Fantastic wedding venue! Staff are very welcoming and the food absolutely amazing. The venue itself is really stunning with a nice outdoor area along the canal.

Happiest of Days. We are delighted to post a review of our Daughters wedding at the Old Mill last Friday. A day of torrential thunderstorms. Whilst we were not involved in any of the planning we had visited the venue a year before and were excited as to what they were offering. The day was perfect in every way. The drama of the thunderstorm ending only minutes before the first gusts arrived did not spoil the day. The decorations by Wed Shed were beautiful added to by our daughters own artistic creations. We were hosted by Esther, calm and efficient throughout. The catering company and Pizza Oven were professional and organised. We could not have wished for a more memorable day. The venue is sublime, all our guests loved it. If the Mill maintain this standard the future looks rosy for one and all. Reliving the day is such a Joy.

Beautiful, peaceful place.. all the staff are professional and courteous. The owners are the nicest people! Thank you for accommodating us on Friday. Have already recommended this location, great value for the money.

If only I could give 100 stars, our wedding day wouldn’t have gone the way it did if it wasn’t for the amazing team at this venue MY dream venue purely again because of how they was with me since the day me and my now husband booked they made sure it was everything I dreamt of. Huge shoutout to Lauren, someone who I will forever hold close to my heart, Lauren went above and beyond on our special day and I can not thank her enough! Edd the Dj who also works along side the old mill, INCREDIBLE MAN! Even now 3 weeks after our wedding everyone says just how amazing he was! Evie for all our table decor and added extras also what a women she is! Extremely lucky to have found you all! I would recommend this venue over and over! The bar staff 10/10! My husband and I got married in June 2024 and it was the most perfect day. The Old Mill is beyond stunning and all of our guests were amazed at how beautiful the grounds and venue was. We initially found the Old Mill around a year before and immediately knew it was going to be our wedding venue. From the beginning of the wedding planning to the day, the staff at the Old Mill were incredible - every single need was met, every single question was answered in the run up and the event staff on the day made the whole process run so smoothly. The photo opportunities were brilliant and every where you looked was beautiful. We had the most amazing day and couldn’t be more grateful to the team at the Old Mill for making our wedding feel so special. As soon as we pulled up for our first viewing of the Old Mill as our wedding venue we knew this is it. And we couldn’t have picked any better. The setting, building and surroundings make for a perfect wedding day in a rustic most charming environment. This paired with the amazing staff led us to having the most magical wedding day. From planning, answering all our questions through out, proactively supporting us with all the details to the smooth running of our wedding day it has been nothing short of perfect!

Our wedding was beyond anything we dreamed of, a perfect day from beginning to end. Lauren is a miracle worker: we genuinely had no idea sometimes how she made things happen for us, she shocked us! From the first venue visit, we were blown away and the warm vibe of both the flowing water and Lauren’s hosting made it a no-brainer. Then we made things difficult for the team by asking to accommodate a ton of personal touches which Lauren, Chris, Tilly and the team were thrilled to help with. What they kept saying was: we really want this day to be your special vision. And we really felt that they cared about us, authentically. It’s astounding considering how many weddings they pull off every single year. And it really makes such a difference, making the whole planning process a joy where you feel cared for and pampered, not just on the day. Bonuses: their easy online system for wedding planning and payments (so you don’t need to rely on email chains). Their amazing catering options (Gentleman Smoker is a must if you love meats, we were overflowing with steaks and burgers). Lauren (did I mention her already?) who is a gem of a human, a jack of all trades, and an invaluable asset to the venue.

We got married in May and it was one of the best days of our lives. When we set our eyes on the Old Mill, it was a cold, bright February day. No leaves on the trees and the flowers haven’t bloomed yet. But it still took our breath away. I remember thinking, “If it looked this lovely in February, imagine what it would like in May.” And it was the best decision we ever made. The Old Mill has a lawn area, the perfect spot for our marquee. The Mill Room and bar area are spacious and full of possibilities. But it was the Conservatory that really sealed the deal for us. Having gone a recent refurb, the area is even more gorgeous than before! The team at the Old Mill were so supportive and always helpful when we had questions! Lauren has charm and we were so glad to have her be there to guide us through the day. The Old Mill has connections with their own recommended vendors, which made the process of planning a wedding that much easier. Our guests had a fabulous time and raved about how beautiful the venue was. We honestly couldn’t have done this without everyone at The Old Mill. Had the pleasure of attending a wedding at this venue over the weekend just gone (early June 2024) and it was beautiful! A gorgeous, intimate venue with a lot of individual charm and beauty, with all of us taken care of by the stunning, attentive venue team. I was unable to get everyone's name but the team working with Daniel, Patrick, Jess and Jem/Gem (apologies for the spelling) were all superstars. Would definitely recommend for any events that would benefit from a picturesque setting and a lovely team!

A dream wedding come true! When we first viewed the old mill we instantly knew it was where we wanted to get married. It's so beautiful and the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. From the day we walked into the Old Mill we instantly fell in love with the venue,We were really lucky to have beautiful weather which meant the kids could really enjoy the grounds, the guests also loved the patio area for welcome drinks.The venue has been recently renovated and really brings the outside in! Lauren was absolutely incredible and made sure everything was perfect for our special day, we could not have done it without her!

I photographed a wedding at this stunning venue in February. I arrived early to set up and to meet the team. They welcomed me and spent the time to show me around, discuss the timings and more. Throughout the day I observed the team working super hard to make the wedding day as flawless as possible and I could see that every single team member enjoyed doing their jobs. The team at The Old Mill hosted our charity, Prior's Court Foundation for our 1st ever Carols for Complex Autism concert in December 2023 and the team there, especially Chris, were fantastic. They went above and beyond to help us bring our event vision to life, both in the planning stages and on the night itself. Decorations from the Wed Shed made the space look enchanting, and took it to a whole new level! We would highly recommend The Old Mill as an incredible venue with a friendly, professional and quality feel - thank you so much!

My partner and I got married at the old mill in October, and we could not have been happier with the way things went, all the staff were lovely and accommodating and so friendly! the venue was gorgeous and it was such a beautiful setting, being able to have our official photos taken in a private setting by the river was wonderful! we had kids at our wedding so set the conservatory up as a 'play room' with toys, and a couple of tables for those who wanted a break from the disco, leaving the main room looking beautiful for our wedding breakfast. Everyone had a blast and beauty of the venue is something that comes up the most! We cannot thank the team enough and if you are looking for a wedding venue make sure you book a visit here as it doesn't disappoint!

We got married at the Old Mill in June and it was the most perfect day. The Mill had just had a refurb and we had the ceremony out on the patio followed by a drinks reception. It was a beautiful setting and when the fairy lights came on as the sun went down, it was so romantic. The venue has so many picturesque spots, great for photos either down by the river or along the tree line. The Wed Shed, run by Evie at the Mill decorated the venue to perfection and having them linked to the Mill made everything so much easier. Chris ensured the running of the day went so smoothly and everything went off without a hitch. All the staff are so friendly and accommodating and they were always on hand if we needed anything or to answer our emails as the big day got closer. It really was the best day of our life and we could not have picked a better venue.

Such a fantastic venue! From the moment we first visited The Old Mill to the date of our wedding the entire team were amazingly helpful. Chris, Lauren and the team made sure our day went without a hitch, despite the weather! ;) Nothing was too much trouble and no ask could not be accommodated! Such a beautiful venue with such lovely staff! We were so well looked after from the moment we had our first show around to even after our special day! The venue is stunning and did a lot of the work for us but the team at The Old Mill made the whole experience for us! They were so accommodating and welcoming from the beginning, even our guests commented on how friendly the staff were! I would highly recommend this venue and can't speak highly enough of the staff, Lauren & Chris specifically! We wish we could do it all again! We held our Wedding at The Old Mill, and we cannot imagine a venue which could have fit our wedding any better, The Venue is Beautiful and perfect. We were lucky enough to have booked our wedding for just when the outdoor patio was refurbished, and we held our ceremony out there. What a wedding venue! This is by far one of my local favourites. The Old Mill is set in such a peaceful location and with it's exclusive use each wedding feels completely nestled away. There are so many beautiful settings surrounded by nature, it is a photographer's dream! I also couldn't rate the staff more highly, they are so friendly and approachable and really looked after me.

Went to a work colleagues wedding reception. Beautiful setting, drinks reasonably priced only downside was the toilets being upstairs, difficult for people with mobility problems.

We got married here at the start of June this year, and it was incredible. The site is beautiful with so much plant life and running water. It is truly a stunning setting. The owners and staff were absolutely wonderful. Every one of them was helpful and made the day special for us. But none more so than Chris, who helped manage the day, and always put a smile on our face. They are dog friendly, so our little mini-sasuage dog was able to be our ring barer 🥰 this was super important for us, and most places which said they were dog friendly we visited only let dogs in their outside space, where as we could have him inside the stable room for the ceremony. The in-house DJ (I've forgotten his name 🙈) was brilliant. Can't say that we, or anyone else who we have spoken to, has had such a great wedding DJ! We went with Fosters Catering, one of the Old Mills recommended suppliers, and I would recommend them wholeheartedly as well. We had just less than 70 people in the day, and another 30ish in the evening, and it felt like a good number for the space that they have available. Over 100 people, and I think you would struggle with this venue. The venue doesn't provide accommodation, which made planning a little harder, but there were enough hotel rooms within a 5 minute drive/taxi that this wasn't a problem for us. Overall, we had the best day of our lives and I cannot sing their praises enough!

However (all future ideas of returning for other celebrations have now stopped due to lack of trust)... Something to be aware of; after we paid our deposit and payments were agreed, they did try and sneak in an additional payment without telling us, it was very clearly not included before (I know this because I checked specifically). When I did mention this, they agreed to leave the payment on this occassion and we respectfully stuck to our promises in order to ease their minds that it was the right decision. Fast-forward to a few weeks after our wedding and I am told that they will not be giving us our £250 deposit due to an agreement made with the catering company on the day of the wedding, which my husband and I had no idea of (this should not have been done by either side as I had already put in writing that the kitchen should not be used). The catering company are saying that the venue isn't being truthful and in addition, the venue offered up space for ease, and the venue is saying that the catering company were using things they shouldn't have used. In all honesty, I feel like I'm trying to manage a disagreement between children, and whilst all of this is going on, it is our money being withheld because of an agreement made without our consent. This was raised and the owners had said that because they waivered the additonal charge (that they had added in after agreed prices) and the £85 cake cutting fee (not asked to do, but was done as a goodwill gesture) that this was the fairest conclusion they could come to. Now, after spending around 6k or more, (nevermind the money they took in on the day,) I believe this is just greedy!£250 is a lot of money to us and whatever it is that has happened has nothing to do with us. Please be wary of "good will gestures" as this may bite you in the butt after! A shame to end our experience in this way.

We were the wedding DJs at The Old Mill this weekend. The location in the countryside is wonderful and the facilities are all beautiful. We were completely blown away by the professionalism and thoughtfulness we received from all staff. Chris and his team were brilliant and ensured the day ran so smoothly - nothing was too much trouble. We loved playing here and look forward to coming back soon!

Wedding arrangements all went well

We were looking to renew our wedding vows here but sadly they clearly didn't want to offer us anything.We arranged a viewing via their website and then when we arrived they were unaware we were meant to be coming?Luckily somebody else showed us around the venue.We were then told they would send over all the info for us and we never heard back.Very disappointed.

Great "event" location. Sadly, I was at a funeral, but the location, food and service were excellent. We'll worth considering, if you have an important event to organise, and you want a memorable location.

We got married at the Old Mill last weekend and it could not have been a more perfect day. If the weather is nice this venue works perfectly for an outdoorsy day, we had lawn games and the band played outside which was just wonderful, but we always had the back up options of multiple indoor spaces if it had been raining. The grounds are just beautiful and so well maintained, all our guests commented on how lovely it was. The venue are extremely flexible which is exactly what we were looking for as we wanted to use our own caterers and mix of suppliers to make the whole wedding very catered to us. Evie and the team are also there to help with planning as much as you need and have a big range of hire items from the Wed Shed. Chris and Lauren were simply fabulous on the day, they were there as much as we needed them and I can't thank them enough for helping make our dream wedding run so smoothly. The Old Mill will forever have a place in our hearts, it was the best day of our lives.

Wow this place is just stunning, views are lovely, it's really private venue. Food was amazing and staff were really friendly. We attended a friend's wedding and I would highly recommend, it really was well maintain and beautiful.

Absolutely beautiful place and amazing typical mill streams/river and medows. Very welcoming staff. The only downside is they don't serve food! But easily overlooked because of it's beauty.

Lovely venue friends wedding reception there

Visited as a venu for funeral reception. This was indoor as the temperature was cold outside. Has plenty of space and reasonable car parking though more spaces would be better. Walking from car park could be difficult for women with heals as car park is pebbles which ruin the heals. Food was middle of the road, rather boring and forgettable. The gluten free vegeterian option was terrible and inedible. Do not book if this is a requirement. Hence 3 stars. Coffee was weak and luke warm. Bar was as expected. Staff were ok, but young and did not have the experience to run services smoothly. Ok if you dont want too much out of the place for hosting an indoor event. Probably better in the summer when the location near a river with lawns makes this more attractive for large-scale gatherings.

Love the authentic charm of The Old Mill

Held our 10 year wedding anniversary party here Friday evening. Staff were very helpful, very easy to work with unlike some other venues used in past. Nothing was too much effort for them. Surrounding was beautiful, space was beautiful, had bouncy castle & tiki lamps in field, great DJ set in the conservatory & catering in main hall. Wonderful venue, never even got into wedding chapel!

An amazing vintage place to get married

My daughter and partner got married here. The venue was superb. It was November and fortunately, it didn't rain or snow although it was cold outside. I found the staff were very nice and helpful. The surroundings are beautiful and the interior is well laid out for a wedding. The bar is in a separate room. The food was delicious. I can't praise the place highly enough.

I have always loved this venue for its beautiful setting and available rooms for a wedding and was excited to be attending last Saturday . Unfortunately the weather was horrendous with very heavy rain all afternoon and evening which of course is out of everyone's control . The ceremony was held in the Stable room which is lovely and intimate for a small wedding , however the registrars were late ( I am presuming due to weather conditions or other commitments ) . This meant that the bridegroom had not been interviewed for legal purposes before the bride arrived . There appeared to be very little support from the owner who suggested the bride sit in the car for twenty minutes , we decided she should wait in the conservatory instead ! . Inside the conservatory there were leaks so the bridal party had to avoid getting their attire wet in there too . The service was beautiful and registrar excellent . Unfortunately we could barely hear the music as the CD player was too low , some of the guests questioned whether any music had been played following the ceremony ! The reception was held in the conservatory which was cold throughout the proceedings , many complained about the poor heating . We had to help ourselves to the welcome drinks of gin and tonics , the father of the bride opening all f the tonic bottles , as there was only one member of bar staff at the bar which was in another room , this was apparently due to there only being 30 of us for the wedding breakfast ! During the evening the bar staff were excellent and helpful despite frequent power failures apparently due to the heavy rain . We did not feel it was safe to use the toilets located upstairs due to the area being lit by candlelight so the majority used the disabled facilities downstairs . We had a wonderful day as we made it so. There was no evidence of the wedding coordinator or master of ceremonies , I'm not sure if this was an optional extra. I have had lots of feedback since and the main complaint is about the low temperature when all guests sat in their warmest clothing throughout the wedding breakfast . This is a beautiful setting but in our opinion it requires upgrading and currently is not suitable for a winter wedding .

Nice place, good service and ambiance

Amazing place to get married from the lovely setting to the excellent food and friendly efficient staff. Nicky (wedding co-ordinator) was very helpful with all the arrangements and could not be faulted with her attention. Food first class and very good value for money.

Beautiful venue in fantastic gardens

Recently attended here for a wedding which in itself was very nice. Lovely location, nice grounds and lots of character. However, the staff were disappointing. They were unhelpful, looked bored, moped around like they didn’t want to be there and were pretty much useless. So disappointing.

Beautiful place. Absolutely stunning. From what I know, as I was a guest at a wedding, they were very helpful and the place was such a beautiful place for a wedding. Stunning.

Nice venue bar could do with few more draught beers and cider options
