Poor quality sandwich, more bread than filling, and the price did not reflect what was served. Friendly staff but would not recommend a visit.

Danish pastry completely sealed in plastic. It was really awful so checked packaging. They make them and seal them for a 3 day shelf life, so no fresh bakery produce here, you are as well with a mass-produced supermarket one. Checking the ingredients, they aren't even Danish pastry ingredients. The "superdough" part of the ingredients was just a chemical filled anomaly of things that shouldn't be there. That is not a Danish Pastry. And why all those unnecessary ingredients in the icing? Icing sugar and water would suffice. Interestingly, there is no flour listed on the ingredients for the superdough so I doubt it is a legal list. That is quite a serious omission! I attach a photo of the ingredients list. Philps comment is that they do mention flour later under possible allergens

So we stumbled across this restaurant while wandering the streets of St Ives, after reading about a certain fish and chip shop in the harbour and some mediocre reviews we decided to eat there. The place is lovely, clean and has a very nice vibe to it. We went for the lunchtime special Fish and chips with a cup of tea (but you could have had a glass of fizzy drink too) all for a £14.95 per head. Portions were really good we had to take a takeaway box in the end to take what was left over. Chips were nice and crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside and let's not forget about the fish it had a nice thin crispy batter not drenched in oil, and the fish was light and flaky just hit the right spot. Overall we were really pleased with our experience and the only shame was the fact there were not too many people there as it was a bit off the harbour, bit sad as the food was superb and they deserve more customers.

Went in out of the rain for a coffee and something to eat. The place was empty and I soon understood why. I ordered two coffees a sausage bap and a bacon bap. The young girl struggled to make eye contact mumbled so this and we sat down. Both coffees were tasteless dish water, both the sausage and the bacon were excessively under cooked. Left never to return.

The food was excellent and service very efficient but there was very little atmosphere. We booked here for old time’s sake but the attitude towards customers is very poor: 1. We were obliged to give our credit card details so a £15 ‘no show’ charge could be applied, despite re-confirming via the app that we would be coming. 2. We were told before we’d even arrived that we would need to vacate our table 1h40m after our 7pm booked time. 3. At the end of our evening, a 10% service charge was added to our bill without any mention or thank you. We were wondering from the very start do you really want our custom or not? Despite it being a busy Saturday night in St Ives, there were only 2-4 tables occupied in a large restaurant the whole time we were there. It’s a shame because the food and setting of the restaurant are superb. I think ‘no bookings’ is more of a problem than ‘no shows’ so maybe you need to review your policies to be more in line with your competitors and a lot more welcoming to your customers.

Without a doubt the friendliest pub in St Ives. Fantastic landlord, manager and staff who always made us feel welcome. Our son was always made to feel welcome too, he loves his football and music and pool! Had something for everyone everyday. And a special shout out to Yogi Bear the pub dog who is adorable. Great choice of drinks, reasonable prices what more could you ask for on holiday or local for that matter! X
