Went to the Bell for first time in 30 years for an engagement party. Had a wonderful evening, buffet food was excellent and service from bar staff was friendly and very efficient. Only criticism was the gents needed a good clean up, wife said ladies was fine.

Nice Pub in all, parking, friendly staff, quiet location & good atmosphere. It was cold when we visited although the open fire was there. It was never lit, making the place a little on the chilly side. Come on, get that fire on the go. 👍🏻 The back room is fairly big & homes a pool table which is a nice touch.

The Bell is a lovely little country pub. I come here often with my husband and children. After reading the previous review I do not believe they are referring to the same pub. For a start the wonderful landlady doesn't drink. I would hate for people to be put off of my local which caters for people of all ages. The locals are lovely and most of the clientèle are older and certainly not teenagers turning it into a club. There are cctv cameras surrounding the entire premises and I've never felt uncomfortable with having my children there. They cater very well for the kids. I could not rate this typical English pub highly enough.

Lovely quiet pub, often visit here with my children as they have a nice garden for them to play in. The landlady is very accommodating and great with the customers, my kids love her as they always get a lolly or treat. The pub is trying hard in these difficult times and have been putting on events throughout the month, karaoke is definitely a favourite of mine. If you’re looking for a quiet drink, a cold one in the garden or a good laugh with friends I’d recommend.

Very surprised at the last review for The Bell Inn, I can only assume a disgruntled customer, I have been a local resident of Golden Green for over 10 years, the current management are local people who took the pub on to save closure and ensure the residents and passer by had a "proper" pub to congregate in, There are a lot of well run gastro pubs in the area that foodies can visit, the Bell is pitched as a local pub to drink and socialise in, a decent pint with good company, The pub does put on functions such as Karaoke and bands from time to time that of course help to keep the place open, Like any local pub use it or lose it, I for one would not want to see The Bell change.

What a treat to have this excellent pub close to home. The new (ish) management have made and continue to make a variety of improvements to the pub and garden areas. The interior has plenty of spaced seating is clean and nicely decorated, The exterior incorporates a fantastic open seating area which now boasts a "massive" 75 inch TV for the Euro's. The pub menu is currently limited (new chef & menu inbound) however the food quality and meticulous search for perfection is testament to all the had work being put in behind the scenes by Claire, Justin & Nigel. The bar staff are very attentive to your individual needs or requests and couldn't do enough to ensure you enjoy your time in this lovely traditional pub. Great food (check times & availability) a lovely welcoming atmosphere, various ales, beers, cocktails with the usual top shelf suspects, all neatly bundled up in a mobility friendly, accessible, honest hidden Kent gem. So if you're looking for a new local or just a change of scenery you could do a lot worse than popping in to The Bell for a few and then a few more. Say Andy sent you for free directions to the car park!

The food served is great value with great portions, well worth having a meal there if you have time. At peak times car parking is a little tricky, so try and be flexible when you visit.

Visited here tonight for a meal with the owners family. The staff were loving and friendly and very accommodating. The meal started with tomato soup which was straight out of a can, very disappointing. My daughter had garlic bread where the bread dough wasn't quite cooked. Main and pudding were very nice but I wouldn't recommend a pizza to anyone. The owner was very moody and stomped around the place. All in all was average but would consider going back

My brother and his family live around the corner and each time I get to see him, it’s increasingly a toss up as to whether I’m more excited about seeing them or getting to The Bell. The local crowd who come in are friendly and make you feel at home as soon as you walk in. Sam and Lee have done the place up so well since they took it over and it’s the center piece of the village. Its got the perfect blend of old country boozer, characters, a solid rotation of ales and the best juke box I’ve seen in a long while.

Pizzas are good too, along with the Pork pies & Sausage rolls, which are locally sourced. Eggs, including Duck eggs are available too, good size, tasty& the odd double yolker. Well done Lee & Sam, keep up the good work, GREAT PUB.

Lovely country pub overlooking countryside. Very friendly welcome from the staff and Tilly the dog. Two continuously rotated real ales on the bar with a wide range of other draft and bottled drinks. They offer a great pizza menu with the food made to order. Live bands in the evenings on a regular basis. Dogs more than welcome (they even have a dog biscuit jar). Nice beer garden to the rear and plenty of seating outside when the weather is nice. They cater for functions and have a function room. Large car park for customers. There are plenty of nic nacs and ornaments to look at. Landlord is very patriotic and supportive of the armed forces. Well worth a visit

Having booked the Friday off work, I was driving from work for a long weekend stay in the country. I just had one last errand to run. As I got out of my car to run my errand next to the pub, I said to my partner who was going to wait in the pub for me “have a white wine spritzer waiting for me when I’m out” - sitting in a friendly pub I thought would be a great way to start the weekend. As I was walking to my errand, with my partner finishing a phone call in the car, a gentleman who I now understand to be the pub’s landlord called over to me telling me to move my car, as it was private for the pub only. In what I considered to be a polite manner, I informed him that my partner was just going in while he waited for me, and I asked if this was therefore OK. In a rude and aggressive manner, the gentleman replied back to me “as long as you make sure he does”. I was shocked to be addressed in such a way, as I am not the sort of person who enjoys confrontation. I tried to make a joke out of the situation by saying “don’t worry, he’s as bad as a dog, if I can’t leave one of those in the car, I definitely couldn’t leave him in there.” (It was a very hot day). As I smiled and walked away, he called back in his original rude and aggressive way “yeah just move it”, when in a confused state I turned back and asked for clarification, I was informed I had been sarcastic, and we were not welcome. There were threats made about what would happen if I didn’t move.So to clarify, we had intended to be “genuine customers”. There was no “asking” what our intentions were. The manner I was treated with left me in tears and feeling threatened. There was no intent on my part to be “rude” as suggested below, and if I came across in this way, it was in direct response to feeling confused, shocked and even frightened. The only “sarcasm” intended if any, was in the tease that my partner can’t survive if left alone for short periods of time... With that being said had I not been with my partner I would have felt very intimidated. Once I had finished my errand, I started my weekend in a pub down the road, with a much larger white wine spritzer than originally intended, in tears over the experience. I’m glad at least my custom instead went to a much friendlier pub.

‘The Bell Inn - Always a warm welcome’ is written in big huge letters on the outside wall, however we received a slightly frosty welcome today... May be the owner was just having a bad day, or is quite possibly sick of people using his car park for anything other than, well, parking their cars. Arriving mid afternoon we were just getting out of the car, my partner going to find a friend on the residential estate that is co-located behind the pub, and me too busy on my phone to get out the car IMMEDIATELY as we stopped. This must have given the owner enough evidence to realise our intent was one far of having a nice cold drink, and therefore proclaimed that the car park was for paying customers only!!Slightly bewildered and thinking this to be a ‘classic landlord only protecting his property’ act, my partner sarcastically replied that we were going into the pub - the temperature in the car being so unbearable that it would be the safest thing to do, letting her partner have a cold one in the daycare centre for men... However we were then promptly warned to leave the area and park our car somewhere else...I’m now without beer, without refreshement, and without a warm welcome, and to make matters worse, the frosty reception we got didn’t even cool the car down...WARNING: use sarcastism with extreme caution when entering this place...and if possible leave your car at home!

A group of 15 of us booked in for 8:30pm on a Thursday evening, which is after the kitchen normally shuts. However, Jade, the manageress, was very agreeable to cater for us at that time, and the staff looked after us very well. Jade’s tasty food was scoffed by the hungry diners, and all seemed pleased with their evening. The Vegetable Curry was a great hit.

The Sunday roast has always been fabulous at the Nevill Bull and today was no exception. It’s as good as home cooked one and we are all very fussy about our roasts. Perfect potatoes, perfect veggies just the right texture and taste, brilliant yorkies, beautiful rare beef, their world famous gravy! What’s more to ask for! Wine was also delish and puddings really delightful. Such a soft and gooey brownie, husband had the most delicious waffle and friend had fresh and exquisite ice cream. Thank you for a fabulous afternoon!
