Chips were banging, proper chippy stuff, Scottish bloke behind the counter was full banter and Cornish knowledge. Cheers for the chippy Andy!

This is a prime example of a business that's just waiting to be taken over. Sometimes the food is good or it's not so good. A decent buyer could turn this place into a little goldmine, with an opportunity to turn the upstairs into a seating area.

Excellent customer service and excellent fish and chips, the team looked after us and the end product was perfect, with flawless battered cod and chips.

Can't rate this place enough. Lovely welcome, excellent food to take away. It stayed nice and hot was well cooked, presented and was delicious 😋

I’ve had my fair share of chips up and down the country. Unfortunately I was let down by these ones. Tasted like the cardboard they came in.

Very overpriced very slow service was really looking forward to chippy tea on Fri as we were on holiday thought we would try it not much taste in fish soggy fatty batter threw most of it away tasteless

My family came back with fish and chips from here the other evening. Limited menu, small portion sizes of chips. Popped myself and they were right. Tiny portion for £2.50 and they were dry and chewy. Obviously been hanging around too long. Definitely wouldn't bother again

We got take away fish and chips they were great. the fish was freshly cooked and light crispy batter.we got medium size and to be honest there were too many chips for us.

Nice friendly staff, but bit dissapoined with the food.Cod was mainly batter & had better chips.Grits!! We live in Herts & our local Fsh n Chps shop do beautiful fleshy cod?

Dear oh Dear. I thought the practice of warming lunchtime chips left over was in the past. When we opened the chips they were barely warm and not freshly fried. Nothing worse than flaccid chips...

Only gave it a one as no option for a minus 10. Worst fish and chips we have ever had as it was inedible! Order was 2 X fish 1 large chips 2 battered sausage and small chips and curry sauce and cost £41.50 Took it back and got a refund! Really horrible Please avoid unless you want a upset stomach and night on the loo !

Stopped here to pick up some fish and chips and we weren’t disappointed, they were delicious! Your order is taken and you are advised that there is a waiting time as everything is cooked freshly for you, the fish and chips were cooked to perfection I had mushy peas and my husband had curry sauce which were tasty too. Would recommend as we both enjoyed our tasty treat 😋.

Really disappointed for the price paid, chips soft not crispy, curry sauce not very tasty and the Pea Fritter was small considering it was £2.50? I wouldn't recommend at all, was supposed to be a treat 😔

A consistently good fish and chips takeaway. Check the opening times as they're usually not open on a Saturday which is a shame. Good portions. I usually eat down at Cape Cornwall so great for the view. The Co-op across from Jeremy's is convenient if you want to take your own ketchup and vinegar with you!

The last time I got fish and chips from here, four years ago, they were delicious and after travelling for ten hours to our holiday home we were really looking forward to eating here. The first problem was that it was closed on a Saturday evening and was not opening again until Tuesday. On Tuesday evening my husband bought 2 fish and 1 large portion of chips which cost over £21 to bring back to our cottage. The fish was thin, tasteless and heavily battered, the chips did not taste fresh or had a good texture. I felt ripped off by this and sent the owner a message asking whether we had been over charged. The owner did not have the good manners to respond to me. Next time I would travel down to Newlyn for my fish supper and hope for a better experience.

Not open on a Saturday evening and very disappointed. They are a business and should be open for locals and visitors alike. Lot's of people about in the town so plenty of trade available.

Very overpriced as I guess marketing holiday trade which we can accept but the chips were greasy and the fish overcooked. For the price we paid, the fact that it was so busy, we at least expected the food to be good.

Closed on a Friday and Saturday? Hungry and excited for fish and chips on the weekend, well don’t try Jeremy’s … I had a very dissatisfied friend called Davo

Not bad. I won’t recommend to a friend though. Fish was thin and incredibly greasy, the portions were very small and it wasn’t very affordable at all. Sad to say, but hopefully they take reviews seriously and up the anti.

Great food and very quick seeing how busy it was.

The place gets busy quickly some evenings but they are able to get orders processed efficiently. Despite a queue of about 8 other customers I was in and out within 10 minutes. Good fish and chips.

Visited on a Friday night, St Just is a treat really. Like going back in time 30 years. The chippy is no exception, family run? It's a delightful piece of theatre and the scampi & chips was delicious. Particularly enjoying the guy coming in to tell someone he'd got plenty of gear tonight.

Fish was cooked to order but did not have to wait very long. Good portion of chips and mushy peas. Stayed hot until the last bite. Lovely food.

I ordered a large cod and small chips, the fish was freshly cooked and was delicious with light crispy batter. The chips however were lukewarm, very chewy and unpleasant, I had the feeling that they were cooked an hour before. I think this shop cooks too many chips at one time, so the oil temperature drop too much resulting in soggy chips. I was shocked how much the prices had increased since I last bought fish and chips.

Shocked 😲 This place is a fish and chip shop but only stays open till 8 ,is only open in the evenings. we got there at 7.45 to be told they were not taking any more orders. The fish and chips were nice but the queuing was ridiculous.

Fancied a chippy tea, what a disappointment! Chips with a strange after taste, mushy peas more like sloppy peas, deep fried burger, really? No pies only a chicken flavoured pie, queues around the corner, just hope everyone is not as disappointed as we were, poor quality and poor choice of products.

Got food it was all wrapped up and left, half of what we ordered was missing! Great! The staff were too busy watching the owner telling a customer how rude someone was to her and how unhappy she was with them, to get our order right! Couldn't complain, as they did not answer the phone and was shut but the time we returned. Message to everyone check what you have ordered is what's in the bag!

Overpriced, long wait, even with no queue, got the very simple order wrong order, again, unapologetic to the point of rudeness, for their mistake. Bizzare ticket system which makes the usual very long wait even worse. Fish OK. Check your order and wallet before leaving

When we read gloomy reviews we decided to go ahead and risk it. Glad we did! The queue was a good sign. People were obviously keen to eat stuff from Jeremy’s including some regulars. Fish and chips were good portion size, hot and tasty. Ten minutes wait at most. Easy to eat outdoors in the St Just open air theatre. What’s not to like?

We visited on a very busy Saturday evening, there was quite a wait to order, and a very long wait for your actual food. When we did get our food, it was luke warm and the servings were less than generous. Definitely won't be using them again.

Thought we would have something quick to eat and it was quick straight in the bin , chips cold and black . Never again .

We have just thrown most of our Cod and Chip meal in the bin the chips were soggy and the fish had no flavour. We suggest you don't there.

Freshly cooked to order, and fairly priced. So go get some freshly cooked fish and chips and take them down to Cape Cornwall. Ansome!!

Really disappointed. Batter was lovely, but the fish had the thickness of an old school cassette tape and then there was the burger, it wasn't good. Lovely staff, but you really need to up your game.

Really tasty - good portions - hot Only waited probably 3-4 minutes. Only fault is that it's a bit expensive for a fish & chippy

Smallest portion of chips I've ever been served. Veggie burger had nothing with it. Would expect a bit of lettuce, slice of tomato etc. And at £7 - sorry but felt ripped off.

Currently down Cornwall visiting family, fancied Fish & Chips (as you do) and decided to visit Jeremy's in St.Just. Last visit was a few years ago and was hoping they would be as good as last time. Blown away again, fish & chips were fantastic, freshly cooked (well worth the wait) - shame I don't live down here so I could have them more often. Well worth a visit if you ever find yourself in St.Just.

Nice fish and chips but ran out of curry sauce one of the main sauces people have with fish and chips. Not very good

We visited on the very last night of our Cornwall holiday. The food quality was great, we only had to wait for about 15 minutes and the price was reasonable for Cornwall in the middle of the holiday season. Would definitely recommend.

The best tastiest quality food in Cornwall that doesn’t take your eyes out but and I mean but do not ask for your peas to be served underneath your chips???????? the answer will be no we don’t do it that way we put them in pots , they don’t understand that it is quicker saves wrapping time and they will save on the price of the pots , when did the customer not matter any more ,please please listen it’s not a crime listen and learn , I still visit jeremys when I am in the area ,great food suffering from its the way we do it

Used to be my favourite. Nit anymore the staff genuinely seem like they dont want you there and it's an inconvenience when customers turn up very and very unwelcoming.

It’s a little known fact that when in the far west of Cornwall its the LAW to visit Jeremys and take your chips to Cape Cornwall to eat them. There’s never not been a queue in all of the years that we’ve come here. Step in, place you order and its cooked freshly for you. I’m not a fish eater but my partner assures me its the best around and is always fresh and battered nicely. Chips are excellent, as is whatever we’ve ever had to go with them. Yes you may wait a while, but its worth it, and it not busy by accident.

Chips were good but the fish batter was thick and soggy. No one was sure what to do when arriving to a crowd outside. Then someone kindly explained you need to go in to order and they will give you a raffle ticket which you have to listen carefully outside for a member of staff to shout your number when your food is ready and you go back in to collect

We've been eating Fish & Chips from Jeremy's since we moved to St.Just in 2009 and for many years it was second to none but then someone else bought the shop and changed some of the staff and now it's no where near as good as it once was. I find that when the Old Lady who used to be there always is working behind the fryer then the fish and chips are really nice however when it's the Guy working it can go from OK to Really Bad depending on the day. We still buy Fish & Chips from there when it's open but ONLY when the Old Lady is working and will continue to eat their Fish & Chips in the years to come until we either move away or the Old Lady stops working there. I know that they used to get their Fish direct from Newlyn Fish Market but since the change of ownership their supplier is unknown.

Jeremy"s ist ein kleines Lokal direkt an der Küstenstraße in St. Just. Ihr Hauptgeschäft sind Fish & Chips, aber es gibt auch weiteres Fast Food. Im Obergeschoss ist abends ein Restaurant geöffnet. Tagsüber nur außer Haus oder vor der Tür Sitzmöbel. Der Fisch war köstlich paniert, kross, gut gewürzt und direkt für uns zubereitet. Die Chips könnten etwas krosser sein, waren aber ebenfalls frisch frittiert. Salz & Essig im Preis enthalten, Ketchup etc. extra 40 p. Die panierten Shrimps muss man nicht haben.. Sonst sehr sauber, man sieht die Zubereitung der Speisen und die Mitarbeiter sind sehr nett. Preis für kleine Portion Chips (reichlich genug) 1,75 GBP und mittlere Portion Fisch 5,95 GBP.

Used this chippy for the first time, the food was all cooked to order, of an excellent quality, we all enjoyed the meal very much.

Just had a week in St Just and used Jeremy's twice for fish and chips. Good to see it busy and we had two nice meals. Portions were fair and value for money.

I wouldn't usually write a review about chips but I just spent £12 on 2 steak pies and 2 of the smallest portions of chips I've ever seen! The staff looked pretty grumpy too... maybe they are expecting bad reviews.

I wouldn’t usually write a review about takeaway food but I feel like i need to about this place ! The fish and chips were definitely the worse I’ve ever had.....the large cod was no bigger than the palm of my hand and completely over cooked. The little sprinkling of burnt soggy chips were no bigger than a hand full either. Very disappointed !

So fresh quickly served took ours to cape Cornwall and eat them while enjoying the scenery. Parking a bit tricky though.

We visited last night for the second time in our holiday and again the quality of the fish and chips was fantastic. The chips were dry and crispy, non greasy and fluffy inside and for the battered fish, well possibly the best we’ve tasted. Also good prompt polite service. A must visit!

Six pieces of scampi nearly £4 expensive and small portions for average food, and when I queried the portion size I was told (I just work here make a complaint on trip advisor.

Both times we visited there was quite a wait but the fish was freshly made to order so reasonable to wait to get them. Reasonably priced and batter very light and crunchy.

Fish and chips at it's best, freshly cooked, wonderful.The fish was tender and beautifully cooked, whilst the chips were light and crispy outside, yet soft inside.Why is this not always so in other establishments, it can't be that difficult can it?Well done Jeremy's.

Once again visited Jeremy's yes a bit of a wait (minutes) lots of banter with locals from the staff and friendly to visitors. The fish and chips were exactly as I expected fresh fish crunchy batter and crispy chips. Back in Cornwall in November and will be back again

Visited on a Thursday lunchtime. There seemed to be a lot of people eating outside and the food smelled nice so as the weather was lovely we decided to get fish and chips. Staff seemed friendly. Food was cooked to order so we did have to wait a little while, my wife having medium cod and chips (no small available), myself having large cod and chips plus a can of cold fizzy drink, it came to £17.90!!!

Amazing fish and chips. Coming from London and fed up of our overrated, self-aggrandising and expensive chippy in NW London, Jeremy's was a revelation that meant we at there about four times in the space of 9 days during our stay in St Just. Will be returning but it's a hell of a way. Still, salivating at the thought.

We ordered food for 3 people and when we arrived home there was a portion of chips missing.This is not the first time this has happened and to go back to complain would have cost as much in petrol and the rest of the meal would have been spoilt.Disappointing and won’t be going again.

We only had chips curry sauce and special burger so can’t comment on the full range however what we did have was first rate. The gentleman doing the cooking was friendly and happy to have a chat and importantly makes very good chips !! We are new to the area and won’t be looking to get our fix of chippy chips from anywhere else.

Great fish and chips you can take away or pop up stairs for sit down meal great service. Very friendly staff who have great knowledge of local area and places to visit. Fish and chips were yummy and freshly cooked to order.

As many people tried to order food before the World Cup England semi-final game, the downstairs was packed. However we were ushered upstairs away from the crowd and a waitress took our order. We watched the world go by out of the window and before we knew it our food was served. I had cheeseburger and chips, very nice. Friendly staff, had a laugh and very apologetic when one item was sold out.

Visited 6pm today & asked if we could bring our two Australian Shepherd dogs into the restaurant upstairs. We were told yes if they were well behaved & they could lie under the table. I ordered fish & chips for me, scampi & chips for my wife & a jumbo sausage for the dogs. The waitress took our order downstairs & I asked her for a bowl of water for the dogs. After approximately 20 minutes she returned & told us the owner would not allow water upstairs because of health & safety in case it spilt & when she brought our food she said we could collect the dogs sausage on the way out as they were not allowed to eat in the restaurant.

We enjoyed delicious fish and chips here during our stay. Fish was fresh and tasty. Would recommend.

we come to cornwall every year and nothing beats fish and chips after a day on the beach at sennen. Great tasting fish, good chips. This year was no exception. The fish was very good, lots of flavour and just the right amount of batter. All cooked fresh so piping hot, though it was busy as always which helps keep the cooks busy and the food freshly cooked when ordered. Definitely recommend this place if you are in the area.

Very good food but slow service, however it was very busy. I would go back if I was in the area. There is a seating area upstairs.
