Really not happy...after being ignored by the staff after having booked a table I had to ask for service. Once ordered and waiting nearly half hour for food the fire alarm went off and we were unceremoniously ushered out of the restaurant into the car park and our dinner and drinks left at the table. No mention of what we were supposed to do so we left. ABSOLUTELY DISGRACEFUL. Won't be going back the food was OK nothing to write home about.

Horrible food burger tasteless burger bun burnt to a crisp bacon rock hard onion rings hardly no onion chips over cooked.

When we arrived, we were advised that there would be a 45 minute wait for the food, so we decided to stay and eat in When placing the food order, this had increased to an hour within minutes. After 90 minutes we asked how much longer our roast dinners would be, to which we were advised with am apology that it would be another 15 minutes as a table had ordered 5 roast dinners just before us (a strange reason for such a delay). The waitress did bring us over a couple of complimentary drinks by way of apology, which was well received. Unfortunately, the meal took a further 35 minutes to arrive, so this was frustrating. The meal itself was good regarding the 2x roast dinners, but the kids' meals were for the nuggets stingy and the pizza plain awful. The pizza's base was wet and slimey as had been placed on something wet before serving. Under normal circumstances, it would have been sent back but not a chance with the time everything had taken! This was just left and our daughter ate when we got home. Overall, this was very disappointing and such a shame as the location and views were stunning, and we had hoped to return again in a couple of days

Before you order your food, look at the floor. If you're happy to order in a place where the floor has years of grime and dirt, you might enjoy it.

Its always good here including the food. Great with the beach right there too.

The views are stunning, and the pub is in a beautiful stop. However, we waited an hour and a half for our mains, with a 4 and 1 years old so things did get stressfull. the food was basic so I couldnt understand what took so long. we then waiting a further hour for desserts ( my kids played in the park on sight ) we only orderes because I promised my kids dessert, ended up going over to a staff member who was lovely and asking about the desserts as my daugher was waiting on an ice cream. It's ashame as its a lovely place but service is really bad with waiting times and is standard pub grab

Came here quite a bit as we were staying at Riviera Sands. Great place and wonderful views 😍

Visited last week and the staff was unhelpful and incredibly rude to us. When making a booking we were told we could bring a dog in the restaurant and they were serving Sunday roast and had plenty. Came 45 mins later as per our booking and were told we couldn’t sit in the main area with the dog and the waitress threw the menus on a free table elsewhere, when challenged she turned the other way ignoring us and whispering to the other waitress. When we sat down to order we were told they run out of roast which was the whole reason why we booked there. Didn’t eat there and not returning.

We came here as it was previously a good place. Now run under the Haven umbrella! The wait stated 45mins. It was 1hr and 15min, to receive cold food missing drinks and generally rubbish service. No one asked if the food was ok, some was eaten some was left. If it hadn’t been for the long wait it all would have been returned. Sat here and still one one has returned to the table.

Don't bother. Waited over an hour for Luke warm food. Service was terrible, toilets were filthy. Much better places to eat

Unfortunately the kitchen closes early. So better get there before 8pm

Staff were very pleasant if not a little rushed off their feet. Understandable as it is the height of the season. Food was really nice. Atmosphere was nice busy but chilled. Would definitely go back for meal and a drink .

We stayed at Riveira Towans and pre-booked sunday lunch at the Bluff for a party of eight on the 11th of Aug...we were not disappointed, we expected a typical pub roast but it was much better, the veg was fresh and altogether an excellent meal. The sea veiws are amazing and the staff were very helpful /polite. We had dinner and lunch at various places around the st Ives area and nothing compared for either value for money or quality.(on the last day we paid a third of what we had paid at the Badger inn for a better meal) Can't wait to return later in the season. Went for a roast and it did not disappoint, there was plenty of food on my plate and it was very delicious.

Spectacular views, right on the beach of Hayle. Food was good, although they messed up with our order of 7 meals. One meal got missed due to incident at the bar, but the manager put it right immediately, gave us something whilst we waited for it to come out and didn't charge us for it.

Waiting time was shocking in the bluff. Especially when you have 4 children Waiting for meals for over an hour and harf

No hot drinks, delivered someone elses drinks to table, 60min wait for food, then when it came, dry and rubbery. And no complimentary snack (as advertised) for small child (who'd been waiting an hour for food)

Booked for my Niece’s 13th Bday meal two months before our visit, to be told when we order food there was a 1hr 15 mins wait, thats fine ish! As they were a bit under it. (Understandable) As the drinks were good and the view is spectacular we took the hit on waiting! Well 2hr 10mins later still not all the food was out, was given chips with no burger but was a meal, chips cold burger when arrived warm on outside cold in the middle. Shared platter the chicken strips looked like they were cooked for 12 hrs (Golden Black) dips were like plastic ( showed to the waitress by turning it upside down in the bowl and it never even fell out haha didn’t think that was even possible! So at this point decided to speak to the one in charge, explained my issues and asked for a refund, to be told I understand you’re complaint but if you don’t mind I’d like to go out back to my office and have a think about it for 10mins! The young lady arrived 20-30mins later to happily say we’re going to give you 20% off you food bill! Bear in mind we still hadn’t got it, it’s now been 2hrs 40mins 🤦🏼‍♂️ Sorry no one is hungry anymore kids are getting upset so a refund was given finally. Bit annoyed as wanted breakfast there the morning after. If you fancy a beer and a stunning view this is the place to come but food wise you may want to bring a pack up.👍🏼

had to call a server over to order even with servers stood around doing nothing, 45 minute wait for food, food was OK, childrens meal was too small, had to wait another 30 minutes for a server (with 4 stood around doing nothing still) to clear the table and take payment

Staff seemed a little uncertain of the menu as it was advertised differently to the menu on the day. Also noticed an offer on a free pint of beer when having a burger . We noticed this after we’d ordered, so when he came back we asked, do we get a beer with our burger. He said it was too late now you have already ordered. Why advertise a free pint with a burger if they not prepared to honour it ! . The food came out quickly and was cooked well . The bill had to be juggled with various items to get the final tally right, because some of the items we were served with wasn’t on their updated menu but where advised differently online. Most confusing.

Awful food,l could have cooked it better myself. Even chips were cold. Service was appalling, had to go and ask where our food was )along with several other tables waiting) to be told it was a 45 minute wait. Don’t waste your time. Overpriced, poor quality and apart from the setting has no redeeming features

Nice food but the deal on the steak two for £18.99 isn’t that cos they put a sir charge on top . It’s £5.00 but doesn’t state that on the menu . If I hadn’t of asked we wouldn’t have known.

Why get rid of the arcade the sports is rubbish , atmosphere is like you want to go sleep, food nice though and service , just don’t want to stay bored

Its a bit tricky to rate this pub, being really honest it’s got a whiff of Chav to it. This is because it’s linked to the Haven holiday camp just up the road (owned and run by them). It can get a bit rowdy at times depending on what families are staying nearby and time of day etc. However that being said, if Carlsberg did views from beer gardens then this would probably be the best in the world! If you know the area then you’ll know the view I’m talking about. A great added bonus for this pub is it’s perfectly accessible from the beach below, meaning you can swing by for a cheeky glass of your favourite beverage during a beach walk… perfect! We’ve not eaten here, however I’ve seen the meals look pretty big, so whilst it might not be Michelin star, you’ll certainly feel the value!

Great place with fantastic views

Disgusting food. I ordered a mixed grill the meat was dry and the chips came pre salted with far too much salt! This could be issue with anyone with heart problems. I spoke to waiter and he said If you told me at the start, then we could have given you plain chips, but all I was asked at the start was ‘do I have any allergies?’ I don’t class not liking salt as an allergy. I have never Been to a restaurant where the chips already had salt on them.

ASK ABOUT THE OFFER OR YOU DONT GET IT AND DOG URINE ON THE FLOOR We came here a few times over the week we spent at the haven sight near by, kids eat for £1 and although we had both children present with us we were never given this discount until our last meal there where we had to actually ask for it! the girl who served us Erin looked like she’d rather be anywhere else, she just looked at us gone out with the most morbid face i’ve ever seen. She completely messed our order up and missed an item off, my partner asked for just cheese on his burger no salad etc so instead she put it on mine and i believe we were charged extra for it! granted a replacement was sent out fast but instead of a new plate of food they’d just replaced the burger as there was still cheese all over the plate and my chips were cold, for the prices you pay it’s not really acceptable. To top it all off there was alot of vacant tables, none of which had been wiped down and there was evidently dog urine all under our table which as a family restaurant with children running around just isn’t acceptable. Both my children had dropped things on the floor which i then had to wipe with sanitiser because the dog urine didn’t fill me with much confidence on the cleanliness. I get it has beach access but there was sand all over the table which we had to shuffle out of the way. Overall i know its convenient if you’re staying at the haven site but you’d be better spending your money elsewhere, preferably somewhere cleaner.

I would not recommend as with my experience of the bluff inn was terrible.We had to wait for 1HOUR! That was just for food for a family of 1 adult and 2 children.I personally don’t think It was even worth the time or money.However the scenery was nice due to the lovely paintings but the floor was constantly being swept by the manager because of the sandy floor.

The bluff inn is a great place for everything you want . Food great ,staff great . I love the beer garden , the view on a sunny day is amazing. I could sit there for ever gazing out to sea with my Gin and Tonic . Perfect day .

Food was good with great views. This is a haven restaurant. Some of the people working here didn't seem to like their jobs as they all looked miserable and didn't really give great service with a smile but overall the food was good with a view of hayle

We were served by Dom, who was great. He also took the time to warn us about dive bombing seagulls stealing food off plates. Saying that most of the staff were great. The location is spectacular, and the views are stunning.

A great place to eat with excellent views the menu is limited but what we ordered came fast and was lovely the staff are great..the only thing I noticed was the decor definitely needs bringing back to life and possibly another toilet in..but definitely would recommend

I had dinner in the restaurant. It was a nice evening and the views from te restaurant and terrace are great. It was impossible to order online with the provided QR code, so after several attempts I had to stand in the ordering queu that was pretty long. The food I ordered was not so good. I ordered whole tail scampi, and they brought me a kind of nuggets dripping of fat and with little pieces of fish in it that would stand for the whole tale scampi….The chips were so so, and there was very small portion of peas on the plate. My partner ordered a vegetarian curry, that was quiet okay.

Went here a few times whilst on holiday in Hayle. Great place for a drink and food looking out to sea.

Friendly and helpful staff, the guy from the bar was so nice making us some pancake even though they didn't have fruits(which my kids didn't mind, and obviously we paid the full price as it was our choice, not like we heard a similar story and eventually they were arguing why they are still charging full price, because that was the menu, and was your choice to having it without even price remain the same , or not having it at all). Anyway, nice view, you can see the beach from up there and easy access to it.

Food delicious and huge portions! Staff all really attentive and friendly. Fab little park outside for the kids after. But the views are what makes it! We head here each time we are Cornwall direction!

Great pub that serves plenty of food and drinks suitable for family friends and children. Staff are polite friendly and keen to serve and Dom is an absolute saint. Great sense of humour and brilliant with the children. I'd recommend the food and alcohol here and definitely bring your happy smiles. I am adding to my review at the 3rd visit, which was just for a hot drink this time and something had changed whereby either the staff were overworked or underpaid, they seemed a little down beat and uninterested. It was busier than the previous visits, so this may be the reason, but when asking for help about the car park, they were not their usual helpful self and then when it came to being served, it was also a long long wait. So perhaps bear this in mind if you visit during peak times, the service may be not as high, but also to treat the staff as humans and remember to have some patience.

Great coastal pub in a great location with good deals on meals.

Parking machine takes cash only and no app to pay by phone. They do cash back at the till but by the time you eventually get to the till to order and get change the vulture has probably already given you a ticket! No joke! I queued for 5 mins then give up walked out and he was there about to put a ticket on and had already done a few other cars. Pretty impressive running skills.

The first thing you notice when walking into the Bluff is the spectacular views. I am a self proclaimed steak snob so it's very rare I'm happy when I order steak anywhere else but M&C, that being said it wasn't too bad, I like it rare and it was slightly over, very tasty though. I was able to swap the peas for mushy no issues. The brownie was one of the best brownies I've ever had, the wife's words as I don't have a sweet tooth, if I could have chicken wings for pudding I really would. The cocktails are delicious and fairly priced as my wife is currently going through them. The inside needs a little TLC but the staff are welcoming.

Awesome place, nice food and vibe

Visited this pub for late lunch on 7th of May. Location is stunning. The rest...depends on what you expect. Food is below basic, staff aren't attentive, sticky tables, cutlery missing.. I'd recommend eating elsewhere. Positives: good selection of drinks (including on tap), location, and the beer garden. Beautiful views, quite relaxing on a sunny day. Didn't go back as there's plenty more, much better, places to dine and drink in. You get better service at Butlins (and that's something!) Bar staff totally uninterested. One waitress seemed to have been running around doing all the work. It was quite painful to watch. Good for a quick pint. Shame as the location is spot on and the pub itself is beautiful. They could do so much better!

2 stars is for the location and view, 1 out of the 4 meals was lovely- others very disappointing, service not great and very slow.

I haven't been to the Bluff in years but went for my birthday meal last Sunday. The food is delicious 😋 and not expensive like it used to me. It's definitely a huge improvement 👏 with the same beautiful view.

Great food, I would highly recommend this establishment. Only took a star off of the service due to not cleaning a table area before sitting, but tbf IT WAS busy. But apart from that AAA**

Truly beautiful restaurant without outstanding views. The staff were lovely and the food was Gorgeous. If you haven't visited here then we truly recommend it.

Girl behind the bar seemed less than happy to take my booking for an evening meal for three, she said I’ll take your booking after I’ve made a chocolate drink and latte that I had requested, these beverages were left at the end of the bar for me to get and take to where we were seated. She never came to take our booking, on leaving she and another female were sat chatting. Very disappointing and not sure where we will eat as staying at the Riviera Sands. 23/04/2024.

Great place. Huge beer garden with sea views. Football on TV, nice pint and pub food.

Good good delicious streaks bit pricey but for the standard of food I'm not complaining we had two meals here and both were lovely, there's plenty of seating but advise to book if you want sea views. Staff were good and there's a nice park for the children.

Really glad to walk in with two hungry Grandchildren and get great food. Marvellous view of the waves from the dining area, just the forerunners of storm Kathleen ! Also excellent value with their offers, even on a Saturday afternoon. Great play area to help the food go down too. An 'all good' experience

We are staying at a place 5 minutes away so thought we would have a meal.. The view was the 1st thing we noticed. It was beautiful. My kids played in the play area outside for a while before raining, we got a table pretty quickly. The food was lovely, I had fish and chips which was absolutely delicious, my kids and partner loved their food too. Then we had a pudding to share. Overall was a lovely place to eat!

Save your self disappointed and money!!!!!!? The only reason the bluff received one star is due to the bar staff named sam ( with glasses). The bar person miss poured our round and when we asked for this to be corrected we was told we was not aloud service. Clearly the bluff employees was not happy to have hoilday makers in the premises after 9pm. Unwelcomeing to hoilday makers... Save your self disappointment with food and sevice and vist the bucket of blood down the road where you will feel welcome and the food is top tier. Toliets dirty, food wasnt even weatherspoons standard.

By far the worst place in Cornwall the staff are just plain rude there was one decent bar tender his name was Sam his bald with glasses other then him the staff were pretty rude an not approachable an couldn't wait to get get people out of there pub other then the one bar tender an the view it's just not worth a visit food is over priced and not good an staff seemed to hate holiday makers as we're heard saying the statment at the bar an in the smoking area 100% worse place in Cornwall save your money an go the blood an bucket or the watermill the bluff pretty much tainted the rest of our holiday

Steak was over cooked and half of the staff clearly didn't want to be there

Service and general atmosphere wasn’t bad with a great view of the beach but the bad part was the food, I’m not sure if they had a trainee chef on the day we went but it was very bad 13/3/24 at 4:00pm. I had a mixed grill with the steak cooked medium rare, all the meat except the sausage came out like leather with the steak being well done and my partner had the rump steak again cooked medium rare which can out nearly well done, I get it’s not Michelin star restaurant but definitely expected batter

Omg been visiting jhayle for over 30 years ..the bluff 30 years ago was a dump but alas it's now even worse . Haven really sell up !

Been before because of great location and views. Restaurant closed, so let's hope closed for a complete winter makeover! Car park empty except for a couple of surfer vans, machine not working, left the car for 20 minutes and have £100 parking fine from Alliance Parking. Can understand parking charges and enforcement in summer but should be waived off-season like most other car parks in the area. Rip-off despite the alleged warning signs. Bluff Inn need to sort this out or lose customers.

Great spot for watching the sunset. Absolutely amazing view. Food appeared usual, deep fried, basic pub fare on the menu. People around us enjoyed it. Staff friendly and welcoming.

The food was not great, overpriced mediocre pub food. Nothing disastrous about it, but nothing good either. I could have done as good a job and I'm no chef and don't charge either.

We came as a family of three adults & three children, the children's menu and gluten free menu was very accommodating, the lady who served us (karenza) was absolutely lovely & the other staff members that we spoke to were also very friendly. Food was lovely and portions were quite big, the childrens portions could've easily suited a teenager/small adult. We were sat on a table right next to a large window, overlooking the beach. No complaints.

Should be a fantastic place given its location. The whole place felt grubby and run down. Microwave and deep fried menu options. I guess that they don’t really have to try and that is exactly the impression you come away with

I took my husband and I on a date to this restaurant while we were in holiday in Cornwall, the food we ordered was amazing and didn’t take longer than 5 mins to get to us, the drinks were spectacular had us ordering one after the other and they let us stay a few more moments while we finished our drinks altogether a very lively evening :)))

Nice setting but me and my partner both got food poisoning and it's ruined our holiday. We have been so ill and trying to look after our 1 year old. Can't believe this has happened

With it being part of Haven, expectations were not particularly high. Booked a table for 2 for 6.30pm. We did arrive a little earlier and were directed to a dirty table. Wiped down in a matter of minutes. So started off alright. We were informed it was a 45 minute wait on food. A little long but with the view manageable. Literally within 2 minutes another waitress arrived and took a drinks order, barely had time to look at the menu so she said she would come back in a few minutes. Drinks received very quickly from the barman. The few minutes from the waitress increased and increased. During that time the place was subject to the screaming and running riot of a group of young children. Another family stood up from the table with one member of the party swinging an open but full nappy bag. Doesn’t take much imagination to work out where that child was changed. After several attempts of trying to alert the clearly blind waitress we decided to leave. Went to the bar to pay for the drinks we had and not one staff member to be seen. Waited and waited until we figured they clearly didn’t want paying so left.

The steaks we had were tasty and a reasonable price, the view was amazing but God was it dirty and scruffy inside. Needs a thorough clean and perhaps a revamp over the winter. It was boderline wether we would stay and eat there due to the cleanliness of the eating area

Absolutely joke of place now . I've been coming to hayle for years . This used to be a lovely place. Now you get , sorry cash only as Internet off plus oops sorry we've run out of that drink after you've ordered. Staff clueless. Whoever runs it now . You need to sort it our. You'll have no customers.

Lovely pub with stunning views. Staff are pleasant but are SO SLOW. Really need more training, maybe? Other customers were moaning on each of our visits. Also, sort your prices...way too expensive.
