We stayed in the pub for one night while passing through. The public parking lot was a bit far away but within walking distance. The people were very polite, nice and helpful. Unfortunately the kitchen was cold that evening and we got fast food from a nearby snack bar. The breakfast was prepared very lovingly and with a lot of effort and surprisingly good with real coffee for a pub. In some hotels it was worse.

A fabulous pub and B&B - so friendly A fabulous pub and B&B. We had a two night staying. We were made really welcome by Chris and Melissa. Our room was spacious, tastefully furnished and very comfortable. The bathroom had some toiletries and lovely big fluffy towels. The room had good tea making facilities with plenty of bags, milk etc and biscuits. Also had a hairdryer. We couldn't have wanted more. Great food, great beer, great atmosphere and a welcoming host! Many thanks for a fantastic weekend. Very tasty cooked breakfasts, you can choose options, also fruits, yogurt, juice, serial with milk, fresh croissants. We ate at the restaurant on the two evenings and had fabulous meals. The menu was very varied with lots of choice, in fact it was difficult to choose! All our meals were delicious, excellent quality and perfect portion size. We were really impressed with this lovely community pub and the excellent team. It's a real amazing place in a very quiet village. Well done guys!

Room #1 - 2 x Night Stay booked via Agoda We met James the 'Holding Manager' upon arrival, the 1st thing he did was advise us about Fire Safety and the Exit points - THat was amazing customer service. James went out of his way to make sure our stay was comfortable and that we had everything we required ( our stay was over the Queens Funeral period ) The room was spacious and well appointed. Cooked Breakfast was James's speciality and large, qholesome and filling... The bar was cool and we mix with the local 'Oldoes' and enjoyed a laugh. Parking can be found either up the hill for a small payment or free at the Village Hall. The kithcen was not open Sunday or Monday for Dinner time however James offered to cook us Dinner on the Monday ( Queens Funeral day ) which was very very appreciated. There was some noise form both Outisde in hte street as well as the bar but nothing that spoilt our stya here. If we ever were in Millbroon, Cornwall ever again we would book and stay here without hesitation. Messgae to James - KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK......

We had never been to this part of Cornwall and were staying for business. We chose the Devon and Cornwall for location. We were given a warm and friendly welcome and shown to our room. Basic and warm and comfy. Unbelievably good value. The breakfast was lush. Home made, hot, generous and yummy. We both had the Full English. We ate in the pub both nights too, Again, delicious and great value. Mike and Cat have only been there for 5 weeks and seem to have made a great impression on locals. A lovely couple. Couldn't have been friendlier. We will certainly return to visit the peninsula. I want to go back on a curry and quiz night(Tuesdays) and they have regular live music too. I really hope they do well. A very difficult time for all businesses due to the Covid pandemic. They so deserve success.

pathetic place used to be inviting and lively.not now and we are not going back unless the management change. Management asked us to be quiet which we would of been happy to do-just like the last time he asked us to do. but this time he did it in such an unprofessional way buy calling us a bunch of girls and then demanding we acknowledge him repeatedly asking us to acknowledge him like he was some sort of warlord..not only that the staff could be trained on how to make make cups of tea as the response (I dont drink tea so I don't know how to make it) is crazy...shame really as we already know alot of people that has made the decision to stay away from there just didn't think we would join the list

To start with I contacted them via email to ask if we could check in early and got no reply. Next when I did check in, I was told there was a mix up, so instead of my teenage daughter and I getting the 'family' room, I was given a double. The bed mattress was uncomfortable and so we did not sleep. We had arranged with the bar staff the night before to have breakfast at 8am. We arrived downstairs at 8.05am to find no-one around. We waited 20 minutes and the cleaner kindly got the cereal out for us. Unfortunately there was something wrong with the milk, so our cereal was ruined. A flow guest actually wretched at his mouthful of cereal! The cleaner apologised that the chef should have been downstairs. By now it was 8.30am so we had no breakfast. On a plus note the room we were given was lovely and clean. We decided to vacate our room at 9am, and still the only person who was around was the cleaner, so we gave our key to her. The fact that we were overcharged for our room and that we didn't get breakfast, I am now waiting for a reply (if it ever comes)!

Fantastic breakfasts, including an almighty 'Full English'....or should that be 'Full Cornish'. Stayed for a week. On returning from the wedding we had a few drinks in the bar which was very busy despite it being late on a Thursday night! The cooked breakfast was lovely and finished our stay on a high! The only reasons for 4 and not 5 stars is that the decor in our room was not really to my taste and the room was a little cold during the night. However, overall this is a top notch B&B; which was very clean and the friendly staff were super.

Can’t really fault this place! Classic old style pub and hotel. This means authentic wonky floors and thin walls and windows but this is Devon. No parking on site like almost all places in small villages so you need to use the free small one or the paid one just minutes walk down road £3.50 for 24 hours. Pub is opposite a co-op and a premier supermarket, however both cash machines were out of money so cash back only in co op for funds! I arrived in a late rush, the man quickly showed me the room and took my bag up for me so I can get changed and jump in car to wedding down the road. When I returned at 11pm, plenty of locals drinking in pub still. Room was freezing cold as they had left the windows open probably before I had arrived - I hadn’t noticed it when I arrived in a rush so hadn’t shut it myself and the radiator was turned off. As it’s February this meant the room was absolutely freezing cold and very hard to warm up so late at night with a small radiator - however a thin extra quilt (needs a cover to hide its age) was in the wardrobe so I used that on top of the double. Alarm clock had double usb point in which meant no plug needed, bed was soft and comfy and overall room was clean and lovely. Yes buses are window height and it’s not the quietest of places so take ear plugs, but this is quite normal for buildings of such age and character.....upvc double glazing would be a horrendous site lol. Would stay here again. Breakfast really tasty and was made when I eventually got out of bed although they can take a order for a set time. Staff were really friendly. I paid £55 through hotels.com for my double room which was how it looked in the pics :) thanks

Staying locally and arrived at our accommodation late so went to nearest village to get something to eat. Tried this place. Very noisy bar but pleasant welcome, so ordered drinks and food. In terms of people eating there, it was very quiet so I don't understand why it took such an inordinately long time for the food to arrive. Had a chicken and bacon thing which was smothered in BBQ sauce. Tasted very Heinz 57, certainly not home made. Chicken was very dry and bacon very fatty. Burgers were stupidly served on a small wooden chopping board. Why? Is this supposed to be trendy? Instead the chips kept falling off the edge. Had to ask for a plate. Burger was relatively tasty but dreadfully dry and overcooked. The side salad was limp and lettuce stems were going brown. Perhaps it was just a bad day in the kitchen. I hope so .

Declaration of interest: I'm a local and I love my Local. The D&C, as it's known to the consternation of midwives everywhere, is a place where you're guaranteed a friendly welcome. The food is at the upper end of "pub grub" and I've never had a disappointing meal there - as a family we use the place regularly out of choice both for everyday "can't be bothered to cook" eating and for birthday celebrations and the like. The pub holds a Cask Marque for keeping its ales well (currently offering Timothy Taylor's Landlord and Otter Best). In these straitened times, the D&C wouldn't survive if it weren't offering very good quality food and service. If you're in the area I'd recommend a visit.

We stayed in Millbrook and quickly found ourselves part of the local crowd in the Devon and Cornwall. The food is excellent value, really tasty home cooked food at bargain prices, with various 'specials' nights through the week. The dining area isn't 'posh'; plastic table cloths rather than white linen, but the food that turns up fresh out of the kitchen could have been cooked at a restaurant charging 3 times the price. Plenty of room most nights off season but I bet you need to book early in the summer. Don't miss the quiz night, but get there early if you want a table.
