We are regulars - well once a year when we come to St Mary’s! - and never miss out on a lunch here. What amazing views! The 6 of us had a selection of delicious foods - sandwiches, pate quiche and scampi. The side dishes of excellent crispy chips were quite large and next time we’ll share . The staff were lovely too - and weren’t phased by an unexpected and very heavy downpour leading to us all grabbing our plates and dashing inside!

We have stayed at St Mary's Hall many times on full board so we have used the Hall restaurant on many occasions and have always thought the food exceptional. This year we opted to self cater on then Island allowing us more evening freedom, but we wanted to book an evening meal for our wedding anniversary. We had a table in the Grill Room to allow us to bring our Cocker Spaniel with us. The Hall is obviously very proud of the steaks that it offers it's guests as there are pictures all around the restaurant, I would normally have had fillet steak , but as this was not available, I opted for a sirloin which they recommended medium rare, to say I was disappointed was an understatement, my steak was very tough and chewy and full of gristle, I just could not eat most of it. I did complain to the waitress and received £10 of the final bill. But for £49 for just the steak you expect it to be perfect, don't you? That said my wife who is a vegetarian, thoroughly enjoyed her meal. I am sure this was just an unfortunate experience and it will not deter us from ever using The Hall again.

Stayed for 5 days in HellBay Hotel which isHeaven on Earth!😂 You can even take your dog there Island Fish is the best place to eat unless you dont like fishes. The deserted beaches are magical. Ask who is Frodo - if you like dogs you will love him to If you go to St Martins eat at the seven stones pub. Food fab u lous view is even better! I scoredthis a 4 out of 5 as it is so expensive to get there and there are too few places to stay

The Bell Rock came to our rescue when our flight was cancelled and we had to spend an unplanned additional 3 nights in Hughtown. The hotel is spotlessly clean throughout and very comfortable. We were given room 2 on the second floor, which is lovely if you can manage two flights of stairs (there isn’t a lift). The room is big with a comfortable superking bed (if made for two) and a view of the harbour over the rooftops. This window was a great spot for watching the sunset! The spacious bathroom has a powerful shower over the bath and yet another window with a sea view. The pool, in its own building, was a real asset, if a little chilly and the benches outside the front of the hotel were a nice sunny spot for reading in the afternoons. All of the staff were kind, friendly and very competent. A big thank you to you all for a lovely few days.
