We loved the cozy, comfortable, and clean atmosphere. The food was delicious. We had the Naan pizza appetizer, roast pork with brandied apples, and the rice bowl. We paired it with cider. It was wonderful. The owner was friendly and very pleasant and visited each table. We really enjoyed our 38th anniversary. Thanks for the wonderful night.

Beth and her staff catered our mini wedding reception this summer. Not only was she lovely to work with, but the food was amazing! Guests kept telling us how fabulous their meals were. She was accommodating of all dietary restrictions. It is hard to get great food for weddings, let alone in the middle of the woods!

Finally stopped at the Little Fox. I always wanted to stop, but the days activities never allowed the visit. Today afforded the opportunity. I felt bad now after the visit, that we didn't stop the last few years. Great place in Big Moose to have a drink and eat delicious food! As well, which cannot be ignored, the hospitality! Jonny and Beth were very pleasant and picked your vibe right away. Very knowledgeable about the area and passionate about the food they serve. I had the bowl of New England clam chowder, which was most likely the best I ever had. Ask about the pickled eggs and wash it down with an Uncle Charlie. Their menu is by far the best in the OF-EB-BM area. Ask what's cooking, and they will tell you. Definitely don't make the mistake I did by not stopping sooner.

The Little Fox is a gem hidden just beyond Big Moose Lake. I was surprised to find that it was still considered to be in Eagle Bay. I would compare the food to the Seventh Lake House in Inlet, only less expensive. All of our dishes were delicious, served by friendly staff in a comfortable setting. There is nothing outstanding in the appearance of this place. It is humble, but friendly. The dishes however are creatively unique with tasteful flavors from Old Forge's 'The Oil Well'. My husband eats something different each time and loves it all. The owner is always nice and accommodating. Someone mentioned they felt like they were treated less than because they were not snowmobilers, we are not snowmobilers and that has never affected the quality of service we receive. I highly recommend The Little Fox! I will say that it's a 7 mile ride down Big Moose Road but it will feel like a 70 mile ride due to all the twists and turns. Just sit back and enjoy it! It's a gorgeous ride no matter what the season!

The owner is extremely rude... 7 of us waited pretty patiently for about 45minutes, mind you she allowed us to wait in the “waiting area” with beers until the table would be ready (against covid rules)... 45min later a group of 8 walked in and put tables together to seat themselves in the bar area while we were still waiting on our table. Another group of 4 came in and politely asked us if we were waiting, our response to him was yes and hopefully our table will be ready soon... this is when the owner yelled at us saying our rude snarky remarks aren’t needed and she’s doing the best she could. Well, that’s when it all changed because no one from our group was rude, or even talking to her. I asked how a group of 8 was allowed to seat themselves and yet we still stood there patiently... if she is truly the owner I can’t figure out how they have all these great reviews when she was nothing but snarky and rude to us the entire time... pretty sure covid rules say you must have a mask on while serving and not allowed to wait inside the restaurant. None the less over occupancy as well. A good friend of ours raves about this place so we decided to give it a try but did warn us about the owner. I recommend skipping this rude place and going to Glenmore the service was quick and friendly!

We had a horrible experience here. We were talked down to and yelled at in a very disrespectful way then accused of being rude. We had a group of 7 people so we expected to wait. That was no problem at all. We patiently waited with no ill will. Another group of 7 people came in and disrespectfully seated themselves without asking or anything. But they were aloud to do so because they are snowmobilers and we were not. The so called owner then proceeded to tell us that we are rude and disrespectful because my husband was asked by another guest that was waiting if we were waiting to be seated. My husband then said yes we’re waiting to be seated...hopefully soon. In my eyes that is not disrespectful or rude by any means. The “owner” then unprofessionally went off on us yelling at us. They are also violating so many covid guidelines and rules right now. Allowing people to crowd the front entrance. Allowing people to stand in entrance and drink and not wear masks. We were so very disappointed is the service and professionalism and disrespect the so called owner gave us. It was beyond ridicules and would never recommend anyone to go there unless they are ready to be treated horribly.

The owner was extremely disrespectful to our party. Our initial greeting from her was a very rude (I'll get to you in a few). Not hello ! After 20 min of waiting we asked if we could get a drink while we waited. The owner said that was ok which was surprising because it violated covid guidelines but we waited patiently for our group of 7 to be seated. While waiting 1/2 hour another group of 7 showed up walked into the bar skid 2 tables together and sat down. We still waited patiently. We were asked by another how long the wait was and we replied we hoped soon and the owner explodes and starts screaming at us in we don't like it to get out! Very classy owner. She could not care less about her customers. Absolutely no covid guidelines were being followed. Not a safe place for a family. Horrible owner

We were in the bar, eating from the bar menu rather than in Aspects itself because we had a dog. We were temp checked as we arrived but made to feel most welcome. There were enough signs to show us that they were taking re-opening extremely seriously but at the same time offering a great deal of hospitality and warmth. The meal was excellent and the boys really enjoyed the pulled pork burrito. We both had a special. The meal arrived fresh and hot with quality ingredients. Just as an aside, they do the best skinny chips! The manager was a lovely guy who has done extremely well to not only keep the business going but it’s take away service is thriving! We felt we had exceedingly good service - waited on hand and foot and we wanted for nothing. I can see why this place has managed to survive - it has a management with its customers at its heart.

Lock-down was a unexpected & such a shock. The Little Fox Hotel, and in particular, Aspects restaurant & their chefs, have really made the difference to us over the past 3 months. For a kick-off (on the joking side) everyday didn't feel like a Sunday, as we had deliveries most weeks on Wednesdays & Sundays!! The menu was so very varied, roast pork belly with crunchy crackling, steamed veg & creamy mash, Katsu curry, fish & chips, Beef massaman curry, green and red Thai curries and of-course, the stunning Sunday roasts, complete with roast potatoes, roast parsnips, healthy steamed veg & huge Yorkshire puds with either roast beef (& you could ask how you wanted it - pink, well done etc) - roast pork with crackling, occasionally lamb shanks and always with pots of gravy. The delivery by Matt has been with a smile, social distancing taken into consideration, and best of all - the time you wanted and always hot. It has been so welcome, affordable, and very, very tasty. Now we are easing into some sort of reality, albeit a different one, we shall continue to support them.

Seeking the fabled traditional Cornish Cream Tea on the wettest and wildest August afternoon in a generation, we happened upon the Little Fox Hotel. We joked about the need to formulate an escape strategy, on our approach, as the dark and winding track elicited imaginings of us driving onto the set of a Horror genre B movie. The director's camera would have lingered on each ominous portent that all was not right as the protagonists arrive. Perhaps the full to overflowing dog poo bin in the guest car park 10 yards from the front door or even the terrifyingly humorous Toilets this way sign depicting male and female effigies crossing their legs as if in desperation for relief? Beyond the side splitting Toilet sign, a guest free, soulless and silent dining/bar area. No wait! Listen carefully. Is there a best of the 60's tape playing three miles away? Enter scene Staff #1 to take our order, bring us our pot of tea, two coffee cups and two paper sachets of sugar. Staff #1 then exits stage left never to return. An awkward few minutes passes before Staff #2 arrives to busy themselves in some menial activity with their back to camera. "Excuse me, could we have some milk?".One cup of tea each later the Microwaved scones, jam and clotted cream arrive on a lovely couple of pieces of Cornish slate. These we consumed whilst being entertained by Staff #2 giving a pep talk to, new starter, Staff #3 (who with comic timing promptly broke her very first glass) and introducing Staff #4 (who had abandoned any dress code in favour of a more urban sportswear look). Anyway, I am happy to report that the old maxim "Staff should be seen but not heard" does not apply here.We ended our experience by settling up without leaving a tip and beating a hasty retreat while avoiding making eye contact with the dog poo bin (Bluh)..All in all highly delighted not to be staying a night.Hang on. Is that Basil Fawlty chasing us up the drive, waving a stick and shouting "What about a tip? You ungrateful B""""ds!"?

We ate dinner there on Friday at 7. The drive down to hidden buildings was fun and set up great expectations only to be dashed by dirty salt and pepper shakers, dirty wine glasses....we had a table by the window with fantastic views. My starter of a Portuguese fisherman’s tart was ludicrously small for £7. I should have had the generous seasonal salad as my husband did. My husband had an enormous and beautifully cooked piece of hake while yet again, chose poorly and had the rump steak and prawn sizzler. The steak was fine but the 4 tiny prawns were not quite as hoped for. The white wine could have been colder......ah well. The service was welcoming and the opposite of the meagre starter. Mixed review......

Catch of the day was hake with samphire, mushroom and borletti beans... excellent and the vegan curry was light and flavoursome. Staff very attentive. Cheeseboard tasty. Only criticisms would be that the starters didn't come with bread and the chutney on the cheeseboard was too curry flavoured for the cheese. But these are minor points. We gave this restaurant a second try. The views from the main windows at the rear of the restaurant are stunning. Unfortunately, very few of the tables in the dining room look out over them.

Tried 2 other pubs that were full and then found the Aspects Restaurant as a 'last resort'. The Betty Stogs beer was superb and so was the food. The Pasta Arrabiata and the Chorizo Burger were excellent and tasty with nice sized portions, would eat here again. The surroundings are lovely and staff helpful and pleasant.

We decided to have a family lunch with our daughter, son in law and grandson, we ordered from the menu which was varied and had what we were looking for. Although service was a little slow the food was good. Overall a good experience.

A little disappointing, very limited lunch menu and rather expensive, though the food was excellent. Pity the fried chicken was served on a wooden platter (bread board) with the sweet potato chips in a mini-chip basket.

Dinner in this restaurant in our hotel - we were unsure of what to expect and pleasantly surprised. The Pea and Mint Soup starter was refreshing and had an unexpected kick, Harissa baked lamb shank was very tasty - although a small part of the harissa had caught and was burned. The big surprise with the Lemon Posset with Mojito Granita - I liked my partner's so much that I ordered it for myself the next evening. The Steak Sizzler (finish cooking it yourself at the table) was fun. The Hake on sweet potato gnocchi ordered the following evening by another guest was declared delicious. We also had a bottle of 'Curious' Shiraz (a new label for us). Very good. Very pleasant service too. We'll be back.

We used the Aspects Restaurant for a 70th birthday lunch. There were 36 of us at the event, ranging from 8 year olds through to octogenarians. The venue was really special - a great ambience, prompt service and really tasty food. I had the crab starter, salmon and cheeses for dessert. All were really high quality.

43 of us ate there on the 13 march roast beef stewed in salty gravy, roast potatoes hard chewy and old, veg shrivelled up,all roasts the same they did bring me mash potatoes but starters of mackerel pate obviously been left on the plate for hours were dried up chaotic service, could go on nightmare.

Booked last minute and was not disappointed. We were warmly welcomed and although only 2 of us, we were shown to a lovely table for 4 in a bay window overlooking the grounds. We opted for a roast each - one lamb and one beef and they were both delicious. Especially tasty were the carrots - tasted so fresh. Although stuffed by our lunch, we still found a small space for a sumptuous dessert each. A tangy lemon posset with an alcoholic granita and a rhubarb and custard mille feuille which was divine. £39 for the 2 of us - a bargain

Decided to visit the newly remodeled Aspects Restaurant at the beginning of March 2017 for a mid week evening meal with friends. It was fairly quiet as you would expect out of season on a Thursday night. We where all favorable impressed with the new decor much better than the last time I visited. The draft beer was in good condition and 3 of the 4 mains we ordered where very good. I opted for the steak and ale pie after being reassured it was home made and not just a bought in crust on top of a bought in poor quality casserole. After a short I was told that they had run out of steak pies and opted for the seafood pie. This arrived after about 30 min and looked and smelled very nice. However once the pie lid was removed the medley of seafood, mashed potato and peas was found to be devoid of any sauce. There was no sauce with the accompanying veg. I had to send it back as it was to dry to eat. It was returned a short time later with a basic white sauce that did nothing for the flavor but at least allowed me to swallow the food. I will put this down to new staff on a quite night not being quite up to speed and as the other three mains where greatly enjoyed give the place another try in a week or two and hopefully be able to give them at least another star.

We went for dinner and although the setting is imaginative and creative the dining room is dark. However, yet again extremely over familiar staff who have clearly not been schooled in how to look after guests. The food was actually disgusting. 3 out of 5 went for the signature fish of pork which was served with 70% lumps of fat (not crackling) my sardines were clearly not fresh. The best bit was the bread. Expensive piss take.

Fantastic place to visit, great food at good prices. Amazing location with great views from the venue, with the chance to sit there whilst having a drink or bite to eat and watching the small aircraft. Excellent service from the staff, with lots of different events on

Driving along the coast from Penzance to Newlyn was an absolute pleasure. It had been decades since my last visit, and it’s just as stunning as I remember—an ideal spot to savour some freshly battered fish. Parking was a bit limited near the chippy, but fortunately, a small public car park was just a couple of doors away. The shop itself was clean and well-kept, and the staff were polite and welcoming. I ordered the lemon pepper cod, fried in a dry, seasoned batter. The fillet was thick, fresh, and perfectly spiced. I also tried the regular battered cod, which was equally delicious with its light, crispy coating. The chips were thick, fairly crispy, and served in generous portions. Both the curry sauce and mushy peas were exactly as expected from a traditional fish and chip shop—simply spot on.
