Reasonable food but small portions and very expensive

Great Public Inn,great drinks,great prices & a friendly atmosphere,fantastic staff. Also very clean! - toilets are fab too.

I recently treated my uncle to a true British culinary experience. He never tried fish and chips before, so I took him to one of the Southamptons best chippy. I ordered large haddock and chips and he decided to get large cod and chips. Both of the fishes were delicious and very fresh. You can tell that the fish was not frozen because it did not had the weird aftertaste. I would say the haddock was better than the cod, but it all comes down to what you prefer in the end. Out of all the fish and chips I have ever eaten, this gets crowned for the biggest one. I genuinely had a hard time finishing mine and my uncle just couldn’t finish it. At around £14 per person, including drinks, the price was reasonable considering the quantity of the food. They also serve other chippy classics such as scampi, cod roe, fishcake and many more. Overall if you ever fancy a proper fish and chips then you should give this place a go.

Had the Margherita pizza which was good. Good service. No vegan options available :(

We held my daughter Erin and son in law Alans wedding reception here. What a great reception it was! Huge thanks to all the staff- what a crew!! They each were so helpful and friendly I couldn't thank them enough. I felt they went out of their way for us, but they insist it's what they do. Another delicious meal at B & K. Great atmosphere and excellent, friendly service from our lovely waitress, Kelis. We’ll definitely be back soon.

In what has become our true local things continue to get better Ben and his team are friendly and eager to please. New menu despite some small price increases is excellent. The Sunday Roasts are truly excellent both on quality and price two full roasts for £12.99. My friend and I love the friendly atmosphere and attentive staff who are always helpful Special mentions to Eva and Grace who provide excellent service to everyone. Food and staff were great, and friendly. The restaurant was clean but gets a bit busy at peak times so I squeezed into a corner but apart from that I’d recommend it to anyone passing.

I have been going to this chip shop since I was at college 10 years ago. The food is really tasty, you definitely get your moneys worth. Food is piping hot and the staff are brilliant, so friendly always up for a chat and make you feel so welcomed. I have a chip-shop not far from my house, however I always take that extra journey on the bus to come here as it is one of the best around Southampton. Keep up the great work.

Friendly, arrived on St Patick day, loud but still, lovely, food to die for, with out having to do the washing up, This is 2nd time here will defo come again.

Nice food, friendly staff and very clean. Menu extensive. Prices and portion sizes were very good. Not a very pretty location, but if you don’t want to eat in a chain restaurant or fast food this place is great.

very slow service over cooked mushrooms very poor quality. as for value for money extremely poor 1 sausage beans mushrooms 2 bacon 2 wafer thin black pudding overcooked 1 egg 2 hash browns. 1 toast/fried bread tea / coffee this cost £7.50 this establishment has gone downhill the best value for breakfast is 5 sons in Shirley 3 bacon 3 eggs 3 sausages 2 sausage squares 2 hash browns 2 black pudding 3 toast /fried bread beans tomatoes tea or coffee for just 2 pounds 50 pence more excellent value for money and cooked to perfection

Este café existe desde hace unos años, pero lo acabo de encontrar ya que nunca lo había visto publicitado.  Un gran descubrimiento, el personal muy amable y buen servicio. Menú variado y buena comida tanto para mirar como para comer. Un montón de obras de arte para mirar, libros para leer y mesas y sillas bien decoradas. Mi primera visita, pero se convertirá en una visita regular, muy feliz de encontrar un valor tan bueno a nivel local, tanto en términos de precio como medioambientales.
