Great chips, I had kebab meat and it was perfect and more than I could eat and I was proper hungry. Chili sauce is quite hot so I advise you get it served in the corner so chips and Donner can be dipped at leisure

Popped in to get cod and chips, with some curry sauce to eat up at Mallards Pike on a lovely, sunny evening. Have driven past and thought about doing this a number of times and this time, we stopped. We were not disappointed. Service was very efficient and friendly. Price was very reasonable and I would say on par with every other chippy I've been to in the area. The food was delicious, very tasty indeed. Food portion size, not too much just right. The curry sauce was a real hit. Most definitely going back. TY

What a little gem, tucked away in the village of Blakeny. You'd think that a village of just 1,300 (according to the 2021 census), wouldn't boast a takeaway of this level. We first popped in about 7 years ago, and have only returned once before today. Thankfully, there has been no change to the plaice [I'll get my coat...], perhaps it's better - as the range of food available has increased. From your standard Fish & Chips (which you've just GOT to try, to hear the crunch of the batter on the fish, and taste the lack of permeated cooking oil - so nothing can swim back to the sea in it!), battered sausage, mushy peas (no apologies - I'm from the North!), etc, to Burgers 🍔, Kebabs, the list goes on (thankfully the menu is online https://blakeneychipin.co.uk/ ) - and let's not forget the vegan options! But I'm not vegan, nor vegetarian (each to their own - we are all permitted to choose in this country - up until now, at least) - so let's weigh in on what we managed to sample! The fish & chips I've already covered, but assuming you don't want that from a chippy (you're MAD to miss it. Go on, give it a go. No? Fair enough - your choice), here's my untutored tongue talking: - Lamb kebab. One that tastes of Lamb! Not overpowering in spices, but beautifully flavoured to compliment the meat. Unusually, and another customer brought my attention to this, you can get different thickness meat! If you don't want wafer thin meat in yours, ask for it thicker - you don't get a larger portion, but you DO end up that has a better texture. Want it hot? Try their sauces - holy moly...🤯🥵 - Chicken kebab. A kebab, upright in front of the burner, but when trimmed comes off in small chunks of chicken. A personal favourite of mine, and I wasn't let down. Perfectly balanced to give you a far more authentic northern Mediterranean style food. Stunning. - Burger. We were told it was nice. I say that, because it just seemed to VANISH. I've still no idea HOW such a chunky burger - the patty bit - managed to disappear into the smallest member of our group. She then proceeded to lay on the floor groaning as she'd eaten it SO darned fast! Whatever you want with the burger (cheese, lettuce, tomato, a great list that would take up too much room - but no gurkins were harmed in the making of these!), get it "Your Way" as another company may say... - Fish Cake A lovely crispy cake, with a lovely smooth texture, and a gentle taste of fish (otherwise it'd kinda defeat the object...) - Battered Sausage. Tastes like a sausage in batter - but crucially crispy batter. - Unbattered Sausage. As above, but without a crunch...🤷🏻‍♂️ That was the end of our experience, and everything was still lovely and warm despite having to drive the 20mins back home (I did have the blowers on max temperature for the foot well, and needed my window open as a result 😂. It was early April, and a brisk 6°C outside.) for everyone to tuck in. Nice one, Blakeney Chip In. Great to see you're still producing fabulous food, midweek, and years after our first visit. Unfortunately, I've got no pictures, as we just dived in without thinking - come on, when food's this good, you would too!

Had OAP fish and chips.Fish was cold and greesy. Very disappointing. Would NOT recommend. Even the dog refused yo eat any of it.

Owner changed, we had dinner in 2020, a lot has changed with the current owner. The food was great and the staff was very polite. We were very pleased with a clean and tidy service.

Ordered chips to be delivered and they were very tasty big portion sizes so next time I will order a small chips they did forget one item of my order but that's because it was busy so that means it's the best chippy ever 😊

Really good fish and chips. Very large portions. Catered for 8 people (ordered food online) very well... Ordered about 1/2hr before we picked up. We had scampi, fish cakes, cod and everyone thought the food was great.

Highly recommended by myself the food was hot the service quick the portions were perfectly generous! But deffo not over quality because that was there too! The owners changed in the past few months and the new owners are excellent. The food is superb, a great asset to a small village and best of all they deliver too! The staff are always friendly and the chip portions are MASSIVE! Great curry sauce too!

I was very surprised to discover this gem on the doorstep of a holiday cottage in the Forest of Dean. The food is delicious - crispy batter, fluffy chips, huge portions and service with genuine interest in your happiness. Very considerate staff and brilliant to have so close by. I miss the food when I am not in the area.

Nothing special but above average. But big up them for not wasting food. 5 stars because they have signed up with the goody bag app which is a great way to reduce wastage. Other places would just chuck there leftovers in the bin which is unacceptable

Not sure why you do too good to go bags when you look at people with disgust when collecting. don't offer the service if you don't want it being used. The 2 ladies behind the counter were lovely it was just the owner. Will not be returning. times are hard for everyone and maybe you might consider that people using this service are in need.

Really disappointed with the food we recieved here. Food was cold and inedible. Chips were so salty it burned our mouths and we didnt eat the scampi as it was mushy and raw. Staff were friendly although we really wish we had better food.

Fish and chips ok. Stand outside and they write down your order from inside but forgot one item which is annoying. Only realised back at campsite, didn't check when items were passed over as they had it in writing what our order was. How hard is it?

We moved in across the road recently to the old pub, and this chips shop has been a god send ☺️ the food is always consistent and very good. I've not been over much myself as I'm always running around. But I see They always makes a massive effort with anyone who walks past. I'd go as far as saying the best chippy in the forest 🫣🤗❤️🍟some of these low reviews on here honestly sound like complete rubbish going of what I see daily x

Try the 2 faggotts with Gravy chips and mushy peas! Was very nice, chips could have been nicer but good deal for £5.20. The pensioners special fish and chips was £4.70. They serve you at the door no admittance due to Covid.

Waited 20 minutes for 2 Curry and chips. No other customers around . I asked how much longer. told they were making the curry. Very cold outside waiting. Won't be returning .

The fish and chips from this shop were ghastly. Long wait dispute telephone order. Chips soggy and greasy and had to be re-fried to make them edible Two pieces of expensive haddock were also very greasy and hardly cooked. Borh if us had tumny upsets the next day and so hygiene standards could be grim.y WE SHALL NEVER RETURN and suggest that you are thinking of gett8ng a meal from them perhaps you should think again.
