This was our first visit to this old world charming pub where there is a wide selection of traditional pub food on offer with three courses for a very reasonable price. Or there is an al la carte menu which is a tad more expensive. Our total bill came to juist over £80 for three people including a bottle of excellent Chilean Sauvignon Blanc and coffees. The food was great without being fancy and was not hidden under some unidentifiable gravy or add ons. The pub was busy and the staff most welcoming and attentive. The pub closes after the lunch session which we did not know and we lingered over our coffee but the lady in charge said this was not a problem which we appreciated as we had travelled a distance. This was a most enjoyable experience and we will be returning again in the future to enjoy first class service food and hospitality.

We enjoyed an excellent evening out at this gem of a pub. The service was great, as was the food and drink, which were very good value. The choice of food is exceptional...unfortunately the quantities for starters and mains meant that we didn't have room for the very tempting desserts! We will definitely go back and would recommend The Four Points without hesitation.

The location gives the visitor the relaxing, out in the country feel when visiting for food, drink or both. The menu has plenty of choice. The food can be eaten in the cosy restaurant or when the weather suits, eaten in the pub garden to the side of the restaurant. The food portions would easily appeal to the most hungry visitor. The weekend roast dinners, are a great way to bring the family out to enjoy good home cooked food. There is a bar to order your favorite tipple from, or order at the same time as your meal. All this in a beautiful thatched restaurant, served by friendly and helpful staff. .......

What a really lovely place to visit for Sunday Lunch. They were almost fully booked for the Sunday that we wanted to visit as a party of seven but with some juggling around they were able to accommodate us. The pub is lovely, the staff are great, the food is really good quality and tests fresh and local with very generous helpings and a wide selection of options for starters, mains and desserts with a good selection of Gluten Free and Vegetarian options. We found the set menu Sunday Lunch options to be good value for money.

We went in today for lunch and it will definitely be the last time ever. So basically we decided to order the two course lunch meal my brother ordered the gammon and we decided to order the soup aswell as we had my 21 month baby so we decided he could eat the soup and my brother will eat what is left as he doesn't eat alot. The manager basically sent the waitress over to say my 21 month son had to order the adult soup because he is a different person to my brother!!!! So she was basically saying that he could not have the soup as a set menu as that is for my brother only! Like what the hell! She then agreed that they could share the soup but it's only coming out as a starter so therefore she was basically saying If my son is sharing the soup he can eat alone! I am not sure if this woman had a bad day or stressful Christmas but this is no way to treat customers. I was having a meal for £14.95 so we were spending over £30 so I am not sure why she is being so funny over some soup. She was trying to force us to buy a children's meal for £8.00 but my son can not eat that for lunch and this menu is up to 12 years. We took my son out the baby chair which upset him. 2 other customers came up to us and said they understood from our point of view and didn't understand why the manager was being funny about some soup. They said we should not be forced to pay for a kids meal or adult soup for a young toddler. In the end the experience was a Godsend as we had the most amazing meal at the Hare and the Hounds and they could not have been more lovely. They gave my son a kids pack and made us feel so welcome! My son got his soup and they were happy to make him a kids size at a reduced price thank god not every pub is just greedy! Happy ending in the end!

The food was very well prepared. I had mackerel to start with which was very tasty. The fish pie was excellent, enhanced by the cheese crust on top. I finished with bread and butter pudding and custard. The portions are very generous, so I did not need anything more to eat that day. The ambience is cosy and relaxed. Service was friendly, but I appreciated a gap between courses. The weather was dreary, but there is outside seating across the road for the summer. Ample car parking.

We walked from Blewbury to Aldworth and ordinarily we would pop in and had a sandwich and a pint at The Bell but we’ve done that several times before and wanted something different. We hadn’t booked as we had assumed that people would be recovering from the festivities of December... what a mistake to make!Luckily they fitted the 3 of us (and the dog) in before the 2pm table reservation. The food selection is incredible which made it very difficult to chose - but we managed - eventually! The usual classics - burgers, lasagne, sausage and mash but a few fabulous surprises like “steak and kidney pudding”. I’m doing veggie January so I’ll have to go back to try that. The food was excellent and unfortunately for us, the portion size was too good meaning we couldn’t squeeze in a dessert.. that caused a lot of dismay!! The prices are very good value and we will definitely be coming back!!

We had a lovely meal and have now been a few times. I think the service depends on how many staff are there, as we have had a fantastic service and then an okay service. Not that there was anything to complain about and we had not pre-booked, so unless you prebook and they know how many people are going, it’s harder to know how many staff are required for a country pub. Definitely go again.

The value is tremendous and booking is advised given how popular this pub is. Worth a visit if you're in the area.

Just home from a lovely evening out with the family. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, there was a good variety of meals on the menu and the staff were lovely. The portions were generous and what I would describe as tasty pub food. Everybody enjoyed their meal and squeezed in a pudding. I ate a pasta dish from the specials board which contained roast chicken and pesto, it was delicious. Overall the experience was enjoyable and very good value.

We've been visiting the Four Points for many years and the food has always been lovely. It's a nice simple menu but exactly what you want in "pub grub". When I go out to eat I live by the motto of "don't choose anything I could easily make at home", however when I visit the Four Points, I always go for ham, egg and chips as the ham they have is amazing! It's very popular, especially on weekends, so make sure you call ahead to book a table.

If you are going to the Four Points take an appetite. After my starter of White Bait, finishing my main course of venison haunch was a struggle. Sadly I there was no way I could manage a pudding. So if you like lots of hearty food at a sensible price then you will not be disappointed

We had not booked so we knew we had to get there early.in luck one table free! It is a very quaint pub and vey popular . There are outside tables when the weather is warm enough . We had the chicken Sunday roast. Very good indeed and vegetables cooked just right ( not soggy ) the portions are very generous and the house wine was very nice

Locals pub....I really want to like this pub but the menus were greasy and dirty, food average, service average. Small details make all the difference!Sorry

An good coaching inn this with friendly staff and a good atmosphere. At this time of the year you would be hard pressed to find a prettier exterior to a pub as the building is covered in a mass of flowers. The food here is "home cooked" and of a erasable standard at a reasonable price. If you are a pensioner then lunchtime pensioner deals are offered which I am sure must be great value for money.Situated in the heart of the country it is a great place to visit. Across the road from the pub there is a large car parking area.

Landlord Ian and his team keep a clean, tidy, welcoming pub that delivers on all fronts. The beers are kept well and there is a selection of wines for all tastes. The food is wholesome, tasty and served piping hot. Service is great. Definitely worth a detour if in the area for lunch or dinner.

Very disappointed after hearing good things. The food was not fresh and most of it seemed to be out of the freezer. An example being the garlic bread which was like supermarket garlic bread slices caked in cheese. 3 out of 8 of us didn't eat our meals. It makes you wonder how bangers and mash and many basics can be so badly cook. The service left a lot to be desired and the inside could do with a freshening up.

There are a few things on the menu that are flagged as "homemade". Take this as a warning! It means "badly made", at least for the homemade fish pie which was pieces of fish in a white sauce that was so thick and gluey it was closer to wallpaper paste. By contrast the ?factory made? steak and kidney pudding was excellent.

We've eaten here several times before and never been disappointed. It's a lovely pub with friendly staff and good service. Good pub grub and good value for money. Has a small outside eating area if you're lucky enough to enjoy good weather on your visit. Definitely worth a visit.

We came here for a family meal for 14 of us.It's not our first visit as we live quite local and have never had a bad meal here.Today was no different. The service was brilliant as always, the food beautifully cooked and considering there was 14 of us all served together.Only thing I would change would be the beers on tap.The Cotswold beer isn't to everyone's taste, and my head didn't like it the next day :-)All in all a lovely place and a fab meal.

A proper country pub. It has an extensive menu of pub grub with an emphasis on good value and hearty portions rather than fine dining. Very friendly - including dogs - and a well loved establishment.

Very friendly helpful local staff, no translation problems. Food was great just like a real country pub should be, none of the pretentiousness of other pubs who have become restaurants. Or who are trying to.Good food at good prices served by good people. I will be going back and I don't say that often. Message to pub. Don't change.

Thank you to Donna and the team behind the scenes for a warm welcome and great breakfasts all round. 30 breakfasts served with ease, all on the beautiful banks of the Thames, overlooking the field of horses, and Mapledurham house.🏃🏃♀️🏃♂️

Well, I'm so glad I suggested we try this fabulous place. Wow, wow, wow! Michael the landlord. What a really nice guy. The welcome we received was just so warm. He is also a very accomplished Chef. The Menu is one that you simply have to try. Food to die for. The Pub has such a great ambience and atmosphere. We had such an enjoyable evening. We left feeling that we have made a new friend. Michael has added a fabulous tipee at the back of the pub. It's huge and has been decked out with antique furniture and collectibles. It would make such an amazing venue for weddings and any kind of party or indeed a corporate event. Well done Michael. We will be back very soon. Ali, Deano, Cheryl and Glyn

Lovely sunny garden with plenty of seating and shade. Excellent varied menu from which I chose the smoked salmon and then a ribeye steak. My partner had pigeon and then monk fish all of which arrived piping hot and was very tasty - we cleared our plates! Definitely would recommend this pub both for a drink and for food. The garden is lovely, they are dog friendly and the interior has had a stylish makeover which makes sitting inside a pleasure
