Very good menu for 2 course Sunday lunch. Although busy, we were served relatively quickly, very attentive staff and our complements go to Jade, who served us with a beautiful smile everytime! Thank you Jade for a memorable meal. We will return, actually already booked another table for November on our way out. Thank you for a delicious 😋 Sunday lunch to all the hard working staff 😀

A very nice pub, situated near the a30 as you enter Bagshot. I was there twice last week. The first night was fairly quiet, but it was warm enough to sit outside in the beer garden. The second time, there was a function going on, so quite a buzz. It was chilly, though, so no Al fresco experience this time. The beer choice was good, and the service was excellent. On the busy night, the lady serving (Louise, I think) was kind enough to acknowledge me instead of just ignoring me, as often happens. I am not in the area often, but glad I found this pub as it will be a good option if I am.

We ate at the rose and thistle last night, table of 13, everyone said how good the food was. The conservatory is decorated lovely for Christmas, and all the staff were friendly and very accommodating. We have booked to come back and would definitely recommend. Thank you

Very convenient for the M3. Very friendly, helpful staff, parking and a varied pub menu with home cooked classics. Decor and atmosphere a bit dated, and it is certainly not a gastro-pub (and probably proud of it!) but it is an honest, friendly place to meet up when travelling, and we will probably visit again.

I really like this pub, the menu is "proper" and the staff are really nice. Roast dinner wasn't great today (my friend had it), but the fish and chips were very nice and the desserts are great value and really yummy. Sticky toffee is lush...not sure if it's homemade but...very tasty. I just wish it was served in a bowl! Chips were delicious

Fantastic Sunday roast after a local walk in the autumn sun. Beef was a perfect medium-rare, huge yorkies, great veg. Potatoes could have been a little crispier, but were still nicely cooked. Extra gravy provided on request. Huge portion. Very friendly staff. Great choice of drinks. Make sure you book on a Sunday - it was packed. We sat in the bar area to eat, as were many others. Restaurant area also available.

We booked up to take my sister out for lunch here on Saturday 2 November at 13:00. The place always seem busy which is a good sign that many people enjoy eating/drinking here. I can only action our review on what we experienced and our whole visit was Very Good. We were greeted on arrival by Lisa who was actually our server as well throughout our visit. Lisa was very friendly and efficient. It was a good job she was as most tables in her area were taken. We had our drinks order taken very promptly and all three of us then had the traditional Toby Carvery. My wife and myself opted to upgrade which is just another £1:99 to do. The plate is obviously much bigger and you get two Yorkshires if you want and two sausages as well. Personally I just opted for a small Yorkshire but as all the meats looked so good I asked for a slice of each. The veg is self service and there are back up dishes full just behind the one in use. The Roast Potatoes were superb as were the Parsnips, Sprouts, Stuffing, Carrots and Peas. Once you have your plate ready you walk over to the Condiment/Gravy station area where they literally have everything you could want. The Traditional Toby Carvery Gravy is delicious. I thought I would only have the room to eat my plate full but my wife who only asked for Pork and Beef had so much Pork she gave me 50% of hers. I hate seeing waste so that so all I left was fat & skin. After chatting for a while and relaxing we actually found we had room for a dessert. I opted to have the excellent Honeycomb Dream Ice Cream. My sister had the Bramley Apple Pie with Custard. All the food was Very Good as are the prices. Not many places you can have a large house white 250ml for £6:05. If you have never been before it is certainly worth a visit. The pace was clean & tidy and was fairly full which I mentioned does show how popular it is with families etc. Car Parking is vast and if you are unable to park outside the front door area as we could not there are many parking spaces on the far side of the restaurant. Enjoy your visit as we did. Thank you to Lisa for being so efficient.

I really love this old pub, the atmosphere is great and for a beer it is perfect. However the food is a bit mediocre - filet steak and pork that is dry and over cooked, deserts that felt re-heated. Wine was great, but service on this day was average at best.
