Not normally one for reviews but the reviewer who shared the term Basil Fawlty was bang on. Have a read of the reviews 3 and less and also the responder's inability ever to take on-board feedback without some sarcastic remark or, you should of told us and got into the inevitable difficult exchange where the customer is made uncomfortable. Sometimes it is better to just pay, go, and never return. As Jeff Bezos says “ your brand is what customers say about you when you are not in the room” Instead making the customer feel uncomfortable or need to raise, the food and experience need to be right in the first place is my advice. Our experience was that the service was ok, the server was polite. However, the food was a mixed bag. Four of us had the burgers, OMG, I have never seen or experienced anything like it. It looked anaemic, burger looked like it was out of a birdseye pack and had been boiled or microwaved, whatever it was it was weird. I opted for cheese topping which consisted of just a single slice of processed cheese slapped on for which a charge (1.75 I think for a slice of processed cheese), not even a token amount of lettuce to decorate the plate, or even in the burger. Just a small portion of sweaty /soggy chips. I was stunned when I saw if arrive. I thought it was just me so did not say anything then, when we came out others in the party who had the same said "what the hell was that food". It was not cheap either. I wish I took a photo of it as it would have shown better. I can only describe the look at something you made at home when starting to cook as a child. Further, what I found weird was for someone running a hospitality business the person appeared to find customers irritating no matter what, his comments, and attitude were off and we had not even upset him, hence the Basil Ref, I get it. I could go on but I will suffice to say; Clearly, some people like the place, and maybe we were just unlucky. Alternatively, on St Martins the Six Bell's is friendly, Quirky and the food is significantly better value. I loved Fraggle owner's comments ref they were one of the only places serving brown crab which basically means serving all of the crab, nothing special just rinsing the most out of the crab but dressing it up as if it is. LOL. If you want crab/ shellfish then the cafe on Bryer is fantastic and value for money. Sorry sir I appreciate that you will want to be in denial and throw stones back so be it if it helps you, but it is honest feedback on our experience. Maybe if you took some of the less flattering feedback on board as well as only the good then you would delight more of your customers. That or embrace the Basil Fawlty experience and people could flock to the establishment for the experience.

Recently spent a week on the Isles of Scilly, just off the mainland of Cornwall, UK.While spending a day visiting the island of Bryher, we called at the Fraggle Rock café/bar/restaurant for an Al fresco lunch. My Wife is a coeliac and it can sometimes be difficult for establishments to cater for her dietary restrictions.Sue and her extremely capable staff were brilliant!Nothing was too much trouble! They even had gluten free bread available! Also, the two young ladies that were "waiting tables" were very pleasant and courteous. They had to make a couple of visits back into the kitchen for allergy advice but always with a smile on their faces.Plus - we had fantastic food!

This has to be one of my all time favourites. The setting, the food, the company, staff are just magnificent. I took my partner with me camping on Bryher during the lifting of restrictions. They had sanitiser everywhere and a brilliant one way system and we felt 100% safe. Chris as always is just the perfect host and his wife's food and presentation of food amazing. The waitresses are just so helpful and cheery.....it might not be everyone's cup of tea.....but for me this is perfection. Views, great food, friendliness....... and Bryher ......... we are in our 60's and my GF said she would never camp again at this age.....she has already asked me to book again for 2021 lol!!!! Oh we ate at Fraggle rock about 10 times during our stay!

Yes it was peak season, yes it was busy, but despite there being plenty of staff on the service was very slow. Some of the dishes on the menu present better value than others. The fish finger sandwich went down a treat - can't go far wrong with a fish finger buttie though. But the white bait was greasy and whilst the portion size wasn't bad it only came with tartare sauce. A hunk of bread would have been a welcome addition and wouldn't be too costly an offering - and it would have meant that the three in our party who opted for white bait weren't have been feeling queasy for the rest of the day.

This place is a little casual restaurant featuring upstairs seats and tables near the bar, and outdoor tables on the ground floor. Hot dishes and cold drinks (including beer and cider “on tap”) are available. This is a family hangout, not a tavern, despite being locally called “the bar”, and was popular on an unusually warm sunny day close to Easter. We had cold drinks upstairs at lunchtime, sitting next to a group of birdwatchers, and the barman was friendly and prompt. Reasonable prices, as an alternative to having lunch at Hell Bay. Thank you all. For a small island miles away from civilisation, we were always refreshed with the local Cornish beer. The food was excellent, but I would advise that if you want to eat in the evening, you should book ahead. We were fortunate enough to experience an open mic music night, which considering the small amount of islanders and guests, it was an evening rich in talent and great atmosphere... 5 star, love this little gem

Wonderful location just metres from a small beach. Really friendly staff, great beer and excellent food. Wonderful views of Tresco from the upper restaurant. We were made to feel like locals!

Four of us stayed for a week at one of the cabins at Fraggle Rock. The accommodation was excellent and next time we come back to Bryher we hope to stay at the same place again.

Today we had the fish chowder. This was quite tasty if a little to much pepper. But nice selection of fish. Very watery so not like other chowders I’ve had.

Sunday lunchtime in April to establish the menu was all basically light lunch options. Some of these options had sold out.... at 12.30!

Stopped in here for a drink and saw the whitebait on the board and couldn't resist them - hot and crispy - just as they should be washed down with a pint of Doom Bar.

Have stayed on Bryher on 2 previous occasions and was originally dissapointed with a rather lukewarm welcome.... however much better this time, only had a drink and crisps but vast improvement on previous visit 2 years ago....

I wanted a nice pause before taking the boat but found nothing I fancied in this cafe, no cake except a single piece of industrial carrot cake. happily I found the Vine Cafe. But if you want to sit outside, the fraggle Rock will be your choice.

Amazing location & great food, just down the road from the campsite so very handy. If you want to eat in the evening you need to book as the restaurant is not large.

on the small island of Bryer a cafe with good coffee and cake. The menu looked wonderful and comprehensive for a place away from the crowds. Well worth popping in .
