we always try to find a Wetherspoons while on holiday because we know we can get good food and drink at a reasonable price as always the staff we friendly and helpful

Sad to see it close on sunday 06/10/2024 for the last time well be missed

So queued for drinks- totally ignored by the chap serving upon 3 separate occasions, since only 1 person serving and I was invisible decided to order on their app. Ordered on the app- waited for around 15 minutes and no sign of the order-the pub itself wasn't particularly busy on a Wednesday afternoon. Went to the bar with the app order and they hadn't picked it up. This is the 1st time in a long time and many many visits to all Wetherspoons so one can see that this is particularly disappointing especially in conjunction with being invisible at the bar.

This is a great j d weatherspoons pub. The food and drinks were excellent and there was a great choice. The staff were friendly and caring

A really nice place, to eat and drink in a wonderful cornish village, that is overpriced and overdone with holidaymakers heaven knows what it's like in summer. Food and service along with good prices as normal for spoons, pity they seem to think it's going to close.

Not the nicest Spoons slow to clear and wipe tables food arrived before our drinks which ment leaving the table and food to make hot drinks so not the best service.

Good real ale kept in very nice condition. Recommended are the chicken wings

It's a 'spoons, you know exactly what you're going to get. Beer was well kept and really can't complain at £1.99 a pint.

We found this place by accident and it saved us I'd say 500 pounds as the drinks are silly cheap and the food is cheap, it's OK too, huge choice, drink with your meal included, we enjoyed it and would glady return 🍺🍺🍴🍴👍

If I was on the management team of Wetherspoon I would kick out this pub from the franchise. Really awful food. We had the best burned burgers of our life, perfect untastefully steaks etc. The only decent part were the chips. Not to mention the dirty tables (they only collect the plates and glasses…) Come on, you’re on St Ives, wake up and do your job properly.

Small size for a spoons and certainly more expensive than the one in my hometown but the brief interaction I had with one staff member was brilliant, apologised for the wait time (which was not that long anyway), and seemed generally friendly.

Very busy place but limited staff meant the both times we visited all unuses tables were full of plates and glasses.

It is a Wetherspoons but well kept beer and food is what you expect. Well worth a visit

Exactly what you expect from a wetherspoons! Food was OK, place was a bit busy, had trouble finding a table, the upstairs bar was closed so had to go down the stairs to ordering food and bring drinks back up.

Great food, great drinks, great prices. Helpful servers too.

4 members of staff on but only one serving staff who were off duty. The other members of staff were stocking the fridge (it took 2 to do this very inefficiently) and one was clearing tables. After 10 minutes of waiting, one of the staff ‘stocking the fridge’ eventually asked ‘who’s next’ when we were the only other people waiting at the bar. There’s no wonder this place is closing. Must be the most inefficient Wetherspoons in the uk!

Not the best spoons I have ever been in but probably the smallest..

Took a trip to St Ives for breakfast while visiting the area. An absolute nightmare to find anywhere to park but that was to be expected. Found The Hain Line and was surprised to find it not overly busy despite the thousands of people passing by. St Ives is a glorious place and possibly not where you expect to find w Wetherspoons pub plying it's trade. But ply away it did and we entered for a damned good plying. We plied with a couple of traditional breakfasts and we were served by a member of staff who was possibly rec overing from a late night and had only just fallen out of bed. The breakfast was good enough for the pittance we paid for it in one of Cornwall's premier tourist destinations. It was typical 'Spoons fodder and just about filled a void where breakfast was waiting. Cheap. Average. OK.

Great stuff, staff, prices and location

Visited here a few times while we're staying in St.Ives. Real good value for money and the food was quick to the table. Friendly staff. Just a pity this has been ear marked for closure...such a shame.

Visited here in June 2024 while staying in wonderful St Ives. A smaller Weatherspoons it applies their formula well including the really good prices. The main bar is downstairs as well as some seating, with more seats upstairs including a second bar which looks like it's only opened sometimes. You know what you are getting with a Weatherspoons, and this one delivers exactly that !

Very nice pub, food was really good and the staff were lovely

Went here for breakfast, was decent for what it is as just wanted a cheapish breakfast. Went around 9am and was able to find a table easily. Staff was engaging and friendly, coffee was good and the bacon was better than my local wetherspoons!

This is a nice restaurant. We just entered this place for a drink and we ended up having breakfast as everyone was having one and they looked great. Good service and yummy food. A very recommended restaurant.

Haven't been to a Weathwespoons for 6+ years and decided to eat at the The Hain Line in St Ives. Well, our party of eight were not disappointed. The pub was fairly busy, but ordering was easy, the variety was excellent and the service was amazing. Food arrived within 10 minutes of ordering and the staff very helpful. Indeed, the staff are on-the-ball, ensuring that vacated tables were clean and ready for the next customer. In terms of value, I was impressed with the quality of the food and the overall cost. Indeed, I struggle to understand how they make a profit? 🤔 In all, "great location, fantastic food and great team". Will visit again before we head home.

Popped in the once for an arrival drink. Upstairs looked nice.

Seems like the regulars sit right the disabled toilets as they can't be bothered walking up the stairs, so you can only imagine the state of them. No consistency with the bar staff. Was with my 20 year old daughter ( who doesn't look young )1 member of staff served me ( daughter was at the bar to help me ) different member of staff wouldn't because my daughter didn't have her ID. And they wounder why pubs are closing down.

Beef Madras tasted so good here. Superb service as always at Wetherspoons. Wi-Fi is a bit slow here, order at bar if desired.

Food was cold and basic service was okay and the place was cold.

I went here for fish n chips as a protest within my own head once I saw the prices around the harbour for fish n chips, at over a tenner for not a lot and ice creams at £6 for two scoops. I really really despise being ripped off. We got here two codfish & chips with mushy peas a pint of Leffe beer (6.2abv) and a glass of Rose wine for £23. Cod 3 stars, factory made chips 1 star, mushy peas from a tin 2 stars. Value overall 4 stars. I can eat and drink far better for half the price of the harbour area here at the Trevi Fountain in Rome and the centre of Lisbon yet merchants in this town and other places we’ve been in Cornwall complain that Brits mostly go to Europe for holidays. This pub is part of the Wetherspoons chain established by a Northern Irish bloke who favoured Brexit and who would likely fit into ulster unionist traditions. Locals call it Spoons. I can well afford overpriced fish n chips so I’m no longer clear if I am an out and out hypocrite or that I’m really just a miserable beggar or that my not wanting to be ripped off dwarfs all else. I pay road tax and huge fuel taxes, I pay taxes when I insure my cars to go on the road so I really hate to have to pay a fourth time to park on a road. I’ve never been to St Ives before. It’s picturesque and quaint. It has a long history and was heavily into sea fishing for its wealth but we left it thinking more about not bothering next time and going back to Spain and Portugal.

Food and service was excellent, would recommend to anyone . Incredible value for money which is important these days. Food was hot and tasty and good portions. Wife had scampi and chips and I had an incredible stacked gourmet burger. Help yourself to excellent coffee top ups. Spot on.

This was the worst meal all 8 of us have eaten out. They had ran out of burgers so most of us had veggie burgers. Theses were not the burgers they advertised they were. After ordering they informed us they only had 2 burger buns left so the rest of us coy6hsve our burgers in muffins. The leaves were very limp and the amount of chips given were pitiful. We didn't complain because we were meeting family we had not seen for a long time and did not want to ruin the night. But the food was the worst we have ever had.

They really need more staff. Prices are good

Busy 'spoons in a tourist town. Not the best but not the worst. It's what you expect from this company. Polite staff, clean floors and sticky tables. Cheap beer and locals that try to decide if you are worth fighting. It's doing a good job in the face of an economic storm, so get in, get a pie and a pint and keep them open. Unpretentious, as per expectation, it's always the same, so you can be assured that you're going to get everything you expect.

Bit of an odd spoons, very devoid of atmosphere. Staff were nice and service was fine, food was typical spoons just very quiet. Also a bit more expensive due to its location

Not the nicest pub, but it is the cheapest place in St Ives. The tables where clean too which is usual for a spoons.

Food at a very good Price and the food was very tasty plus quick service and good meal deals the toilets are also very clean and presentable overall fantastic restaurant with a rich menu :)

Sat upstairs as the downstairs area didn't have enough space for my group, had the feel that it hadn't been tidied all day and lacked usual spoons efficency. Other than that solid, great prices for the area and staff friendly

How many times do we all leave great places after good food, unbelievable great value drink and great service BUT we forget to leave the positive feedback? We had a great night at the Hain Line tonight thanks to Ben (Manager), Andy ( who was fab and kept checking our last train home) and Av we had the best customer experience 🙌 xx

I actually only went for the haggis Let me explain.... So I visited Scotland a few years ago and ofc I wanted to try the national dish. Everywhere I went and asked I got told the same thing, "Whetherspoons is the best place to get your haggis." Sadly I didn't get to try any that time. But this year I thought I'd go for it. Our Scottish brothers know what they are talking about. Ohmyword, bldy lvly!! (I made the rest of the meal inc Whisky Sauce myself. I'm sure it would be similar though.The meal you can see above was just to show my friend what we had waiting for him after work. We used the containers supplied by Whetherspoons for him to take it home. The haggis portion was huge. )

Chilled environment, service fine , parking isnt great because you only have a small amt of road space for disabled near by and carparks that are within walking distance but they do charge for this.

We popped in here a few times while staying in St Ives, for both food and drink. It was convenient as its right in the heart of the town and its the usual good value and pub grub. There is 2 levels to this pub, both upstairs and downstairs has a bar but the upstairs one was closed when we visited but to be honest it didn't need to be open as it was busy but not too busy. Like most 'spoons' the toilets were upstairs but they did have a disabled toilet available downstairs but you had to ask for it to be opened. The staff were really friendly and even remembered our drinks order, this is the reason this Wetherspoons is one of the better ones. The food as always in spoons was cheap eats but tasty.

Although the premises are nice enough and food and staff excellent, the building was very cold. Since weather was wet and blowy I'd have appreciated a warm up

Fun, cheap eatery that's welcoming to any and all, including kids. Ordering is through an app, and they have free wifi to connect, so that's easy enough. Friendly service. No parking available.

Satisfied with the food, the service was a little lacking, I asked for information on a dish and was told that that was the menu

We were staying in a vacation rental nearby and this place became our go to breakfast and occasional evening pint. Food was good and a great value. Restaurant is large so it was easy to find a seat for our family.

Had a lovely gluten free meal of cheese jacket and mug of tea.

I like the Hian Line, good atmosphere the staff are good and the foods ok, they are not going to win a Michelin star but it good value.

A good value place to go for food and drink in an area where everywhere else is over priced because of where it is. But thats St.lves for you.

Make sure you check if you want anything that says fried egg on the menu, because you will probably be served rubbery scrambled egg - even with ham egg and chips. Really??????

Usual Wetherspoons, decent prices, good food and drinks. The service was top notch very quick to bring out food and it tasted great especially after a long walk along the coastline.

Need a drink after long journey so here I am. St Ives WetherSpoon chain. Seems like houseful because of tourist area. Good atmosphere and service. Hardly 2 mins walk from beach.

Lovely pub! Not a fan of wetherspoons especially on Saturday nights as they're usually heaving, but it was lovely! Very chilled atmosphere, cheap but lovely food and drinks, clean and tidy, nice staff, what more can you ask for!

A standard Wetherspoons near the St Ives high street, lovely food as always and great customer service from the shift manager I think it was. I should have got his name as he was 10/100, he made sure everyone was happy and got our food, would high recommend to go back again if ever visiting st Ives.

Typically Mc's. Not like some of the other outlets. Food was hot and the counter was staffed. Now I don't bother if you can only order on the machines. Check opening hours if going late.

It's a small spoons compared to many but great service great pub sad to hear its up for sale nesettled in between the shops in the town

Breakfast was nice and was served very fast. I had an evening meal which came out quickly and was just enough to fill me up. Larger is probably the cheapest in St Ives which always makes it taste better. Would recommend for a quick stop or a good drinking session, I had both.
