Well, I'm so glad I suggested we try this fabulous place. Wow, wow, wow! Michael the landlord. What a really nice guy. The welcome we received was just so warm. He is also a very accomplished Chef. The Menu is one that you simply have to try. Food to die for. The Pub has such a great ambience and atmosphere. We had such an enjoyable evening. We left feeling that we have made a new friend. Michael has added a fabulous tipee at the back of the pub. It's huge and has been decked out with antique furniture and collectibles. It would make such an amazing venue for weddings and any kind of party or indeed a corporate event. Well done Michael. We will be back very soon. Ali, Deano, Cheryl and Glyn

I came here late on a Friday with a bunch of (around 30) colleagues from a circus production company. The place only had 1 member of staff serving as they had sent the others home because it was quiet (prior to our arrival). Have to say that the guys serving us dealt with the sudden influx of theatre folk brilliantly. Everyone had an excellent few hours here and the cocktails were ace.

We dropped in to break up what turned out to be the first part of an horrendous journey from our home in Wiltshire to Kent. We received a very warm welcome from the lovely lady at the bar. The kitchen opened a bit early to cook us some very welcome and good food. Would definitely recommend and will return in happier circumstances!

We came at 11:45 and they'd already run out of cheese scones. Went to sit outside and every table was covered in dirty dishes and left over food. There is a sign that says do not feed the birds but the tea shop is actively feeding them as the swans are helping themselves from the tables which could endanger their health. I had to clear and wipe my own table and after I'd used some of the milk I discovered the inside of the jug was dirty

This was our first visit to this old world charming pub where there is a wide selection of traditional pub food on offer with three courses for a very reasonable price. Or there is an al la carte menu which is a tad more expensive. Our total bill came to juist over £80 for three people including a bottle of excellent Chilean Sauvignon Blanc and coffees. The food was great without being fancy and was not hidden under some unidentifiable gravy or add ons. The pub was busy and the staff most welcoming and attentive. The pub closes after the lunch session which we did not know and we lingered over our coffee but the lady in charge said this was not a problem which we appreciated as we had travelled a distance. This was a most enjoyable experience and we will be returning again in the future to enjoy first class service food and hospitality.

My husband and I popped in for a quick late lunch as The Craven NEVER disappoints and again today, it didn’t! The staff and the food are just so friendly and amazing food. We both fancied the steak and ale pie and the waitress was so sweet and said that there may be a little wait as the chef was just making some more pies but WOW, we didn’t actually have to wait too long and it was worth every minute! The quality of the pie, the huge chunky chips and the perfectly cooked veg was the icing on the cake, or the gravy on the steak!! Their prices are reasonable and so worth every bite and the whole experience. I have been to this pub since I was a little girl playing in the garden with my parents watching, we’ve taken our children to do the same and now enjoy it with them as grown up children. The current owners are so personal to us whenever we visit and we look forward to so many more visits, with a big gang or just the two of us! Well worth a visit, you will love it! Varied menu, friendly, cosy and something for everyone!

Lovely sunny garden with plenty of seating and shade. Excellent varied menu from which I chose the smoked salmon and then a ribeye steak. My partner had pigeon and then monk fish all of which arrived piping hot and was very tasty - we cleared our plates! Definitely would recommend this pub both for a drink and for food. The garden is lovely, they are dog friendly and the interior has had a stylish makeover which makes sitting inside a pleasure

We popped in last Sunday for their soft opening. Had drinks during the day, were we spoke to staff and new management Adel throughout the day, who were all so friendly and lovely. We stayed for dinner later that evening, the service was great and the steak was incredible along with the special sauce!! The portions were also huge!

Lovely tea rooms by the canal. Sandwiches, panini, cakes, icecream all delicious. It's tiny but has upstairs space too. Outside tables and chairs in the garden area very popular with families and dog walkers. Overall very nice. The toilet seat and the bin in the one communal loo look like a health hazard and need replacing however.

As an older women who comes to cafes often, this cafe is okay in touches. I come here about 3 times over the past 2 months. Once with my granddaughter and the other two with one of my friends. Both said it wasn’t the best. First time was okay, would not recommend their Full English. I don’t know but the texture of everything was odd, sausage seemed cheap and their egg was cooked lazy. But the next two times I tried their ham, egg and chips meal. That was much butter, plate filled but the chips come pale and undercooked. Had to ask for it to be replaced or cooked more, no issue though seemed as if they had an off day. The times I’ve gone there is always poor management. There once was a man who works there, young, who acts out and makes the visit quite unpleasant. There was arguing so me and my granddaughter left. The next time, I believe the bosses, older man and women seemed very lazy. Always outside and only came in if there was a new costumer. I get it’s good to have a break but the other works (the young man from earlier and maybe 16 year old girl) had to do loads. I was there for about 3 hours during lunch period and I didn’t see them take an understandable break. Maybe 10-15 minutes or so to eat lunch. I’m not to make judgements but I think the younger two must’ve been working all day. On the other hand, they are all polite to costumers it’s just not a very positive atmosphere to be around, I think the two bosses should be kinder. But again, I’ve only been there 3 times. Meals good, cheap. Wish they did an actual cappuccino and stop lying, when it’s just a milky coffee.
