This was my least favourite I’ve cream in st Ives. The ice cream was decent however there was a lack of choice and flavours compared to the competition. It was also overpriced for what you got (compared to the competitors). Furthermore, the server was extremely curt to the customers…definitely something to work on.

Me and my husband managed to get some time off work and decided to go away for a lovely week in Cornwall. Unfortunately one of the female staff was extremely rude to us, as she had a go at us for not telling her which size cone we wanted at the start of ordering. She does not have the right ettiquette and therefore she is definitely not fit for this job.

To start with, my wife who is Coeliac can get a proper cone in here to put her ice cream in. In itself that is a huge plus. On top of that the ice cream was delicious, with plenty of flavour options. The staff serving were ok, nothing special but hey that's fine. A decent experience

This is not a review of the ice cream, which was nice, but the lady serving it was possibly one of the most rude people I've ever come across serving in a shop. She looked miserable from the moment we walked in, and, for reasons too numerous to mention here, actually managed to spoil our otherwise thoroughly enjoyable family day out to St Ives. I don't understand how people can get up in the morning, go to work and be that unpleasant to customers. My only explanation is that something else is going on in her life to make her be like this. The owners of the shop are lucky that the majority of their customers don't look on trip advisor before they visit shops like this; they thrive on opportunistic passing tourist trade, because if they did look at the customer service reviews, they wouldn't get much business. A smile costs nothing. For what it's worth, whenever we return to St Ives, we will NEVER give this shop our custom.

Lovely ice cream but Incredibly rude and aggressive staff member. As we were eating outside on the harbour a plume of sticky vape smoke was blown into my families faces. (I'm not talking about a normal vape machine either, I'm talking about a pumped up one that produces massive clouds). I mentioned that my friend had asthma and we didn't want to breathe in his vape clouds to which he adjusted his glasses, smirked and aggressively blew another plume into our direction and walked off down the harbour front blowing more clouds into more peoples faces. There's very few rude people in St Ives but this guy was so arrogant & selfish that it shocked us.

We visited on 26th Oct. Kids wanted an ice cream so we gave this place a go. Service was excellent and staff member we had was very attentive. Our kids picked an ice cream each and my wife and I had coffee. Staff member pointed out to us that it was filter coffee, which we did not have an issue with. Take away Coffee was presented on a tray along with milk and sugar, nice touch. Staff member was happy to dilute my wife's coffee as it was a bit strong. Ice cream was excellent and kids loved it. Prices were on par with others. Highly recommended if you are passing. Only minus point was that coffee was not very hot but this was due to it being on a filter machine hot plate.

I was second in the queue here and decided to order the lemon sorbet. I was served pretty quickly, but I found the person who served me appeared to not want to be there and she never smiled. Now I know this isn't a requirement of good service, but I think it really does help. It's polite and it makes customers feel valued. I had one scoop in a tub, which filled the tub, so that was good and it was delicious. Quite strong, but really flavourful and refreshing. The staff were miserable but the ice cream was ok. The flavours were good but very subtle, the thing that ruined it for me was the chocolate curls through both flavours I chose, it would be better if it was left smooth because the curls have a fatty taste and take away from the flavour of the ice cream.

Great Ice cream but served by rude, surely staff who look like they don't want you bothering them. Just a smile and a hello is all it takes to change the whole experience. We visit St Ives a lot and have visited this ice cream parlour on many occasions. It's probably the most appealing of the ice cream shops and is handily positioned on the front. As we were looking a man came out from the back and stood there waiting for us to tell him what we wanted. We had 3 icecreams. Half way through serving us a lady came out and she took over with our order. They both just seemed like they didn't want to be there and we were an inconvenience being there!!! We visited on a family holiday, we had three ice creams which to be fair tasted nice. The customer service on the other hand horrific. The girl was impatient with my daughter choosing her icecream and later when we went back to complain there was a hair in her icecream laughed out of the shop. I am allergic to many things, when asking staff in the shop if certain ice creams had ingredients in that I am allergic to in they seemed very un interested. When I asked if the liquorish in the ice cream had wheat in I was answered with 'well if some liquorish has wheat in don't eat the liquorish ice cream' (not finding out if their liquorish had wheat in or not) I would not risk eating here if you have allergies as I am not sure they would take it seriously and would tell you the truth. It is a legal requirement that they have a list of ingredients so that allergy sufferers can see. I too had an issue with their hygiene they handled money (who knows who has touched the money before you) and then touched the ice cream cones spreading the coin germs onto the cone.

I love Willy Wallers ice cream and make sure when I visit my father that I make a trip to sample the delights! The orange and marscapone is delicious!!! I have always found the staff at the Penzance shop to be polite, friendly and cheerful in sharp contrast to the staff at the St Ives shop. The latest visit to the St Ives shop was on Easter Saturday. Granted it was busy but this does not excuse poor customer service. We were served by a young girl who hardly spoke, never smiled and seemed terribly annoyed that we were bothering her to buy something. I spent £15 which is a decent amount on ice cream. The older gentlemen was equally as rude to his customers. When we were outside there was a number of people saying 'they look like they enjoy their jobs' Note to Willy Wallers management: staff shoud be smiling and conversing with your customers. That's all it takes to build a relationship, ensure return visits and word of mouth recommendations.
