The pub has had a refurb during lockdown and Donna has worked hard on improving and expanding the menu. I've eaten here twice this week and it has been excellent both times. There are spacious eating areas both inside the pub and outside (and no smoking in the outside garden eating as that is reserved for another area). On Thursday evening I had prawns with garlic and my partner had prawns with lime and chilli - both fab. We went with my son for Sunday lunch today and there was chicken, gammon and beef on offer as a Sunday roast which you could mix if you wanted to. Between us we had the full range and it was superb with a great selection of vegetables including cauliflower cheese. We all cleared our plates. Absolutely delicious. Then a good selection of desserts. This is a great choice if you want a day by the river and great food with a nice atmosphere.

A small village cafe for locals and visitors. Friendly service team and offers fresh home made food daily. Lovely homemade cakes as well. (my favourite is the ginger cake)

I was delighted with the lunch Alex & his staff prepared for myself & a family friend of more than forty years. The selection of dishes available to suit most tastes The ingredients, the presentation of the food was a work of art. The flavour of the crab bouillabaisse was instantly exhilarating. The turbot delicately dressed in a tasty broth, enhanced by mussels, capers & shallots was delicious. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience we were very well looked after!

What a find! This little cafe on the A25 next door to a 'poodle parlour' was absolutely delightful. Free parking. Inexpensive prices and enormous portions together with a friendly personable owner, made it a special place to visit. Also there is a lovely deli where you can buy things - and they have a take-away service. We will be back!

Great food, fabulous view....and incredible value. Lovely to see the students learning about hospitality. Highly recommend.

Food was very tasty and decent portions but starting to get a bit expensive in my opinion so will push customers away over time. Ordered on New Year’s Eve so food took a couple of hours to be delivered but was informed 40 to 60 minutes initially. Please don’t price yourself out of business.

A favourite of ours - Pie & A Pint at The Kentish Rifleman for £14.50. You have a choice of 8 pies catering for all tastes. Served with fresh vegetables, skinny or chunky fries or new potatoes and a jug of piping hot gravy. You can add some cauliflower cheese as an extra. You can choose to have a pint of local beer including a lager, or a 175ml glass of a red or white wine or a non-alcoholic drink. You can then add a Pie & Pint & Pud Special as an extra. We chose Beef Chilli Pie and it was delicious. You really cannot beat the quality of food and service for the price. Pie & A Pint is on Tuesday nights and I recommend booking as this is very popular.

I came here with friends for lunch and on the menu was a Caesar salad.. it didn’t have the option to add chicken on the menu, despite me asking about what it is. So £9 for lettuce, croutons and a bit of cheese.. so I returned it and was told to pay an extra £2 for chicken?! For a small ‘family’ cafe this is awful and when I said that £9 for that was unfair.. the staff member responded with.. ‘Well you obviously don’t know how much it costs to run a buisness’ which I found frankly unprofessional and RUDE! I responded saying ‘you don’t know what I do for work, but this is not okay to charge that’ And she responded ‘Well I would pay that so it’s tough’ Honestly how unprofessional. I’ve been coming here ages.

We had a drive to find a nice countryside pub, so found the Kings Arms and stopped off. Had a couple of pints, missus on the coke as she was driving. I had the lamb shank roast, missus had the chicken salad. Both were spot on in taste and presentation. Veg was fresh and the lamb just fell off the bone. Staff were pleasant and helpful. We will certainly be back.

Came here for the Sunday carvery. The food itself was great. Fast turnover of food and large portions. You need to be a very patient person though due to the admin levels - a 20 minute queue to get through the door due to the process of checking booking details, confirming any allergies, allocating a table, and preordering drinks.
