Stopped by for a Sunday lunch on my way home. The only space available was in the garden so worth booking ahead! Turns out Sundays are carvery days... not normally my thing but I really enjoyed mine. Tried two meats and both were excellent. The trimmings etc were all very good with special mention for the cauliflower cheese! A very good lunch!

Lovely pub lovely staff and the best food ever

Lovely food at lunch time today. Delish home made lasagne. Not oily and perfectly cooked. Even the chips were super ! Delish lemon meringue pie for pudding with cream. Will deffo go again. Great service. Thank uou xx

My partner and I had the Carvery and I'm a pestasarian so don't eat meat but everything else. Very nice food, all lovely and hot a variety of vegetables etc and the waitresses were very attentive, all clean and we had a very pleasant lunch.

Visited many times for lunch/dinner and have never had a bad experience. Really hearty, home-cooked style meals. Great lasagna, pies, Sunday roast, burgers and always a good selection of delicious specials. Fairly large garden with some covered seating. A children's play area. Dog friendly. Staff are friendly and well organized. You must pre-book for Sunday carvery. It's done in sittings, so expect to wait before it's your turn to go up (no queue jumping!). There's normally one or two ales on tap, but not always the freshest.

Sunday carvery is Absolutely delicious.. we got told told to try this pub/restaurant and have never looked back .. staff and landlady are exceptionally friendy and nothing is never to much trouble..

Plenty of parking right by the pub. The staff were friendly and very helpful wrt specials. We all enjoyed our selections of mains, desserts and drinks and the coffee was great. Prices average. The pub has great decor and is lovely and clean.

Warm friendly welcome when we arrived for Christmas day lunch .We were shown to our table which was decorated with lovely light up wooden christmas trees sparkles and crackers , such effort had been made to create that christmas magic . Lunch was so good , we enjoyed every course .Service was excellent .We had a lovely time and will be booking for next year . Thank you and Merry Christmas to all at the North Pole 🎄

We’ve just spent 2 wonderful hours being treated to the most delicious and amazing Christmas meal, with excellent service and a lovely Christmas atmosphere. The whole experience was well worth the price and we have NO complaints. More so, ready to book for next year

We went with family for a Christmas Day lunch today and it was amazing! Decor and ambience was lovely, staff were happy, friendly and helpful. Nothing was any trouble. Service was excellent. Another great evening had at the North Pole . 48 of us had our Morgan Car Club Christmas meal there again . The Food was superb as usual and the service very quick and friendly. All credit goes to Zoe and her team for an excellent evening. Well done, we will certainly be coming back.

Popped in on the off chance yesterday, and was pleasantly surprised. From the minute we arrived, we were greeted at the door with a smile and great selection of drinks to choose from. After looking at the menu and specials board, we decided to eat, my wife is celiac so can be limited in most local pub due to kitchen size, however once again, faultless on there behalf, even down to the bread being generally good gluten free bread. The food was spectacular With lots of flavour and even options for gluten free sponge pudding and custard I had a 3 meet burger and triple cooked chips and it was all perfect. I can say from top to bottom- a great experience! Thanks to the Staff and all involved. It’s definitely worth a visit and a lovely walk through the woods from Kings Hill.

Good Sunday carvery with lovely desserts. Beer selection was a bit limited when we visited but they usually have more on tap. Staff were very busy but still took time for us and were super friendly.

Had a fantastic lunch , husband had ham egg and chips and I have one of the best lasagna I’ve eaten in a long time . We had pudding which was lovely very friendly and lovely atmosphere

Our first visit to this pub but definitely not our last! The food was fantastic and the service was brilliant. The staff couldn't do enough for us. The kids loved the play area and the locals round the bar were very friendly. What more could you want from a pub?!

What a find. A lovely pub with a bar area at the front and a restaurant in the rear. Service from when we arrived was polite and professional. We were shown to our table and asked for drink order straight away. As I have Crohns I had certain dietary restrictions but the staff were magnificent and very helpful. The young lady who worked the restaurant was absolutely wonderful. Helpful friendly and super efficient without being too familiar. Food excellent. Pil pil prawns delightful and sea bream fillet perfection. Can’t fault this place . Five stars

Stopped by for an impromptu late lunch / early dinner on a quiet Thursday afternoon. The food was AMAZING and service was great. Both ate off of the specials board - lamb shoulder and T-bone steak. The lamb shoulder was HUGE and delicious, partner says the T-bone was up there as one of the best steaks he’s ever had, seasoned and cooked to perfection. Gypsy tart for dessert was superb. Absolutely stunning food in a super friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Very good value for the quality of food and service! Thank you!

We had lunch here today as we're moving into the area and wanted to check it out. Absolutely loved it here, friendly atmosphere and lovely food. When we move in across the road we'll be returning quite regularly I expect 🤩

A friend and I visited for lunch to celebrate her new job. What a lovely warm welcome! The menu has something to suit everyone’s taste and our voices did not disappoint. I had the BLT which came out on lovely fresh white bread with coleslaw and proper chips. My friend chose the lasagne - huge homemade portion also served with a side salad, coleslaw and chips. We also indulged in a dessert each. Highly recommend this lovely pub and I will be returning with my family again soon. This could easily become my new favourite place to eat.

Nice location, parking is tight, you can be left outside struggling to park. We had carvery, it was nice and fresh, nice gravey veg, spuds however for the price you pay, they are very tight on the meat portions!! There is not alot of elbow room inside, very noisy and abit sweaty too. The garden is nice, they have done a massive amount of work out there to make it family friendly, well done on that!. The staff were all nice and friendly very helpful. Would go back probably, but would try to go when less busy.

We had a fantastic lunch in the restaurant celebrating mums 90th birthday with 20 family and friends. They set the tables up lovely and we decorated a little more. The service was excellent and so was the food. No complaints at all. The lady serving us was amazing. Thank you North Pole

A lovely warm welcome every time we visit. We had the T bone steak and the steak and red wine pie. The pie was fantastic as always, tender meat and gorgeous pastry. The T bone was perfectly cooked. A great evening!!!!!

This is our nearest pub and decided to go for dinner as we haven't been for a long time. We found the food was massively.... and I mean, massively over priced. The children's sausage and mash had no veg, the chips were really pale and undercooked and there was nothing special at all. If we had been paying £5 for a kids meal and around £12 for a main I wouldn't have minded so much. But at £7 for a kids main and between £17 and £20 per main, you would expect better. You can a get MUCH nicer meal in a nicer environment elsewhere around maidstone for the same price or less and something that feels a bit special. Not quite sure how they are holding on to the 4.5 stars. Really wish it was better, being our nearest local, but we won't be going back any time soon.

Went for a carvery very disappointed food cold and not home made.all microwave foid Sat on public bar doors open so food was cold. We didn't stay for pudding. Complained to no avail just ignored.avoid avoid Only one meal eaten other left. Seeing half full plates going back to the kitchen before we ate should have been a warning sign

Visited last week with family and friends, purely based on reviews, complimenting every aspect of The North Pole. Clearly reviews incorrect. The pub is date, desperate for a refurbishment. The toilets are filthy, hygiene zero. The food was a disgrace. I would strongly suggest restructuring staff, replacement of staff with competent talent. New furniture, fittings , certainly a new menu! Until positive changes are in place… unfortunately a massive No No!! Current reviews clearly manipulated and fake! Find out see for your self! Waste of time and money!

Food is disgusting. It's not homemade at all. Microwave food, be aware. Booked a table for my birthday. The menu is very little, but it's a pub. The Waiters are very confused about the menu or which beer is on draft. The husband ordered the pie of the day, which was steak and red wine gravy pie. 2 guests had the homemade lasagne. Lasagne was ready-made and warm up or better burnt in the microwave. The pie was burnt inside, and the meat was dry, with very poor quality of the food. So disappointed, it meant to be a special occasion and this place was recommended. Never again, sorry to say. Needs a lot of improvement.

Had a lovely lunch in the North Pole today. I had the Wing of Skate and my husband had the pork fillet with lyonnaise potatoes. It was absolutely delicious. What a lovely couple who run the pub and a beautiful place to spend a gorgeous sunny afternoon.

I stopped here tonight for a quick drink been before after work so thought I would write a quick review on this little gem of a pub where you get a warm wellcome when you walk in to the bar area very nicely layer out for food very nice bar very well stocked by the looks of it I sat out the back in the very nice thought out beer garden with play area for children lots of seating under cover with padded seating too very well looked after looking at the food prices again very good and yes they do kids meals too I would say very much worth a visit if you find your self Wateringbury way stop at this fantastic pub over the Wateringbury cross roads towards larkfield comes up on your right hand side so thank you to the very nice young lady tonight at the bar you have a very nice pub also loos spotlessly clean 100/100 stars love mr cheeky in Kent Landrover guy

Large family for Sunday roast. A great feed, beautifully cooked food. Dessert menu with a great range of choices. The staff all very cheery and friendly. Had a lovely time and would certainly go back.

Nice pub with good food and friendly atmosphere

Lovely pub. Travelled out for a roast on Sunday and didn't disappoint. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Hadn't booked and was very busy but managed to accommodate us. Lovely roast with a selection of 3 meats and lots of different vegs and sauce options to help yourself too. Meat cuts were generous and cooked to perfection I opted for roast Beef and Turkey. I just had enough room for the home made bread and butter pudding with custard one of the numerous desserts on offer. After we finished sat and enjoyed the sunshine in the peaceful garden. Well worth a ride out from Essex thanks everybody we will definitely return sometime.

The staff were welcoming and attentive without being overwhelming. The food was plentiful and very well cooked. The desserts were beautiful and well presented. Not the cheapest meal, it was over £50 for 2 Sunday roasts with dessert, but the quality was worth the price. The only negatives were that we were seated in the larger room and the noise levels were high, but the smaller rooms are more quiet so we will request that next visit. Also the difficulty in parking due to the extremely small car park, and the initial meeting and greeting system where drinks are ordered as you check in, and that created a long queue outside of the building, which is uncomfortable in the cold weather and would have been unpleasant if the rain had not stopped. I would definitely recommend the North Star and go again myself.

Excellent food and the staff were very pleasant

Carvery not good, turkey, pork and beef cut from average size joints you'd get from a supermarket, beef had blood running out of it, the baked potatoes were so dry hard to cut into, there was no mash or new potatoes, no swede, Yorkshire puddings were soft spongy, honestly very bland overall, will not be returning.

Came here with the family, was seated quickly and was given time to decide on drinks. Once we had got drinks we could go up where the meat was carved fresh in front of us and was able to help ourselves to vegetables and an...

Very nice pies! Visited again and the pies continue to delight...though this time it was steak pudding!

Stumbled across this pub by accident and now if anybody says which pub should we go to this is the place I suggest! The food is amazing and the garden is huge with a play area for the children. All of the tables have there separate canopy's so you feel you have your privacy while eating. Amazing highly recommend!
