Very mixed bag. Saw the farm animals which was nice. Stopped in the restaurant as well and asked for a table, the waitress asked what we were intending to have and we said some of the cake we'd heard so much about but not sure entirely yet. She sat us at a table and proceeded to take away all the place settings, cutlery and menus.... I said can I have a lunch menu please to see what there is. She rolled her eyes and said but I've just taken your cutlery away. She bought us back one set of cutlery for four people and one menu, presumably because only one of the four had mentioned having lunch. The food that did come was good, although there was a very long wait but given the benefit of the doubt as it was very busy. When we went to pay we asked if the cake leftovers could be boxed as our four year old couldn't finish it. We were handed a box and a spoon and motioned to do it elsewhere ourselves. We then went to the farm shop.... It looked great, we bought a basket of 'fresh produce' and chicken thighs from the butchers. The butchers raised an eyebrow as the aprons they wore were filthy and clearly crusted in old meat, and alot of the meat looked dated to say the least. However it had good review from the great taste awards so we went ahead. Come the evening (same day) none of the produce was usable. The groceries were all either mouldy inside the packs or rancid. The chicken thighs were off, even our dogs who will eat anything discarded them. If you want an average place for a trip out locally for lunch it's probably worth it but not at what they charge. Avoid the shop it you don't want to get sick. We are not tourists either, we live within miles of the venue.

We dropped in for breakfast and it was awful it was so dry thank goodness it had beans on it. Toast was cold and thin sliced.£4.50 for hot chocolate was a rip off. Service was good. What has happened to the place as it used to be really good

We booked a table for six people. It was a very busy Sunday but the carvery was still delivered within a reasonable time. Unfortunately my plate was swamped in gravy, maybe I should have asked for a separate gravy bowl. I had pork and found it tough and overall the veg lacked flavour. The portion size was good and the food was delivered plated. The most annoying thing for me was the background noise from staff shouting instructions to each other plus one particular noisey lady customer behind us. The overall noise level ruined the experience, but added to that was the queue to pay on the way out. Maybe I'm in the minority as the restaurant was very busy.

Nipped in yesterday for the first time after hearing so many good things. Only got a take away pudding, caramel shoe. Looked amazing but when I got home and had a taste I can only assume they had gone wrong with the recipe. It was SO salty to the point where i might have well just been eating a himalayan salt lamp, I could only stomach about a third of It before i gave up :( staff were great though, pudding was just inedible.

This was our first visit and it was packed. We came for tea and cake and initially saw an amazing array of cakes. We were offered a table in the main room, but it was incredibly noisy and asked to go to the conservatory, this was quieter but still too loud for conversation. Need some sound deadening. I ordered a cream tea, my wife a tea and apricot tart. My wife's tea arrived without milk, ten minutes later we asked for milk and it came. Fifteen minutes later her tart arrived and after chasing again my cream tea came. I was pleased with the scones and cream, but couldn't understand why a farm shop and cafe with home grown fruit would give out jam in single use small jars, what a waste. Surely you would turn your unsold fruit into jam and use it in the cafe. We did visit the shop afterwards and get a few items, but really it could be so much better.

This is the third time of eating here. Originally, we received a voucher as a Christmas present to use while on holiday, since the first experience, we have received several vouchers to use here as we ranted about how great the food was. Depending on your order, some of the food wouldn't be out of place in a swanky London restaurant.

We have to visit Trevaskis every time we come to Cornwall. The food is phenomenal with very generous portion sizes, so be sure to go on an empty stomach! To end your meal, you get to choose one of their desserts from the signature counter FULL of tasty treats. We advise taking this home to enjoy. Would highly recommend a visit if you are heading to Cornwall for a staycation.

My wife and I have been to Trevaskis farm at least twice a year for the last 6 years or so. We kept coming back as the breakfast was amazing and the farm shop has some excellent produce. This year breakfast (both times we went) was terrible. It’s as if they have lost their pride and good standards. Breakfast is £14 and it isn’t worth £7.00. The eggs were precooked and very over, the bacon was like rubber, the beans were luke warm, mushrooms were deep fried and the potatoes were so scarce it was hardly worth adding them. It’s a shame as it used to be phenomenal. I was going to complain but a man with 4 kids complained and he wasn’t listened to. In the end he just said he wouldn’t pay. I couldn’t do that but I wish I could. The staff were great, the place itself is lovely but the food was absolutely awful (dreadful even) on both our holidays this year. Go back to how you were doing things 3 years ago is my advice. Big portions (cooked with care) of all your lovely produce and sourdough toast. It was a winner. At the very least you have to up your standards. I know I have been brutally honest but we both love coming to your farm. We have even dined at night a few times. Really hope you listen to this review as it is meant to be a kindness from customers that care.

Made a trip here over the weekend for lunch with friends. I had not been here for at least 8 years and it appeared to be the same quality and comparable prices. None of us were dissapointed with our meal choice (all had dirty fries). Then chose cakes to takeaway - all had different and happy with our choices. Would return with no hesitation. Called in to the farm shop before we left - very good selection of products.

Trevaskis farm used to be amazing, expensive, but amazing. Now it is expensive and disappointing. Sadly they have fallen into the trap like so many others in Cornwall, prices through the roof and portions and quality an afterthought. What a shame, had the standard roast 2 potatoes and very little chicken for about £17 if I remember right!! Think I will be giving this a miss in future.

Overpriced and disappointing. Some friends recommended this restaurant as being very good. Sadly that’s not what we got. My son ordered a chicken burger, no salad or mayo. When it arrived the plate was covered with salad and the burger had a large leaf plonked in it. My husband did better, he ordered the burger which actually looked impressive and he said it was ok. The downside to both their meals was the fact the portion size of chips were really small. When you’re paying £16.95 you’d at least think you’d get adult sized portion and not a child’s! I ordered the baked potato with prawns and requested extra butter. The small potato had clearly been microwaved, had some really hard bits at one end that a knife couldn’t get through and needed cooking for a bit longer as the potato was still hard. No extra butter as requested. Nearly £4 for a coffee! Young staff trying their best but the chefs need a telling off!

Been coming to Trevaskis for many years. Always great food and service. Unfortunately not the same this year. Understandably food prices have gone up considerably with the current climate, but did feel a bit over priced. Emailed the farm regarding matters and they replied very promptly with in depth justifications. We did love the strawberry/raspberry/plum picking though and kids loved seeing the animals on the little farm. Coffee was great and the cake was amazing- malteser cake; which we got to take away.

Service was prompt and friendly, and the food arrived quickly. We ordered ham eggs and chips and a roast. Both were OK but nothing special. The ham was quite salty and the chips were a little soggy, with the roast it was evident that the beef had been cooked the day before and smothered with gravy. I also found it strange that we were asked to pay (and add a gratuity) as we ordered. How could we add a tip when we didn’t know how good the service would be? I’m left with mixed feelings. We loved our visit to Trevaskis Farm! We stopped for a cream tea, this was good but could have had a bit more cream and jam and the scones were a bit crumbly. When we were attacked by wasps outside a waitress very kindly helped us and took our things inside to eat. We then went to the fruit picking which was quite scarce at first, but so glad we wandered further to find the gorgeous strawberries and raspberries! Two small baskets only came to just over £12, which we agreed for the experience, quality of the fruit etc was very reasonable. We then went into the farm shop which had incredible choice, however we couldn't find scrumpy or farm fresh eggs, whether they didn't have it at the time or just not at all we weren't sure. Would love to come again!

The fruit picking was amazing and is priced well. We managed to get 4 punnets of strawberries 1 box of plums and 1 box of runner beans for £16 . But we got tired halfway and stopped in the restaurant. The waitress we had was good but it felt like she was looking down on us like we were lesser then them . We ordered some a 4 child drinks 2 soft drinks and 2 hot drinks we also ordered us all (8 people) a cake .on the menu the cakes are listed as being £5.95 for children yet even after we specifically said 6 of the 8 cakes for for children the waitress still put them on for an adult price (£6.95) .all in all the total was £81 . We wanted to get a manager since we wanted to know why they were put on as an adult cake . This manager look down on us and said "well the kids seem to of eaten them" and sure they did but that wasn't the point the point was that the waitress knew we wanted the cakes as child sizes not adult .we ended up paying £80 the manager took of £1 🤦♀️

We would go to this place regularly before COVID lockdown and the food was excellent. We visited on the 30th July as a group of four, we all found although the food was plentiful, it was not very nice. We all had roast dinner and between us found the lamb was fatty and greasy and one of our group found the lamb seriously undercooked. The whole meal was overpowered by the cauliflower cheese to which it made the meal tasting mainly of rancid cheese. Apart from the crisp carrots, the rest of the veg was sloppy. The person did mention the lamb was really undercooked and they offered to replace it but by then we just didn't want to eat anymore. If we do ever go back we will definitely not be having a roast! Honestly, one of the best meals I’ve ever had! Portions were massive, food was as fresh as it gets and the prices are good! Lovely atmosphere!

Fabulous breakfast. Eggs Benedict were superb. The hogs pudding on the full English was so tasty. Lovely staff and great music. The dessert counter was really something.....wow!

Food was quite tasty, although I'd urge caution with the 3 course meal promotion option as the portion sizes are so small that I left feeling hungry. The staff are friendly and welcoming although we waited for about 40+ minutes for our food to arrive.

After nearly 30 yrs away, everything is just as good as it always was when we lived here. Adele should be proud of maintaining superb food and the farm standards. Beware newbies though. Go there with big appetite, esp the desserts. They are outrageous!!

Great value - seasonal 3 course specials are great. And the service and food is amazing! It's a must visit when I'm lucky enough to be in the area. Will definitely be back

Went for Sunday lunch. Was not dissappointed. Food was top class and hot. The choice from the menu's was very good. Anything you wanted, we had a roast dinner and you could choose from beef, pork, chicken or lamb. It came with seasonal veggies and there was plenty of it.

We went as a party of 12 for a business meal out with colleagues and quite honestly, couldn’t have chosen a better venue! The staff are very attentive, extremely polite, very efficient and couldn’t do enough for us on the night, a credit to the restaurant. The menu is very varied and as there were 12 of us, there were many different starters and main courses ordered. Every single person had nothing but good feedback on every dish that was put in front of them….and the portions are a great size, no skimping there at all. I had the fillet steak with garlic sauce and it was cooked to perfection and tasted delicious. Will definitely be back the next time we are in the area….simply excellence personified and great value.

We had the small breakfast which was tasty. We had toast and a fruit salad. The fruit salad had strawberries:apples and blue berries and raspberries. There is a pick your own here and they have their own pigs. The farm shop is good to buy something

We have not been to TREVASKIS for a meal for long time as our last experience was not good. We were a party of four, same as our last visit. However, so disappointed that our visit today was no better. The outside eating area was a disgrace, very dirty, weeds growing all over eating area, garden furniture in a terrible state and again, very worn and dirty. Definitely needs a revamp. The whole of the outside area as you drive in and parking areas very untidy and overgrown. Staff were very polite and welcoming. Two had the roast pork, the roast was ok, but the pork was wafer thin, nothing special, no crackling available. I had a ham salad which was very nice, and my friend had ham/egg and chips, which he said was ok, but his ham was not the same standard as I had in my salad. We all had desserts, which were very nice, but expensive at £7.95 each. We will definitely not be returning again, such a shame to see such a once beautiful clean establishment gone done hill.

Well what can I say about our visit here I come from Penzance and for many years when it very first opened it was absolutely brilliant place I now live away but parents still live down here Before going back we went for lunch Absolutely appalling service terrible . We were left waiting for a long time after our meal ,so we decided to go up to the counter and look at the deserts My mum is Celiac and we had to keep asking what all the puddings are The lady was serving takeaway puddings we stood there for 20 mins When my dad said let’s forget it We were ignored ! And when asking to speak to the manager she informed me that she had sent staff home as it was quiet! Not I’m very sorry for this can I get the desert now for you ! But no ! Absolutely shocking for manager to not offer anything . Perhaps the owner should be looking at employees that are local ! Well over priced Where do you think you are London !! And you will find Cornish people tend to stick together,as the owner very well knows ,as it’s us that keep your place open in the winter months I will definitely not recommend you or be returning I would rather go Mac Donald’s ! I will also be reporting you to food standards agency because not one desert is labelled what it is and what it contains . So customers standing there like we were for 20 mins asking 20 questions what desert is which Shocking place !!!!!!

Sadly didnt get to taste any of the food Went with my partner , inlaws and two dogs , we wanted to have some lunch and were told that lunch time was dog friendly if you eat outside or in the covered area at the side, Wow the out seating was dirty and dusty and the seating in the covered area even worse rusty chairs and dirty tables , guess we should have realised when we drove up and saw NO ONE sat outside So very disappointing we will definitely not be going again , as i said i can not comment on the food or service but if you are looking for a nice outside dining experience avoid this venue

I haven’t been to Trevaskis for many years when the children used to love going for the cream filled cakes and desserts. Today I visited with some friends for tea and cake, but didn’t want the rich, cream desserts so chose an apricot tart. It was rock hard and inedible. I took it back and it was exchanged for a brownie with no argument. The brownie was dry and crumbly, I didn’t eat it. Look, we don’t all want huge desserts consisting mostly of massive amounts of cream. Please consider improving your selection of small cakes to have with tea. Also improve the quality of them. They are not worth the money. I’m not tempted to come back again.

Unfortunately this place is living on past reputation. Brisket like a hockey puck, shrivelled up veg and £4.85 for a Diet Coke. Overpriced and poor quality. Disappointing, won’t be back.

Not as good as it used to be, we got ushered to our table by a staff member who wasn't very happy, we sat & waited, just after us a table of 6 came & there orders were taken, we still waited until we asked..we had trevaskis breakfast & a pot of weak tea, hard fried eggs, hogs pudding cold, soggy potato chips & beans slung in the middle of the plate, the toast was just about toasted, expensive for what we got & the staff looked miserable & not friendly...

I’m sure this restaurant is very successful, good reputation too. However I was very disappointed to receive a luke warm vegetarian lasagne served with salad. I pointed out that it would be better served separately in its own bowl with salad on the side because hot and cold food should not be served on the same plate. The following day I had an upset stomach because as lasagne is only heated up, not freshly cooked, it should have been thoroughly heated to remove any bacteria. This applies to any food previously cooked. The restaurant has a good reputation and has been established for years so I wished I’d chosen something else.

Had a nice stay here, lovely staff, quirky layout Consistent with the age of the building, comes its own leper window. Good well kept ale and excellent food. Also has its own car park.

Our family of six recently dined here and nearly all of us had the pork belly which was superb, definitely the best we’ve eaten. The pub was really busy, we needed to book, and the atmosphere was lovely. We will be back.

Superb pizza at the wood-fired pizza place. Lots of great options - I went for the goat cheese with added fennel sausage, and it was fantastic. Perfect balance of savoury with sweet (caramelized onions), everything fresh. Crust was phenomenal. Highly recommended.
