The best restaurants serving British food in St Ives North Cornwall, Isles of Scilly South West

Unfortunately we did not have a good experience this evening. We were looking forward to visiting after a recommendation from a family member but the food was not good. I ordered the chicken burger (which was the most expensive burger on the menu) and it came out cold, there was no Sweet & Salty Bacon Jam like advertised and the chips/onion rings were cold. I told the bar staff and they apologised and said they'd sort it out. A new burger was given to me and it was hot but again for the second time there was no sweet and salty bacon jam so it definitely wasn't a mistake the first time round. The chips and onion rings were also still cold. The drinks were no better. I ordered a pint of diet coke which arrived flat, I told the bar staff and they said they checked the gas and it was fine (it definitely wasn't as the drink was completely and utterfly flat, no bubbles at all) I asked for a different diet drink for them to tell me they've had no other diet drinks only a can of full fat coke, a can of full fat fanta, J20's or alcohol all of which are full of sugar. I was very shocked at that. The bar staff did kindly take the burger off the bill and gave me a free drink to apologise but that didn't stop our evening being ruined and being disappointed with the food and drink. It was really poor. We would have had a better and cheaper meal in Brewers Fayre. From our experience tonight we would not recommend this pub and will not be visiting again

Brilliant pasties and also tried the pizza which was amazng and also the toasted paninis and again, excellent. Really friendly guy in charge and made us feel very welcome. Even let my 8 year old have a free panini because we were so polite. 🤣 Went back 2 more times the food was so good. Wish I lived closer ( I don't think they deliver to the east end!) Highly recommend 👌

Okish icecream, not the best but not the worst but tiny scoops! I was enjoying a nice day at the harbour then got greeted by the most miserable lady serving (prob aged late 40s if the owners are reading this....if you are the owner then wow....) you must only survive because passing trade don't go on trip advisor. The way you barked at the lady in front of me who was enquiring about GF products. Won't return, will head somewhere friendlier next time...

Now called courtyard cafe. Worst cream tea I have had and expensive. Scones were obviously shop bought and microwaved and were not fresh along with cheap tasting raspberry jam with no choice. Quaint place and staff were friendly enough. Nice location but pity about he quality of food.

We have eaten or had a drink here most of the 16 nights we were in st ives. Didn’t have a bad meal and all plentiful. their Sunday roasts were fantastic and the fish pie so good I had it on 4 occasions. The liver and bacon was so tender and the meal so big couldn’t eat it all. Husband loved the chilli and sister in law said the burger was great. The fish n chips were lovely too. Definitely would recommend eating here. the staff were very friendly especially Laura and Margaret can’t wait to go back in July. Loved the fact that although it was dog friendly so always had dogs in there they were only allowed on the floor so no noses or fur near where people eat and if they were picked up staff soon asked they were put on floor. We were fortunate enough to have the window seat overlooking the bay and that was a great start to our evening. Our waiter was absolutely first class in his service, humour and attention to detail. We had the sardines for starters which were excellent and a variety of main courses. All these dishes were beautifully presented but more importantly were delicious, particularly my whole sea bass. A couple of lovely desserts and some pudding wine completed a first class meal. We can highly recommend Porthgwidden Beach Cafe to any one seeking a top quality supper in a very convivial setting. Get there early for the window table !! Thank you to the chef, front of house and bar.

we always try to find a Wetherspoons while on holiday because we know we can get good food and drink at a reasonable price as always the staff we friendly and helpful

Smallest 'Medium' Past I have ever seen. How much have you reduced their size? When I asked if the morsel I was holding was a medium, I was told ''fraid so' They are tiny! I was at Trego but couldnt find their outlet on here. The meat was tasty enough but gererally too moist and are non-descript, one-up-from-greggs petit fours. Tiny I tell thee.

Great find, we were able to dine straight away, given it was lunchtime and a very busy place. Food came out quickly and our waitress was great. The only thing we found odd was the taste of Music, we listened to Elvis Presley for most of our visit! Wouldn’t stop our return, see you in May. John and Family

While visiting St Ives we stopped here for a takeaway pasty of our tea!! Very good

Visited after the gallery, had been beforehand and they did lovely salads, quiches, coffee and cakes, hadn't realised menu had changed but thought would try it, big mistake. Overpriced, over £40 for soft drink and 1 course lunch, worst thing was service, unfriendly, miserable staff, won't bother going there again. Porthmeor cafe on the beach outside has far better views, lovely staff and great food so will stick to going there!

Brilliant food, must try the chicken wings and the Mac n cheese. Staff are really friendly and attentive 😁

We were warmly welcomed by smiling staff and given a choice where to sit. We chose the conservatory with delightful views owner the lawns to the river and marina. The menu had signs of a creative kitchen with a small but tasty collection of dishes at reasonable prices. We chose the fish and chips. It as a big fillet with crisp good quality batter and nicely coloured chips. Very tasty. The desserts were also enjoyed. We could image that this pub has very busy times as it’s such a nice position on the river and a super venue.

Very disappointed i normaly love there cakes . Really looking forward to there cakes went there it was shut dead on 4 online it says 5.30 think you adjust times online you going to have some disappointed people . I wanted bit take home tomorrow. So was not happy .
