Visited here this evening and was such a disappointment that we had to refuse to pay for food it was like processed meat the service was ok all old people or peoole crying at the table. I wouldn’t recommend unless you live on microwave meals then it would possibly be ok. Lots more choice locally and a much better service.

My wife and I chose to eat here with our two young children for our last meal in UK before heading home to France. We booked a table for 7.30pm hoping it would be a Beefeater meal as we once remembered. Unfortunately it wasn't even close. There were two younger guys sat at the bar enjoying a beer. There were only another two tables of two people eating who were all very elderly. Really no atmosphere at all. For almost everything we wanted to order we were told they didn't have it. When we finally ordered and the food was delivered to our table it was very disappointing as everything was obviously cooked from frozen! Our waitress also couldn't even manage a smile the entire time we were there. I would recommend another restaurant than here too anyone!

Very disappointing experience. Much of the menu was unavailable which should have been communicated to us before we arrived as the table had been booked and therefore a contact could have been made. We were informed that two or three menu choices were unavailable but it was not until we had sat down and ordered drinks that it became apparent that it was more than two or three items. In fact I should think that about half the choices were not available.Despite not being busy the waitress service could have been better. The food when it eventually arrived was cold, my son's steak was overcooked and cold, my gammon steak was cold in fact the only hot thing was the plate. Other meals were cold or luke-warm at most. Having waited so long for the meals we were disinclined to send them back and wait another hour for them to be re-cooked. If the chefs had not been either arguing with and laughing with the waitresses and spent more time concentrating on the meals they might have been better. As for the dessert menu, at least half was unavailable therefore some of us had to go without. Altogether a very disappointing "Birthday" experience for my daughter-in-law. We shall not be returning.

If you’re staying at the adjacent hotel this restaurant is a handy option, but after visiting one weekday evening I didn’t leave convinced it was worth travelling any further for. When I arrived none of the tables in the bar area seemed to be getting cleared or cleaned after use, despite it being very quiet, and the food menu itself was filthy and sticky. Ordering food and drinks at the bar was easy and the member of staff friendly enough, and the service time for the burger was decent. The portion size was alright for the price but presentation a little basic, with the cheese in the burger remaining unmelted. It was a bit annoying once served to have to trek to the other side of the restaurant to collect cutlery though - it would be better to be advised it’s self serve when ordering, or given I was the only diner present, for the staff to offer to collect instead. Taste was okay but certainly couldn’t be considered great value. There’s a decent enough range of drinks available at sensible prices and the large garden area is nice for sunny days. Perhaps I caught it on a bad day but everything else felt rather average though.

Popped in for a late lunch with the family between Xmas and New Year, terrific food if a little limited in range and particularly good value as we had a voucher for the whole group. Excellent service from Ellie, everything came quickly and the drinks refills came just before we thought of reordering them :)

Jackie was very nice and pleasing thanks to her our dinner felt all that bit more special we look forward for coming again soon and happy new year !

Breakfast took so long to arrive we had to leave and go without. Items that you help yourself ran out and were not replaced. Everyone was complaining, understandably This place is an embarrassment to Premier Inn where you nearly always get an excellent breakfast. Also our breakfast purchase was not communicated from Premier Inn causing delay and awkwardness.

The food was nice, the place was busy, and the poor server girl was here everywhere. was xmas holidays, so we had a bit of a wait,would still go back, it's nice.

Came here for Christmas Day meal. Had an alleged roast sirloin of beef dinner. Was looking forward to it until it arrived Two of the thinnest pieces of beef you can imagine, three half roast potatoes, and the rest was pretty much raw vegetables Considering this cost my wife £65 a head I certainly did not get any value for money To be honest I would recommend not bothering with this establishment

We have just had a very nice Christmas day dinner here, the food was hot and plenty of it. The staff were very friendly, especially Jackie. Who was very efficient, happy and polite. Thank you to the chefs and the staff, as we thoroughly enjoyed our meals.

What's happened? Visited today 22/12, half the menu was unavailable allegedly due to a gas leak at a distribution centre. What there was wasn't up to the usual high standard. Disappointing. Excellent food & drinks, happy friendly staff, comfortable seating, great atmosphere. Recommended.

It's ok could do with a good clean waitress was trying her best

Had a fairly basic breakfast, although there was a reasonable range of options. But they had “supply chain issues” so some things not available. In fact, the list of unavailable items for the main meal menu was so long we cancelled our lunchtime booking and went somewhere else. An A4 page full of dishes and individual items that they hadn’t got meant they missed out on our custom.

Our usual waitress Jackie was fabulous as usual. Always goes above and beyond to make our visits perfect. The new manager, ( tall guy with beard and foreign accent) however wasn't as inviting. His attitude is not good at all and nor are his customer service skills! The food was very disappointing too. We were told several items not available due to supplier issue, but decided to stay and order what was available. Ribs and chicken combo. I've had this often. The ribs were so small..about the third of the size they normally are and also the chicken was very dry and chewy. And only a few chips. A very disappointing meal and certainly not what we have come to expect from this restaurant at all. I am thinking of cancelling our Boxing day meal as worried it will be the same.

Special thanks to Jacky our waitress and Elly for being efficient and helpful this afternoon. My only gripe was that we had intended coming as a family with my daughter & 2grandsons. However when booking online and by telephone we were unable to book a table for 6 before 4.45.We ended up apologising to my daughter as they were not able to join us. Whilst in the restaurant it was quite apparent that there was plenty of room for a table of 6. I feel that the AI you use for bookings is not fit for purpose and ruined our day! Rosemarie Tarrant

Fantastic roast dinner. Huge!! We both orders the 3 meat roast and could not believe the size. Half a roast chicken each plus beef & lamb plus all the usual accompaniments. However it was not a case of quantity over quality. It was very well cooked with lovely rich gravy. Jackie was our server and she just made you feel at home instantly.

A lovely meal, and a special mention to our waitress Jackie who was really good at her job, bubbly and friendly as you'd expect but also highly observant asking if we wanted more drinks noticing we were low, and made a point of serving a child's pudding first on another table.

Jackie was a very good host, polite, efficient and bubbly. Food came out in a timely manner and was well organised. Only reason the food was 4 star is because it could have been a bit hotter. Had a lovely meal last night, after a very long week we needed a hassle free evening and that is exactly what we had. Chloe our waitress was absolutely perfect she was not to much but not to little she was just perfect. She did not make us rush when we couldn’t decide whether to have a pudding or not. Over all it was a lovely evening and we enjoyed every part of it. Thank you to all the mill house staff but a special thanks to Chloe.

Quality of food has gone down, and options reduced (new menu). I was going to order the rump steak and chips as I have many times before, only to be told it is no longer an option, I settled for the sirloin and chips. Ordered a rare, came out medium and the chips dark and oily, they apologised and replaced it only to come out much the same. I have been here many times over the years, but this was not good at all. The manager apologised again and took the meal of the bill.

I came here for lunch with my twin sister and nan, and the waitress’ service was amazing. Her name was Jackie and she was so friendly, talkative and smiley, ensuring we had everything we needed. She made our experience here so lovely and was such a great person to have serving us.

Food was nice. The reason for the poor review is purely based off the service provided. We entered the restaurant and stood waiting for 5 minutes before anyone turned up to greet us. We had to go looking for someone in the end. When the manager on duty finally appeared there was no apology or greeting, simply a question “have you booked?”. The restaurant was very quiet but non the less we had actually booked a table and said yes and what name it was booked under. The manager asked if we had any allergies and we said no and she took us to our seats. Before even sitting down she was asking what drinks we wanted and we placed an order despite feeling a bit rushed. We then had our waitress arrive who was an older lady. She didn’t introduce herself so I’m unsure of her name but she was friendly and enough and interacted with our baby. Halfway through our meal we noticed our waitress was packing up her personal items and it appeared she was getting ready to finish her shift. At that moment a new waitress entered the restaurant near where we were seated and was very loud talking about her personal life and how “tired” she was and how she “couldn’t be bothered to be there” and she was at work so often that she should just “live at the restaurant as she was always there”. Slightly inappropriate but we tried best to ignore her loud chats with the kitchen staff. We had then finished our meals and waited for what seemed like a long time before anyone approached us. When someone finally did we noted it was this new waitress. She approached and said “are you finished”. We said “yes thank you” and she took the plates and left. Didn’t introduced herself or ask how our meals were. We did however look at her badge and her name was Zoe L. We then waited a long time again before going up to the station to collect our own menus to view desserts. Eventually Zoe returned and said “do you want any desserts”. We did and we ordered. Again another long wait for desserts which then arrived and was placed on the table with no words spoken. I ordered a crumble with custard and the crumble itself looked fine but the custard was splatted on the side of the plate and dribbling up the side of the crumble pot with a spoon shoved in the middle so the handle was all covered in custard. Terrible presentation and clearly rushed. We then waited and waited and no one came to clear the plates so we eventually went up to a waiter who was wearing tracksuit bottoms (uniform standards??) and was on his phone texting and asked if we could pay. His name was Jack. He took payment but said nothing. We gathered our items and left. No one around to say goodbye. Not once asked how our food was (in this situation it all tasted lovely). The bar staff were quick at refilling our refillable drink. Customer service from waitresses and managers were just at a really poor level. No manners, no professionalism. Disappointing as it impacts your experience of dining out.

The staff are so rude! Me and my boyfriend just went in where they were EMPTY yet my boyfriend was abruptly told we can’t be seated without a booking as the waiter walked away. we then tried to book for right now and it said we couldn’t so I then asked who I assumed was the manager. Again like I said it was empty so I asked why we couldn’t sit in the restaurant and he was very rude and blunt because apparently the power had gone out which I wasn’t aware of because it didn’t state this anywhere and the lights were on🥴 He mansplained to me like I was a child in a very angry tone which I found very unprofessional. He then told me to read the sign at the host desk which I already had but wasn’t clear. It said something along the lines of ‘due to short staff we aren’t serving food at the bar or in the garden’ which I assumed meant because of the lack of staff, they were only serving restaurant food in the restaurant area, not ALL food??… in a restaurant? The manager patronised me into thinking I didn’t read the sign correctly when really it was just poorly worded with no context. I get things happen and staff may be stressed but it is not right to take this out on an unknowing customer who wants to pay money in your establishment! Like the waiter, the manager then walked away while I was still stood there without even giving an apology for the inconvenience
