Had not been out for a few months due to illness. Staff always make you so welcome and the breakfast is always great.

We visited almost all restaurants Several times. In general you will find great quality, well-selected offers and very friendly staff. We love especially the afternoon-tea in the Hall/ Promenade: Excellent tea selection (!!!), rather traditional food and presentation and unique atmosphere. Wine prices ok an in-line with the location. Not too many older vintages: only the famous lables. Rarities are overprized and not very 'enjoyable' as offered; not in-line with the market and competition. Great sprits, especially Whisky. On request you get some really rare and extraordinary stuff! Very crowded during Christmas season but worth to visit, especially for families. Despite kids are not among 'their preffered guests'. Very discrete, professional and friendly.

If you’re staying at the adjacent hotel this restaurant is a handy option, but after visiting one weekday evening I didn’t leave convinced it was worth travelling any further for. When I arrived none of the tables in the bar area seemed to be getting cleared or cleaned after use, despite it being very quiet, and the food menu itself was filthy and sticky. Ordering food and drinks at the bar was easy and the member of staff friendly enough, and the service time for the burger was decent. The portion size was alright for the price but presentation a little basic, with the cheese in the burger remaining unmelted. It was a bit annoying once served to have to trek to the other side of the restaurant to collect cutlery though - it would be better to be advised it’s self serve when ordering, or given I was the only diner present, for the staff to offer to collect instead. Taste was okay but certainly couldn’t be considered great value. There’s a decent enough range of drinks available at sensible prices and the large garden area is nice for sunny days. Perhaps I caught it on a bad day but everything else felt rather average though.

Have always in the past enjoyed some nice meals here, haven't been for a few months but went this evening and was very disappointed I had the fish & chips my wife had the hunters chicken. My fish and chips were quite horrendous the batter was like leather, needed to chew it to get through it and the fish was a thin sliver through it, the wife didn't really enjoy her dish the chicken was dry with low quality streaky bacon and Im not sure that the peas had even seen any hot water. We had a large coke and an Asanti lager , the drinks cost was £10 20....not sure what they were charging for each. We won't be back anytime soon

Have lived within 7 miles of this establishment. Never knew it existed. My friends mentioned it after having a few drinks up the road, in another place. Feeling hungry now we stopped by. Glad we did. Pretty busy when we pulled up. However space in large rear carpark. Delightful beer garden split in two. Kids play area etc. Had no booking. Served almost immediately by switched on mainly younger team at bar. Was politely advised tables that were free. Set up a tab and said I’ll bring your drinks over to you. Lovely. A young cheerful friendly waitress came over and took our order. Fairly varied menu. Something for all. Food was hot and tasty. No complaints at all! Very quick and attentive service by all. A lovely surprise these days. Thank you. We WILL be back
