Very welcoming, accepts dogs, good English food, very reasonably priced and lovely service. Inside it’s a bit worn down and dated but didn’t bother us as it had everything we wanted.

Stinks of stale chip fat. Unseasoned bland food. Definately one to avoid. Wouldn't rate it a one if I had the option.

Only been to the 3 hill street a few times but have has such a pleasant experience. Great atmosphere and the kids enjoyed running around the garden. Would be going back shortly x

As under new management we popped in for a light bite, food was good and staff very friendly couldn't fault it, definitely going back

very nice friendly staff. Reasonable prices for soft drinks. Staff always have a smile on their faces which makes it more inviting and welcoming. Also free wifi available with is helpful.

Having eaten here at various times ,we particularly enjoyed the breakfast they gave us in August 2017. We tried this morning to repeat the pleasurable experience, to find the doors locked and no breakfasts to be had .This was very disappointing as the sign outside stated it was 'open' .I hope that the proprietors will offer breakfasts again as it was the best to be had ,in town .

I went with a group for our annual Christmas meal. We were sat in an unheated room, most of our party kept their coats on. The presentation of the starters was poor, thick slices of duck with some bagged leaves, a huge bowl of salty bland soup and other inedible delights. Then the main course. The risotto was tasteless, vegetables that were hardly cooked, inedible meat and jugs of gravy with drips all down the sides. It reminded us of school dinners! The desserts were no better - rock hard individual Christmas puddings, some kind of sour apple pie and "cheesecake" that was in fact whipped cream on a hard biscuit base. The worst experience any of us had ever had in a restaurant.

Went for food up the legion this weekend, best roast I've had for a long time! Service was spot on, can't fault it!! Would recommend to anyone

Having booked this venue's restaurant as early as last March for a lunch in September, we had hoped to give this venue a good opportunity to prove themselves. However, we'd been asked to move our time forward at the last minute, because of a double-booking and we were put in the saloon bar rather than the restaurant. Advance numbers and menu choices the week before didn't seem to help as several of our group waited 15 minutes or more than the rest for their main course which came not as warm as hoped. The service was rather slow (presumably because they were trying to cope with two groups at the same time) and didn't seem sufficient staff to cope. Perhaps ideal for one or two people to turn up at any one time, but it would appear groups are difficult to cater for, however small.

If you enjoy a pub that you have to wait to for the staff to finish their chat to be served and where the local customers shout "Oi" followed by a loud whistle to get bar service then this is the pub for you. I went elsewhere.

Very inviting from the outside with flowers and a small seating area. You can see the steam trains as they pass. Nice decor inside and a good section of drinks from the pump. Only had a drink this time but will go back for a meal.

Having eaten here previously , when we noticed they were now offering breakfasts, on the way back from the local market ,we decided to stop in and try them out .Despite not opening properly for another 10 minutes ,we were welcomed in by the lovely staff and they introduced themselves as the new owners .The breakfast was really tasty -a full 'English' with orange juice and tea/ coffee for £5.50 ! The juice was delicious and a welcome addition .The food was really nice and non greasy . I would highly recommend popping in, as you will not be disappointed with the food or the welcome!

lovely food here. The only downside is evening meals start at 7pm, Shame as prefer dinner earlier because children needs to be in bed at 8pm

Great place to eat @ sensible prices, Sunday lunches are great as well. Clean and tidy, friendly bar and waiting staff. Great to have a drink with friends and family..

Great food, nothing fancy just good pub grub. EXCELLENT Sunday Lunch (MUST BE pre-booked). Very friendly staff and an excellent addition to the town using a wonderful facility for everyone now not just a few.

Llegamos en Lydney no saber nada sobre la zona y encontré 3 Hill Street cuando buscando un lugar para cenar. Nos pareció que el personal era muy amable y acogedor. La comida estaba bien preparada, sabrosa y las porciones muy generosas. Sólo estuvimos en la zona 1 noche o nos hemos vuelto a probar otras opciones de menú, ya que había una muy buena selección.

Lo suficientemente agradable lugar para unas cervezas y no demasiado caro, Sky Sports, etc. Inconveniente s, aseos para caballeros y el bar son asquerosa apesta de chip grasa hasta el punto de hacer tu ropa apesta.

Aproximadamente una vez al mes tenemos el placer de disfrutar de café, té, pasteles y pudines en el Hall @ 3 Watney Hill Street. Música mientras tango argentino, parejas aprovechan cada otros y tome un columpio en la pista de baile de madera el personal amable en el bar nos suministros con el mejor Domingo de delicias. Los precios son moderados. Seguro que volveremos.

Clásicos británicos - pescado y patatas fritas, lasaña, había chili, tikka masala, etc. Extraordinariamente bajos precios (6£ 7 porciones) y adecuada - no skimping. Tuvimos un servicio del director. Gran lugar para ir con unos amigos, más tranquila que un pub, probablemente, pero con todas las comodidades y más. Muy recomendable por la relación calidad-precio si estás en o cerca de Lydney. Limpio, agradable, con todas las comodidades básicas a la derecha.

A good place to meet, drink and eat in a clean and welcoming atmosphere. The friendly staff make you feel that nothing is too much trouble. A large function hall is available upstairs and there is a snooker room as well.

We thoroughly enjoyed the excellent meal in a very clean and welcoming environment. The waitresses are friendly, helpful and very well turned out. A very varied menu to suit every palate. A real pleasure ! Very highly recommend.

He cenado con amigos dos veces en este restaurante local agradable y sin pretensiones y no me ha decepcionado en ninguna ocasión. El menú es bastante tradicional, pero bien preparada y presentada. El servicio es atento y agradable especialmente amable. Una de las camareras, Kayleigh, era muy impresionante. Ella recordaba mi primera visita varias semanas antes, y que necesitaba una comida que era libre de gluten. Cuando estoy en Lydney nuevo sin duda volveré y espero con ansia el servicio cálido y amable.

The atmosphere was welcoming, the food was good, and the service was excellent. The drinks were very sensibly priced.
