Excellent food in a novel environment. The stables' surroundings have been reserved really well. It was a please to be there. When the weather is good, the courtyard has loads of tables and probably gets the sun most of the afternoon in season.

We have eaten here before and thoroughly enjoyed it, so booked for family and friends to celebrate my husband's birthday. Food was very good, staff are so friendly and helpful. When we arrived a Happy Birthday banner had been put up on the wall beside our table - we had not mentioned this when booking but a staff member remembered us saying we would come in for a birthday meal last time we called in for lunch. So thoughtful. Look forward to our next visit.

We stayed a couple of doors down from this bakery and visited for breakfast on our last day. All six of us agreed that it was superb. Quality ingredients, cooked to perfection with no grease at all and really reasonably priced too. You need to book as it’s get busy and it’s a small venue but we will definitely go back. The staff were also super helpful and the service was great.

Can't recommend this highly enough. We popped in for lunch one day and went back for breakfast the next. Great choice on the menu and all freshly cooked. Lovely warm and friendly welcome - not only from the staff but from other customers (mostly local I think). Oh and the view is flippin' gorgeous as well!

A very friendly pub with lovely staff and great food. We ate in other pubs in Kingsand & Cawsand and this was definitely our favourite.

We loved the cozy, comfortable, and clean atmosphere. The food was delicious. We had the Naan pizza appetizer, roast pork with brandied apples, and the rice bowl. We paired it with cider. It was wonderful. The owner was friendly and very pleasant and visited each table. We really enjoyed our 38th anniversary. Thanks for the wonderful night.

Breakfast awful rooms with dark and awful bedding would not stay there again not what we expected

What a fabulous venue. Beautifully styled & presented; delicious food and a wonderful menu. Great atmosphere with friendly locals & and attentive host & team. A wood burner for chillier times days & nights too. Perfect!

We stayed in the pub for one night while passing through. The public parking lot was a bit far away but within walking distance. The people were very polite, nice and helpful. Unfortunately the kitchen was cold that evening and we got fast food from a nearby snack bar. The breakfast was prepared very lovingly and with a lot of effort and surprisingly good with real coffee for a pub. In some hotels it was worse.

I've been buying Pod pasties for a number of years having tried all the others locally and they're the best without question for me. Good size, good filling and as a vegetarian, they have a good selection and all at a good price. Louise and the team also catered for my mum's wake last week and I can't fault it. The food selection, quantity and the service were excellent, they accommodated vegetarians, vegans and one coeliac without any problems and there were a lot of positive comments from those that attended. I would definitely recommend them, not just for their pasties but if you're looking for them to cater an event they would be a good choice and for what they provided the price was excellent.

A little gem of a pub Good beer and lovely food 😋

Absolutely lovely pub with a great atmosphere. We had a mixed table of kids and adults and ordered loads of chilli and chips and it was delicious. The landlady was so lovely and we’d highly recommend the Rising Sun. Gutted to have gone there on our last night in Kingsand as we’d have probably been there every night!

Very much overpriced and my fish and chips were undercooked and soggy very gross will not return don’t recommend to anyone I expected It to cost maybe £8-£9 but no £12.50 I think maybe more than that and the wait was ages went in to collect it and the staff were rude and unhelpful and I was given no cutlery and had to pay for sauces Then I opened the box up outside and it was all soggy and a strange colour very off putting almost looked raw Just ended up eating some of the chips
