First visit after this lovely pub has reopened, first impressions are good, nice ambience & decor, definite improvement after reopening, that’s the positive, £8 for a pint plus half for a 4.5% local Ale!! That’s a huge increase! Suffice to say that was the only one & no intention of returning to pay that! Step across the road & the same percentage equally nice Ale is £4.75 a pint! In this day & age every penny counts & £5:30 a pint makes this one if not the most expensive pub in town. I’ve given 2 for the decor as it’s really nice inside but sadly won’t be retuning with those prices!

Used to go here a lot years ago but boy, has it gone downhill - food-wise that is. OK, so they are friendly but you want more than that when you stop by for something to eat. All they had was pizza, sandwiches and PIES. Not great, so had to find something elsewhere. It used to be great for food but now - not so much.

I was about to order an evening meal only to be told to leave because I was acqusded of using a vape. The truth was that I was not and the Landlady then hurled abuse at me! A very unwelcome place to be. There are many other pubs and restaurants in Marlborough to go that are much more welcoming. Visit this pub at your peril.

I was charged £29.49 for 4 drinks. A pint of lager, a small white wine and lemonade, a house gin and tonic and a house vodka and Diet Coke. I was expecting £20/22 max and people I’ve spoken to agree. I incredulously queried the price 3 times with the barman, to be told “it’s not us, it’s the brewery who have put the prices up because of the Mop Fair” The ambience of the pub was dire to say the least, the same barman seemed to be having a spat with a colleague, it was embarrassing. Won’t be visiting again.

I went into The Wellington arms last night with some friends. When we walked in there was a band performing and we stayed for the whole evening to enjoy the music. What a wonderful time we had. Everyone was singing and dancing the night away (something we have all missed during the various lockdowns). We will definitely be going back soon to enjoy the live music!

After an unfortunate experience at Polly's - where the pie contained enough salt to treat the roads around Marlborough - I was relieved to find that the Wellington dished up a very tasty pie. I don't mean the change about how the Pub looks now. I have to say that since the night I was invited with friends for the launch opening, I noticed how pretty and well decorated is The Wellington arms. The change I meant, was to do with general customer service and cleanliness. The first time we went there for the invite. The place looked very nice, very clean, the atmosphere was booming, the service was exceptional. I went back a few times since, with either my husband, work colleagues and friends. On every single visit recently, it was pretty consistent but I mean consistently "Bad". We felt ignored every single time. We weren't welcomed like we were at the launch. The Pub doesn't look that sharp and clean as before. The staff were a bit scruffy (Dressed) and so the manager (Leading by example). The menu isn't something you can eat every day (Only pies). They always run out of Ales.My friend just told me that Waitrose sell the Wellington arms pies for only £2.50 each?? Where it will cost you at least £6 for a plain pie at the Pub. I don't really know if I willgo back and give them again another chance, it's just that I like the way the Pub looks now (Specially the garden). Find out for yourself and let me know through TA. I might take your advice. In general "Very very disappointed"

Have been in town for business and as such have spent the week frequenting the various establishments along the high street, and this little pub stood out for me by far. I understand they have had a recent refurbishment and have experienced a few initial teething problems which is to be expected surely from any new business?Whilst it is evident that some of the staff are new and still obviously learning the ropes, my interactions with them throughout the week have been extremely positive, they were friendly, welcoming and extremely enthusiastic and knowledgable about their products, they remembered my drinks preference from my first visit and and enquired about my stay in Marlborough, showing genuine interest in me as a customer. What's more, the pub offers free wifi, and has plenty of plug sockets including USB ports which was handy for me to sit and work through emails away from my hotel room. It has a small but cosy outside space and has really fresh and relaxed feel about it. I tried a couple of their pies ( chicken of Aragon & The Moo and wasn't disappointed. I also had one of their Mr Hot sausage rolls with mash. They were great. And reasonably priced for a quick bite to eat after a long days work.If I am back in Marlborough I will definitely visit again to see how they are progressing as I'm sure once they find their feet they will continue to make this pub a great place to visit.

Eagerly awaited reopening of a Marlborough favourite.....and refurbishment has been done well albeit music a little intrusive and lighting not quite right. But the disaster is the removal of the kitchen - so only reheated pies available with side orders at exorbitant prices for quality/quantity. What the owners have failed to grasp is regular guests don't want the same menu day in day out, so sad. And service was ok if a little chaotic, more problems with the supply chain as some wines ran out and were off the list for several days and on Sunday half the pies were also sold out.

I'll keep this short. Love the concept and want it to succeed. Positives - the two members of staff; the use of space; and the beer garden. Negatives - the useless, and really rather rude 'Managers', who seemingly have no personal or communication skills; lack of ales... oh... and lack of pies. Will give it another go... we'll see how that goes. P.s. Walked down to Waitrose and bought the pies. They had almost every variety. #embarrassing

This used to be an old favourite under the previous owner so I visited on Sunday evening to see what it was like now. I was the only person in there apart from two bar staff and a guy who was apparently the manager however he didn't have a customer service bone in his body. He was marching around in an urgent manner, barking orders and rudely interrupting a conversation between myself and the bar staff. Forget all the tinsel, bright lights and colours of themed and chained pubs, this pub just ticks all the right boxes. I visited here with a friend who remembered a good Sunday lunch at this place. Our mid week evening meal was excellent, the menu is not too extensive but there are specials to be chosen too. A smaller menu is reassuring in such an establishment and I was rewarded with a good chicken pie and a traditional English spotted dick. The pub is simple in layout both for decoration and tables, it seems popular and filled up as the evening went along, but didn't get too full. The juke box played in the background old Pink Floyd music which is refreshing too. Not too loud, not too distant. If you want a good pub with good food then I can recommend this place. The friendly staff finished it all off perfectly. It has a feel to it that the management know how not to spoil a venue and good luck to them, it hits the mark perfectly for a town pub where you can just drink or have food.

Popped into the Wellington for a quick lunch attracted by the sign outside for a 2 course OAP special for £6.95. Walked through the door to be greeted by a blazing fire and two friendly guys behind the bar. We had fish and chips and ham, egg and chips and, although pensioner specials, were generous servings of piping hot food with lovely thick cut crispy chips. The included dessert was rhubarb crumble with a choice of custard, ice-cream or cream. Again a very generous portion of crumble, piping hot and was really delicious. We will definitely call in there again.

This is a nice little local pub with polished wooden floors and a very good value bar menu. Young friendly staff and all the customers were shall we say Mature in years so the blaring modern music was for their benefit not ours. Worth a visit if you are in town.

We stopped here for lunch on a day trip to Marlborough one Sunday; we didn't fancy the roast dinner options (although they looked lovely) so we opted for scampi & chips and sausage & mash. Service was friendly and prompt. The portions were huge!!!!! Typical pub fayre rather than restaurant, however we would certainly recommend and wold eat here again. Nice overall relaxed ambience in the pub.

We moved to Marlborough a month ago and have had a lunch time drink here and then ate here last night. Really good whitebait starter followed by fish & scampi and chips. Staff friendly. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Happy to return anytime.

The Old Mill hotel was where we chose to hold our wedding reception earlier this month. The whole event went very smoothly thanks to Lisa, Tobias and the rest of their team who went above and beyond to help us pull off the event. Because of them we were able to hold an intimate but amazing party for my family and friends that we will all remember this for years to come. The setting was magical, the food was amazing and the service was so friendly, accommodating and unbeatable. Thank you so much for all your help at the Old Mill Hotel. The hotel will always hold a special place in our memories and we can’t wait to be back
