Danish pastry completely sealed in plastic. It was really awful so checked packaging. They make them and seal them for a 3 day shelf life, so no fresh bakery produce here, you are as well with a mass-produced supermarket one. Checking the ingredients, they aren't even Danish pastry ingredients. The "superdough" part of the ingredients was just a chemical filled anomaly of things that shouldn't be there. That is not a Danish Pastry. And why all those unnecessary ingredients in the icing? Icing sugar and water would suffice. Interestingly, there is no flour listed on the ingredients for the superdough so I doubt it is a legal list. That is quite a serious omission! I attach a photo of the ingredients list. Philps comment is that they do mention flour later under possible allergens

Extremely tasty pasties! We visited the main Philps in Hayle as a family of 6 with our dog. Dogs cannot go in the shop, but there is bench seating and table benches to the side of the building. There’s a great choice of pasties, together with sausage rolls, big pigs (similar to sausage rolls just half the length, with 3 times more meat inside) and a delicious cake selection. There is a gift shop and refrigerated drinks available too. We had 3 steak and cheese pasties and 3 sausage rolls. All were absolutely delicious and consumed very quickly. We had two iced fingers and a Rocky Road for pudding. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The main store has parking too! The owner kindly let us keep our car in the car park while we took a short walk along the harbour. We did ask permission)

I often order pasties from Philps and have eaten and enjoyed them since Everett and Sammy started the business many years ago. A glance at my waistline with prove this. I had ordered my favourite large mince with flaky pastry ,a nice balance of pastry to pasty. These are flavourful and very filling. I can usually manage two. On this occasion my order had gone astray but Lucy quickly sorted everything out. Philps make proper pasties, not the dry, tasteless carefully primped designer, imposter pasties that look right but are not, but so often served in Cornwall

We've been coming to Cornwall for over 35 years and have tried many pasties over the years and this is the best we've had. I'd definitely try the chicken, it's a thing of beauty 😋

Family holidays for my husband were always in Hayle and involved Philips pasties several times in the holiday - they are part of his family heritage (or family ancestral holiday food). When we first started an annual Cornish holiday as a couple many years ago I didn't get why we had to make an 80 mile round trip to Hayle to purchase Cornish pasties!! After all we were in Cornwall , Cornish pasties are available everywhere! But as a vegetarian I have tried cheese and onion pasties from many other providers but the cheese and veg pasties from Philps are the only ones that have the peppery seasoning from the traditional pasties I remember as a child! Its took years but now I get it!!

We queued outside for a steak Pasty. The smells were amazing before you even reach the counter. We ordered 2 steak standard pasties which were delicious. If you want gluten free heated up you need to order 1hr beforehand otherwise it is frozen. My only thing was that the gluten free ones (we didn't mind frozen as cooked at the chalet) weren't homemade but bought in.

One of the nicest coffees I had in 3 weeks in St Ives - I had a flat white and it was really good so well worth a try.

I was so looking forward to buying my favourite Pasties whilst staying in St Ives, so imagine my disappointment when I walked along the Harbour and found another business in its place! They no longer sell them in St Ives, There is a factory and shop in Hayle otherwise I found one by chance whilst walking in Marazion.

Picked up some traditional meat and potato Pasties and ate them later on at the apartment. Very tasty and full of meat, just as a pasty should be! I would not hesitate to buy them from here again. There are plenty of pasty shops in St Ives, its probably easier to say which shops I wouldln’t buy one from rather than saying which are the good Pasty shops!

Yep they sell em and yep they're good, there's better out there but it's all personal opinion. Still wouldn't turn one down.

The pasty that I took with me on the train for lunch was excellent. It was the steak and vegetable pasty. The pasty was full of vegetables and steak and had just the right amount of spice to enhance the excellent flavours. To find the outlet was a little difficult at first. It was really just a window in a wall, and was beside an arcade and the amusement centre and on the harbour front. I'm glad I tried Phips Cornish Pasty as it was delicious, and I highly recommend it to those who would like to try an authentic Cornish pasty.

Great to see my fave pasty place has added a small shop to St Ives which means I don't have to travel out to Hayle when in town. These are the best pasties around, could have been the timing but a couple of the items we bought were cold but most were good.

Popped in here for a cream tea, deliciously warm scones with jam and clotted cream, a real treat. Very reasonably priced. The staff were lovely, very friendly, would definitely recommend.

The ice creams here are beautiful! Really generous portions and are very well presented. The customer service we received was outstanding, my daughter had a massive meltdown (ASD) and they were nothing but supportive, understanding and helpful. We'd had a very tough day today with meltdowns galore and this one was by far the worst of the day yet I never felt alone or judged. People like you make the biggest difference and I am so very grateful for you going out of your way to help and care. Thank you x
