café. Toda la comida preparada fresca y más que generoso - delicioso de las porciones!

Stopped by for a simple quick light lunch with my son and husband. It was thoroughyl delicious. You can see the fresh food being prepared to order and service was very fast indeed and the prices excellently reasonable.

Good clean home cooked food with great latte at a reasonable price. Well worth the visit. I use Errol's quite often and have watched it develop over the months into a first class friendly place to eat

We stopped for lunch and had a panini, chips, wedges and a couple of coffees and some cake. The portions were very generous and the cakes were delicious. Prices were very reasonable too. Would definitely go here again if in Newent.

This lovely cafe has such good value for money, lovely friendly staff who go our of there way to make you feel welcome!! The food is fresh and tastes amazing!! Would recommend this place to anyone for breakfast, lunch even for afternoon tea, overall 10/10 for me !

We stopped off for a bite in Newent and my first 2 trip advisor choices, where closed. We chose Erols sandwich bar as an unknown. At fist glance it's a Light and spacious cafe, that is surprisingly large inside. The food isn't fancy, but down to earth, with surprisingly generous portions. So it won't win any prizes for style and there are no pretentious dollies or lace curtain, it's not trying to be anything but what it is, a cafe. There was a small selection of home made cakes and they served pots of proper leaf tea So you might not get cudoz for taking your friends to this plane jane spot, but you'd certainly score points for generous down to earth food that gave value for money. Tea £1.20. Bacon and cheese panini so served with fries and a side salad, £3.
