visited the silver fox yesterday 15th may with my wife, we have been a few times to this Cafe and usually the portions are a little on the small side but its been a good experience. how ever yesterday was a big let down to say the least, I usually have the faggot, chips and peas which is what I asked for this day, when it arrived I couldn't believe the size of the faggot it is always one on the small size but this was one very very small cut into two, each piece being the size of my thumb (mine are on the normal size!!) I did complain and they bought out another one. My wife ordered the cheese salad which comes with a half baguette the cheese salad was of a poor portion just a bit of lettuce half a thinly sliced Tomato ,3 pieces of cucumber a small smattering of grated cheese plus a little pot of salad cream tucked inside the bowl(bowl very nice!!) when she came to cut open her bread for buttering she couldn't , I couldn't either it was rock hard!!, I offered to complain but she refused saying we probably wont be back so I didn't . shame really such a nice little Cafe. Faggot, chips and peas £10.95 Cheese salad £8.95 note, not that cheap .

We were heading home after a weekend away in the area and decided to call in for a bite of breakfast. Absolutely spot on! Friendly staff, quick service, good food, and some quirky decor - what's not to like?! Would happily call in again next time we're in the area

We decided to have Sunday lunch out at short notice. We called and booked a table for 1:30, not knowing how busy it would be. It's a relatively small cafe with loads of history and character on its history page. This was our first visit since moving into Lydney, about 20 mins away. It was almost full so we're glad we booked. The traditional roast dinner was large portions of meat. I had a slice of each and then it was self service for the veg. £12 each for the Carvery. Deliciously cooked . We had desserts of Cheesecake and Red velvet cake with coffee to follow. The total price for the meal was £41. There is an extensive menu on offer. The The staff were excellent. We will be visiting again.

Visited a couple of times recently and on each occasion have not been disappointed. Second time I might have been overcharged for food - breakfast baguette and coffee £9?! Anyway, that besides the food was good and the coffee very nice. Staff / owners are down to earth and friendly which is refreshing. Very clean restaurant and the loo was AMAZINGLY clean. Good for families. I give it a thumbs up and will defo be back again

Usually get a great service and meal from Blakeney Chip In but they seem to be letting their standards slide recently. Last time I ordered the wait was far longer than indicated or expected, I called and it arrived maybe 10 minutes later. Ordered tonight at 18:13, app said delivery was 45 minutes however showed delivery time as 19:19 (66 minutes). At 19:20 I checked again and it mysteriously had been pushed back to 19:59. I gave it 10 or so mins and called the takeaway to be told "it's on the way" (I didn't give my name or address so I presume there was some other way to identify me and they were not just telling everyone the same thing). By this time the app was now telling me delivery would be 20:29 (more than 2 and a quarter hours after placing the order). It actually arrived at 20:00 and the quality was less than perfect. The chips were undercooked and not to the usual standard and they had been packed and wrapped for some time judging by the way the wrapping paper was stuck to the chips. Very disappointing as I have regularly praised the service here and recommended to visitors and other locals. Please don't let your standards slip, I can't be bothered to hunt around for a new chippie.

Avoid at all costs. Received £100 parking fine for stopping here for 30mins. Signs are not lit up in the dark, not made aware of requirements for permit. Absolutely disgusting management

The Roast Potato That Changed My Life ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (Would sell my soul for another) I have seen the light, and it is golden brown, crispy, and glistening with just the right amount of oil. This roast potato wasn’t just food; it was a religious experience. One bite, and I swear I heard a choir of angels singing in the distance. The exterior? A perfect crunch that could shatter the foundations of weak-willed diets. The inside? Fluffier than a cloud that’s just been through a premium car wash. The seasoning? So well-balanced it deserves its own TED Talk. I don’t know who made this masterpiece, but I’d like to shake their hand (or marry them). I briefly considered carrying a tiny velvet ring box and proposing on the spot. If I could legally adopt this potato, I would. In conclusion, if all potatoes were like this, I’d never eat anything else. 12/10. Life-changing. I am a new person now.
