visited the silver fox yesterday 15th may with my wife, we have been a few times to this Cafe and usually the portions are a little on the small side but its been a good experience. how ever yesterday was a big let down to say the least, I usually have the faggot, chips and peas which is what I asked for this day, when it arrived I couldn't believe the size of the faggot it is always one on the small size but this was one very very small cut into two, each piece being the size of my thumb (mine are on the normal size!!) I did complain and they bought out another one. My wife ordered the cheese salad which comes with a half baguette the cheese salad was of a poor portion just a bit of lettuce half a thinly sliced Tomato ,3 pieces of cucumber a small smattering of grated cheese plus a little pot of salad cream tucked inside the bowl(bowl very nice!!) when she came to cut open her bread for buttering she couldn't , I couldn't either it was rock hard!!, I offered to complain but she refused saying we probably wont be back so I didn't . shame really such a nice little Cafe. Faggot, chips and peas £10.95 Cheese salad £8.95 note, not that cheap .

We were heading home after a weekend away in the area and decided to call in for a bite of breakfast. Absolutely spot on! Friendly staff, quick service, good food, and some quirky decor - what's not to like?! Would happily call in again next time we're in the area

We decided to have Sunday lunch out at short notice. We called and booked a table for 1:30, not knowing how busy it would be. It's a relatively small cafe with loads of history and character on its history page. This was our first visit since moving into Lydney, about 20 mins away. It was almost full so we're glad we booked. The traditional roast dinner was large portions of meat. I had a slice of each and then it was self service for the veg. £12 each for the Carvery. Deliciously cooked . We had desserts of Cheesecake and Red velvet cake with coffee to follow. The total price for the meal was £41. There is an extensive menu on offer. The The staff were excellent. We will be visiting again.

Visited a couple of times recently and on each occasion have not been disappointed. Second time I might have been overcharged for food - breakfast baguette and coffee £9?! Anyway, that besides the food was good and the coffee very nice. Staff / owners are down to earth and friendly which is refreshing. Very clean restaurant and the loo was AMAZINGLY clean. Good for families. I give it a thumbs up and will defo be back again

A wonderful first visit to The Miners Arms. They did everything right, from initial welcome to friendly goodbye. A masterclass that many other pubs could usefully pay attention to! Recommended!

We arrived early for lunch on a Wednesday as we have a very large Dobermann dog and wanted to make sure there was space for him We were greeted by a lovely young lady and shown to our table. The fire was roaring as we walked in and we knew straight away we had found the perfect Cotswolds pub Lunch was delicious,we had the Welsh rarebit, washed down with a mulled wine and a pint of local lager Service was outstanding, friendly and efficient. Our Dobermann got plenty of strokes too! Highly recommend this place. Not sure that you will find any better in the Cotswolds. A lovely setting too!

They said that i could order chips but be cooked in a different fryer due to my celiac disease but when asked they wouldn't do it due to being busy. I don't get to have takeaways now and this was a treat but was let down. Lovey feedback from them 👇👇 well mannered 👍 avoid if you have dietary requirements.
