We were actually staying in the Summer House which belongs to Juliet's Garden so it just made sense to try the restaurant and we were so glad we did. The staff were all so friendly and made a right fuss of our Cocker Spaniel. We had drinks on the terrace before our meal and then were showed to our table. The food surpassed what we expected, it was excellent, and my wife being a vegetarian it made a nice change for her to have a choice different to the normal, no vegetable lasagna on this menu. The staff were polite friendly and very efficient. we loved our first meal we booked to go back later in the week, and that meal too was excellent. It is a shame they were only doing evening meals three times a week, but we understood there was staffing issues. We would definitely recommend an evening visit, it is only a short walk out of Hugh Town.

Oh dear, oh dear! This autumn visit in no way measured up to many superb previous visits to Juliet's over almost a decade. This was entirely due to very poor management and this is not a criticism of the staff who did their very best given limited resources and a noticeable lack of colleagues to support them. We are very tired of hearing "It's the end of season and we've run out of this that and the other" Mid September is not the end of season which is technically not until the 30th October when the Scillonian makes its last run. We ordered the seafood platter which is our one off holiday treat during our usual fortnights stay. No crab and very few of the usual accompaniments we look forward to. A smaller plate than previously simply because the portions were mean. At £28 each we expected something special; this was anything but. The music playing in the background was awful and not in keeping with the so called class of the establishment. The only thing which worked well was relieving us of our money (no discount for the absent ingredients) at the closure when we overheard another disgruntled customer being told they were short staffed due to students returning to University and sorry for a long wait due to lots of people arriving off the Scillonian at once. Surprise, surprise! That happens most days in the season. In all a visit not worth the walk up the hill.

We’ve been coming to Juliet’s Garden for a few years now and always enjoy the daytime menu and fantastic view over to St Mary’s harbour and other islands. We joined the recent Wine and Food Pairing evening, held during the Isles of Scilly Food Festival. This was a very enjoyable and rewarding experience: Iain the host/ manager entertained and displayed his excellent wine knowledge throughout, and the staff worked flat out to bring us the dishes to be paired with the various wines. It was a very memorable evening - well done Iain and team!

Regrettably my wife had a mediocre experience from arrival to departure . The greeting was friendly , the allocated table overlooking the water was acceptable , but the very limited menu did little to inspire . When we asked what was the ‘ Fish of the day’, the very mundane and extremely surprising response was ‘Pan fried Salmon with a brown butter sauce ‘ …. this indicated a very real lack of connection to the local fishing industry , and a total lack of ambition to impress visitors. I ordered the Fish Stew , and my wife ordered the Seafood Pasta . Both were adequate but uninspiring - the Stew consisted of basic fish trimmings both fresh and smoked , plus 1 large store bought prawn - swimming in a lacklustre tomato sauce . In contrast the Seafood pasta dish revealed 8 large store bought prawns , plus a number of inexpensive commercial baby Cray Fish tails ……certainly neither exuded the ‘taste of the Scillies ‘ , nor the expected culinary skills . My wife and I enjoy quality food and we certainly do not object paying for high standards , but this meal was not the memorable experience we had anticipated . As we departed the premises after an £80 bill , loud music was emanating from the kitchens - perhaps the chef should focus her team on preparing more inspiring menus , serving higher quality food , and achieving more consistency in quiet and disciplined surroundings .

Visited twice during our holiday - once for lunch and the other for a food and wine pairing event - very different experiences. The wine/food event was FANTASTIC! Brilliantly hosted, staff couldn’t do enough for us and the food/wine matching was fabulous. The portions of both were massive and we had an amazing evening. If you get the chance to take part - do it! It was wonderful! Thank you! Conversely, the lunch visit was average at best - high expectation due the price sadly not fulfilled. Can’t deny the beautiful view mind you!

We were recommended to Juliet’s Garden by a family we met on the Scillion over to St Mary’s and it was well worth the recommendation, not only did we walk along the coast line to get there we got a stunning sea view outdoor table. The menu had something for everyone, and our boys were really happy with their sandwich choices. We opted for a Greek salad and seafood plate, really yummy. Service was great. Really nice staff. Perfect spot for a bit of lunch.

Visited a few times in our stay and mostly good, lunch was pleasant, amazing views … staff friendly and accommodating. Juliet was lovely. We had a Saturday evening meal and only 1 out of 4 enjoyed it .. steak was gristly but tasted ok around it, fish stew was too much tomato, needed a softer base and i had the vegetarian lentil and halloumi which was stone cold so sent it back .. by the time it had returned my party had eaten and i was not hungry but they kindly took it off the bill so i cant fault that ! i would definitely return though !

We stopped here whilst on a buggy tour with some friends. There was about 8 of us and then another 6 of our groups arrived as well. We did get a little told off for moving about on seats but we were just talking to friends but the chap that we felt had been a little sharp with us did redeem himself and was very jolly with us all whilst ordering some food. We just went for a drink but some ended up having lunch and I opted for the cream tea pudding. It was delicious and extremely sweet. I could only manage half but luckily one of our friends had offered to help me out should I not be able to eat it all so it didn’t go to waste. The service was all mainly friendly, the food was great and the views, well we could have stayed there all day but we really wanted to see around the other half of the island that we hadn’t walked so we tore ourselves away! We were very lucky with the weather on our stay. Great place for coffee and cake. We need to try the lunch next time we return.

We only ended up stopping for morning tea here as despite there being lots of great looking food on the menu, we realised we were still digesting breakfast and it was just too soon to eat! Location is fantastic however as was the service. Whatever the weather, including the heavy fog when we were there, it’s just a great spot to watch the changing weather and there’s great views (or glimpses) of Hugh Town, the harbour and the other islands. Highly recommended.

A quiet garden setting near Hugh Town that overlooks the harbour and with spectacular views to the off islands, this is a special place. All the staff so friendly and polite and full of fun. While eating in the garden on the sunny terraces, should a shower blow over everyone is quickly reseated inside with no fuss and service continues uninterrupted. A wide-ranging menu offers all sorts of fresh and inviting dishes from tapas and salads to sandwiches and cream teas. We ate on two occasions and sadly each time due to the rough weather and high seas the local crab was not available but I would love to go back to try the crab beignets! However we very much enjoyed our ‘major meze’ (the pork rillettes was outstanding) and squid, honeycomb ice-cream (fresh from St Agnes island) and chocolate cake. Well worth all the hype! Do go if you can.

The location is excellent and great to sit outside with harbour views. We were served quickly (there wasn't many people there at the time), but there were a few items missing from our order which they then did bring . Staff were polite if a little distracted. The meals were okay, think sadly the meals a number of years ago were far tastier with slightly better portions and variety. Think its the location that has the main draw to the restaurant now.

Everything ran so smoothly from start to finish and we were even blessed with warm blue skies and a stunning sunset! The food was (as always) so delicious. Everyone agreed that Julietts put together one of the most beautifully presented buffets ever. Prawns, Lobster, meats, cheeses, pate, delicious salads etc followed by the best chocolate brownies and ice cream! The staff were superb, really attentive and an absolute delight all evening as we danced the night away. I never have anything negative thing to say about this wonderful place. Thank you Julietts, for the perfect evening.

Always a treat to dine at Juliets. Quite possibly the very best setting on the islands. I love the scenery. Staff were very polite and attentive. Unfortunately the food we ate wasn't up to a reasonable standard considering the cost and by comparison to other island venues seemed very below par. We had the Lobster roll, nothing wrong with the lobster, but lacking the finesse and quality of presentation that we often find elsewhere. The chicken wrap was lacking in taste and quite possibly the toughest chicken I've ever had the displeasure of tasting. It's going to be hard to come back and try again as the food really was disappointing unfortunately. Such a shame, as on the whole a good experience and everybody else around us seemed happy with their experience.

On arrival just before midday, we were shown to an outside table by a young lad who gave us menus and told us that someone would take our order shortly. Juliet's was not busy No one came and after 15 minutes I went inside to seek assistance. I was advised that outside tables were attended by the outside staff, and someone would be with me very soon. On my way out again, I passed the lad who had placed us earlier, and remarked that we were ready to order. Neither he nor another waitress made any shift to come our way. We decided we should go on our way instead, but one of our number sallied inside for a last attempt. Here she spotted a group of about six of the gormless young staff who were busy sharing some private chat. Despite a polite request for service, we were further ignored. We left. If you want to be treated with uninterested inattention, and pay handsomely for it if it if a service staffer ever arrives, then pile on in; otherwise, patronise a more customer-orientated establishment, of which there are enough on the round St. Mary's walk to give this place a miss.

We have visited Julietts Garden many times over the past 8 years and the food has always been brilliant. Regrettably now it’s gone massively downhill. The evening menu is largely battered fish, yet in the past they have offered options such as excellent steak, mussels...

We had been looking foreword to our meal at Juliet’s Garden and were very disappointed. Maybe most of our recommendations had been for lunch but the evening meal was very average with poor service. Since we visited last Friday we have heard the same comments.

Having been recommended, we booked for dinner weeks in advance. We were disappointed to be allocated a table with no view. Waiting to be moved to a window seat was well worth it. Dinner was ok, but not good value compared to other places we...

We were really impressed when we visited this restaurant. Though they were extremely busy the staff were super friendly & efficient. We had a lovely crab sandwich on fresh bread, whilst enjoying watching the bustle of the local harbour, what a spot!

Have always rated Juliet’s highly over the years and enjoyed visiting. Disappointed at last years evening meals which were very average to poor so decided to give lunchtime a try again this year. Prawn sandwich and baguette was tasty but have to say the waitress...

We enjoyed a drink on the outside terrace, while looking through the menu. Two of our party have food intolerances and the waiting staff guided us through the menu, suggesting what meals would be suitable/could be adapted - very friendly and helpful. Ate our meal...

Excellent crab baguette, but as regular annual customers, my mum was very disappointed in the size of the scones. Brexit, cost of everything, who knows

Enjoyed a lovely cream tea with an amazing view probably the best view in St Mary's. Nice staff can highly recommend.

We've been coming to Scilly for years and always had fantastic (if a little expensive) meals at Juliet's. This time the experience was just simply daylight robbery! A party of 4, 3 of us ordered steaks with sauce at £26 odd each. The steaks came...

Expected better given other reviews here. Lovely atmosphere, views over St Marys are wonderful. Staff friendly and polite but could have been more attentive. Food was average, with small portion sizes though tasty, but pricey for what you get. Would I return, maybe, but I’ll...

Very welcoming, Great ice cream flavours. Especially the Ferrero Roche and Millionaires shortbread. Lady went above and beyond for our dog letting her sit in the shade on a 25 degree day to enjoy her pup cup. Thank you!

the only place open on a Sunday on St Martins! So glad it was open, it was absolutely heaving but we got there in time to get seats and what was left of the cakes and drinks.
