We were on an overnight stay and looking for a place to eat. We popped in on the off chance. Staff were very friendly and were able to accommodate us. My husband had the scallops starter and would highly recommend. I had the pate which was very nice. The prawn Thai curry was very nice. Would recommend but advise you book

I'm staying at the Premier Inn, decided to take a walk out and stumbled across a Wetherspoons. This wouldn't be my normal choice, but I made the best choice. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful plus the food was great a meal, side and a pint for under £20.

My husband and I went for a pub meal, I had fish and chips, my husband had a burger and chips. He enjoyed his meal, but mine wasn’t up to the usual standard. My piece of fish was very small ( the pub knocked 10% off the bill) and the chips were very dry. Maybe been cooked earlier and reheated. I did mention my disappointment to the waitress who passed comments on to the kitchen. The staff were friendly though.

We had a very nice lunch here in April whilst on holiday. I had a great cauliflower soup and my partner enjoyed sausages. This is a nice old pub with a good atmosphere and very friendly, pleasant management. Recommended if you're in this part of the country.

Came today 20/4/25, Easter Sunday, on the menu stated cavery till 6pm, no carvery they had closed it a lot earlier, fine need to choose something else, picked pizza to be told they don’t serve pizza on a Sunday that’s a Monday- Saturday thing, fine choose another meal, ordered food, ate food only to then walk past another table who arrived after us, to eating pizza, when asked “oh the waitress that put it through didn’t know” but surly your kitchen staff are aware it’s not done on a Sunday? Highly disappointed

This used to be a regular eating place for many Christchurch diners, but quality and service had gone way down hill during last summer and we just stopped going.... ...But thanks to the enthusiastic efforts of Lucy (Maitre' d) and her staff (some in training),...

Lovely setting but that was about it for the positives. The service was patchy and with so few things on the menu, you would have thought that the serving staff would be able to answer simple questions instead of saying. 'I don't know I haven't tried that'! The food was very poor, three of us ate there and not one of us had a satisfying meal. Soggy batter on the fish and chips, overcooked shrimps served only with a small portion of ridiculously spicy rice and no vegetables in sight and the vegan fish and chips was totally tasteless (we didn't end up paying for this meal). The chips were good though but not a meal. Much more thought needed to be given about presenting balanced meals, taking pride in ensuring that each item on a very limited menu was cooked properly and taste tested. It seems as if this restaurant is relying on location rather than serving good food and that really is a shame.
