Nevill Bull in Tonbridge and Malling

The Sunday roast has always been fabulous at the Nevill Bull and today was no exception. It’s as good as home cooked one and we are all very fussy about our roasts. Perfect potatoes, perfect veggies just the right texture and taste, brilliant yorkies, beautiful rare beef, their world famous gravy! What’s more to ask for! Wine was also delish and puddings really delightful. Such a soft and gooey brownie, husband had the most delicious waffle and friend had fresh and exquisite ice cream. Thank you for a fabulous afternoon!

Had a lovely evening having a girly catch up dinner. Food was delicious, service friendly and very welcoming. Good menu selection. Highly recommend.

Had an early evening walk to the Bull a couple if great pints of Tonbridge ale. Give it a go, nice pub and friendly atmosphere.

Came here after being cold shouldered at The Angel…….. such friendly service at the bar gorgeous burgers mine was the Korean chicken burger and it’s soooo good! 😊 Tonbridge ales too what more could we have wanted 👌

The host Josh made us very welcome. The atmosphere was lovely and the food was delicious.

The staff were really apologetic about the very short wait we had for a table. Considering we just turned up on a Friday night shows you how good customer service was. Food was exceptional

We were in the area and decided to visit because some good previous reviews. Lovely local pub, but left disappointed (and hungry) Arrived just after 3pm to be told that kitchen is closed (even though advertised kitchen to be open until 4pm)

Nice place this.. had a full roast. Everything was really tasty, but room for improvement on the potatoes. Will return again thou.

Our first visit, despite living locally for years. What a treat it was - booked in for Sunday roast, and that’s exactly what we got. Perfectly cooked meats, great roasties, bowls of carrots, beans & cauliflower cheese. Topped with the most amazing gravy. Yum, and perfectly sized to allow room for their homemade desserts. All a hit - my biscoff cheesecake a particular hit. Kids all had children’s portions, and they were smaller - but not much smaller - a decent size for hungry boys. Service was great, never kept waiting, and had loads of room for is all plus dog.

If you arrive in a large group for lunch you will ONLY be able to order from the snack menu. Which consists of pulled pork fries, nachos, cheesy fries & tortilla with dips... So book in advance and get there before 2pm if you plan on eating a proper lunch.

Visited with friends at the weekend for Sunday lunch. They had the veggie roast which they all loved, I had turkey. Everything was delicious including the veg. Our friends said it was really good to be asked if they wanted a vegan or vegetarian option when ordering, which was much appreciated as often nowadays everything is vegan & vegetarians are not always considered! I'm currently awaiting an op, so I'm in a wheelchair. Staff were extremely helpful and couldn't have done more for us. Thank you!

I was walking past this pub today with a friend and decided to drop in for a Sunday roast. I was so impressed!! I’m vegetarian but not usually a big fan of a nut roast but it was so tasty. My friend had the roast beef. Everything about the meal was great. I will definitely be going again!

What a gem the Nevill Bull is. Tucked away in Birling at the foot of the North Downs.My girlfriend and I had invited a Dutch friend for an evening meal. She now wants to make it a regular event , so good was the food, staff and atmosphere here. There was however an unsavoury table who tried to embarrass the staff but their impeccable professionalism quelled the situation before it escalated. Disgusting treatment from the unprofessional staff! Not a family environment at all. The pub obviously only want particular customers which do not include children! Spend a lot of money to stop being served at 8:30 because you don’t fit in with their usual customer! Would never recommend this place and definitely not as a family! Rude unprofessional and average food. avoid!

Absolute disgusting treatment from the staff. We had a booking for 12 people including 7 children for a family meal before xmas, apparently a fake pot plant got knocked over so the staff stopped serving us at 8:30 and throw the plant across the bar area in a temper, we spent a lot of money there to be treated so disgusting. This is clearly not a family friendly place to take your children as you are treated so poorly. I would not recommend for a family or children or infact a group meal. Disgusting staff and treatment.

Great Sunday roast, I had the turkey and my friend had the homemade nut roast. Puddings were amazing, chocolate brownie and biscotti cheesecake. Already made a plan to go back.

Parked here to do the Birling Community Trail walk - highly recommend. The pub is very spacious and attractive inside but we sat outside in a nice covered area. Food was plentiful and nicely presented and piping hot. Price was £37 for two large mains, half a pint of local beer, coke and a pint of lime and soda. Barman was friendly and helpful. We will be returning.

We went to your pub by chance having heard of it but not visited, immediately entering we were greeted by a friendly face shown a table and ordered drinks and food,The food was fabulous we had chosen fish and chips so fresh with a side salad, and freshly made tatare Sauce the otheresl was caeser's salad again fresh and well presented.We Will definitely be returning to try the Sunday roast thanks great experience.

I visited with my partner for a meal out. I was looking forward to it as I read really good reviews. The place and staff are lovely, but the food was disappointing for the price you were paying. As a vegetarian, I opted for the Vegan Burger, which only consisted of the burger and some chips. Whilst my partner had a rack of ribs, chip, salad and slaw (completely filled the plate). However, I didn't realise till the bill came that my meal cost the exact same amount for half the amount of food (which also wasn't great quality). Also given that it wasn't meat, I would have expected it to be cheaper, but quite overpriced for what I got. Disappointed as it seems nice place.

We use The Nevill Bull regularly for A Sunday lunch and on special occasions.We can’t fault the food and the service.10 out of 10 from all of us.

Having lunched here midweek before, we thought we’d try Sunday lunch as the midweek lunch was so good. Unfortunately, that did not turn out to be the case. The menu choice was quite limited for choice in terms of a roast - Turkey, Beef or Gammon - Gammon? I choice turkey which was pretty good but the accompanying veg was not great. Cauliflower cheese was over cooked and the sauce on it was quite insipid. The roast potatoes were precooked and heated to serve and the remaining veg was very average. The Yorkshire pudding was good though. All in all, a bit of a disappointment tbh

Delicious food including fish and chips and roasts (advisable to book for Sunday lunch), excellent venue for buffet functions. Well-kept local beer and popular lines (ie, Madri and Inch's), friendly bar staff, easy-going vibe with diners and locals at the bar. The best it has been for many years; village pubs like this need supporting

Fantastic quiz, and as always , the food was outstanding.

Lovely tasteful not overdone rustic environment with bar and separate restaurant. Good variety of food on well explained menu . Service was quick friendly and efficient . The food was very tasty and well presented . The chunky chips were the best I’d had in a long time, piping hot, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Definitely worth a return visit.

Superb meal, really great quality food, a must visit. Decent pubs that produce to quality food and quality ale are not as common as they should be. The Nevile Bull stands above the crowd and really delivers with superb, no nonsense, pub food.

Excellent lunch with friends. Food was excellent the Fish & Chips and Baby Back Ribs highly recommended. Table in the bar where there is a good ambience and the bar staff and waitress (one and the same) very efficient and welcoming with an excellent sense of humour. Will be going back soon.

Great Korean chicken burger, tasty BBQ ribs, plenty of outdoor seating - covered and out in the sun - and friendly, helpful service. Looks nice inside too. There’s a big car park at the back for customers.
