Kemal at the Cambridge in Reigate and Banstead

Quite pricey although after having the taste of the dishes that explains, you are spoilt by a Michelin star Chefs menu! So succulent and tender cooked meat that rarely you can find at any other BBQ restaurants around Horley. Only thing missing from their tasty menu is that the Chef's special chili sauce or meze (homemade).? There is no other alternative chili dish at the menu either, like Ezme? it is a vegetarian medium hot meze to which goes well with BBQ dishes. We felt so lucky to be service by best quality Turkish BBQ Kebab restaurant. Thank you to Duke of Cambridge Hotel management for having a Turkish BBQ Kebab. Keep up the good quality service. As we staying at the Cambridge Hotel using the Park and Ride it made sense to try Kemal at the Cambridge. We were not disappointed, 2 of us enjoyed Turkish Style Kofte, Chicken Burger and a delicious bottle of Kleindal Chenin Blanc, perfectly chilled and served by our charming waiter, Jack. Total bill less than £45. The dining room is very well decorated, and has a great ambience. Definitely coming back again.

We decided to eat in the restuaraunt as we were staying here, we found the menu quite good, bit also expensive. The food was cooked well and the service was good, the beer was not great.

This was our third visit to the hotel and our third time eating here. The food was just as good as before. We ordered grilled halloumi and garlic bread to share followed by lamb shanks and mash. Obviously a bottle of Sauvignon blanc to start the holiday too! Staff were very attentive and friendly. Definitely worth eating here!

I have eaten here the three times I have stayed at this hotel and found the food tasty. After the 4 hour drive to get here I like to have a pre-booked dinner. You can order from a couple of set menus when you book your parking and have been happy with my choice each time. There is a more extensive menu (and more expensive) is you just visit when you get there. I was there alone last time - and there were only a couple of couples in there as I went in when it opened. Eating alone in a restaurant isn't the most fun I have had but the food was good.

Had dinner here as we were staying overnight at the hotel.Whilst the hotel was a huge let down the restaurant exceeded expectations.The menu was varied , the portions very generous and the food itself exceeded our expectations.The staff were very attentive and polite. Perhaps the hotel staff could take a leaf out of the their book on customer service!

The bar staff are friendly. There is a great choice on the menu. The food was excellent, and good value. The meze starter and the lamb and chicken kebabs were great. It was the perfect start to our holiday.

Staff in the restaurant were helpful, kind and showed an amazing level of high quality customer service. I must commend a young lady by the name of Zuzana who always went the extra mile to ensure my meal was ok and I had everything I need including drinks and options for dessert. She was kind and had a genuine charming happy attitude towards her work which made the whole meal experience even better. Definitely one of it not the stand out employee from my visit. Thank you Zuzana! Another gentleman waiter by the name of Hugo provided great insight on areas within the town to go after the meal, he even pointed places out on the map which was very helpful.

Having stayed at the hotel and eaten here last year we did not hesitate to have dinner here again! We decided to share a portion of pate which was just as well as the mains were huge portions. We both decided to have the lamb shank wrapped in bacon and in a pastry case along with vegetables....so filling! Very friendly staff serving also. Definitely would visit again if we returned to this hotel!

I booked a three course Christmas lunch for 35 people here last week. Everything was very good; lovely turkey, tender roast beef, good trout and tasty stuffed pepper. The plates and the food were nice and hot and the vegetables all fresh and perfectly cooked. The starters and desserts were also lovely and the service was excellent. The room was nice and warm and Christmassy. All in all a most pleasurable experience. Would certainly recommend, Many thanks to Ali and The chef and the waiters.

Ate here on the eve of our flight (also staying the night). A very pleasant experience. Staff gave just the right amount of attention. We had the fried cheese and the meze as starters, both of which would have sufficed as mains. This was followed by lamb kavurma and tagliatelle carbonara...again the portions were huge. The dishes were also flavoursome and thoroughly enjoyable. Very highly recommended

We ate here whilst staying over in another hotel before going to the airport the next day. The service was friendly and the food (if a little old fashioned) was good. I say old fashioned because the set menu offered things like prawn cocktail with cucumber garnishes. I had the sea bass with home made chips- it was delicious. The meals came out a little slowly and the desserts were not home made.

Food and drinks were good and at reasonable prices.staff were cheerful and service was quite swift all fine.

We checked into the hotel the night before an early flight from Gatwick. The receptionist will book you a table for dinner which I strongly recommend (opens at 6 pm). There is a great choice on the menu. The quality of the food is very good and the portions are huge. We had a relaxing meal and then took our drinks into the bar. All the staff are friendly and helpful. We booked in advance for breakfast which was also very good. A Full English with choice of cereal, tea/coffee.

I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant 's quality and price. Well balanced menu and helpful staff. No problems at all. I could not try the wine as I was alone but the list was attractive..

The Hotel rooms are very good, spacious, comfortable beds and at a very reasonable price. Right, thats the Rooms done, lets move onto the Resteraunt, Wow! We stayed here before our flight and to keep things simple we ate in. I had Mexican Steak and the Wife had Chicken and Bacon. Both were served with what I believe to be the best Resteraunt Chips I have ever had and the most amazing Gravy ever, the Steak was tender and the Chicken was moist, everything was hot and tastey. Next time we fly we are coming back.

Have stayed at this hotel many times for park and stay before a flight and we have eaten in the restaurant about five or six times now!

This is our fourth stay at the Cambridge Hotel. The staff are all lovely. Rooms clean and fresh and for the money, by far the best value airport hotel we have used. The staff are the reason that we come back. It is definitely the best way to start a holiday. We can leave the car and for £3 per person each way the airport transfers are cheap and efficient. The food in the restaurant is good and very well priced. We are currently sat in the bar for a relaxing drink before bed and an early start. Well done guys. I have worked in the retail side of customer service for over 20 years at management level and I am happy to keep coming back. Keep up the good work. Thank you.

The restaurant at the cambridge is a lovely setting but very cold with heating being turned off until it opens. Food is good but expensive. Poor selection of desserts . breakfast was a small set cooked breakfast without a choice.

We have stayed at the Cambridge a few times every time the service , room and food excellent . Our daughter had her wedding reception here 10 yrs ago. Highly recommend .

Six of us ate here as we were staying at the hotel. We all had the mezze starters which was wonderful. Then three of us had steak......cooked to our liking...medium rare! My husband has lamb shank in pastry, another plain lamb shank and another a pasta meal......all very enjoyable. We also had wine and everyone thought that the price of the meals was very reasonable!

We were incredibly surprised by the quality of the food and at a very reasonable price. Great service too

Having handed over our car keys to the hotel's airport car parking Kemal was our sole eating option. My wife...

Yo no sabía que el restaurante estaba separada del hotel y experiencias en el examen, tuvimos una comida maravillosa a un precio razonable de pescado bien cocinado y Filete de Carne con buen vino bien por el chef te lo justo.

We found that this hotel provided all that we expected. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The staff were welcoming and helpful, especially ,the breakfast staff.The breakfast was freshly cooked and tasty,and more than we could eat.We stayed for three nights,and we will be booking in again in early May.It,s an ideal place to stay before flying from .Gatwick,or perhaps as a base for visiting the surrounding towns ,or walking the Downs,The parking was adequate.and overall we were impressed with what the Hotel had to offer.

This hotel thinks it's something special but it food is average and pricy. Breakfast was a waste of money paid £3 for a bowl of stale cornflakes and a slice of toast nothing else on offer.

We have used the Kemal each time we have stayed at the hotel for breakfast and dinner and the food and service is first rate.

Just eaten here and loved every mouthful, staff very attentive and polite, the restaurant very roomy but still with a feel of intimate dining. Fresh flowers and a candle on every table left the air with the fragrance of lilies. Wonderful

Had one of the best fillet steaks ever! and good selection of wines to go with in a very relaxed atmosphere, waiting staff very polite and friendly.

Good menu solid well cooked food.Friendly staff and clean surroundings. Well priced drinks too. Recommend the fish or try the Turkish lamb dishes.

I thought that this restaurant was good value. My bill for a starter (Avocado Mediterranean), a main (Lamb Shank) and two glasses of 250ml of the house white wine was about £29. The starter was very good, as was the main, which was a very large portion, excellent value. They specialise in Turkish cuisine, including a number of lamb dishes. For much of my meal they were playing some good fiddle music which, when I asked, the waiter said that was Turkish. I said that I was enjoying it very much, but the next thing they played was reggae, which continued for the rest of the time that I was there. Maybe they put the Turkish music back on after I left. I'm just joking, of course!Waiting staff efficiency dropped later in my meal and no one came to my table for ages, so I gave up on the idea of a dessert (which I didn't need, I know) and a coffee.

A lovely restaurant the staff were all super friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and it wasn't a long wait. Reasonable price would recommend.

There was a good choice of dinner dishes, including Turkish and Italian . Service was attentive and prompt.. Breakfast was excellent value but I was not keen on the coffee or the quality of the orange juice.

we prepaid for the dinner which not surprisingly was quite basic (not much choice) but ok. The proprietor changed our room so that we would have more space, which was nice of him as we had not asked. The main problem was the lift from the airport- a minibus not a bus, with a very bad driver, quite scary actually

The food was served quickly, was cooked fresh and very tasty. Breakfast in the morning was just as good.

The restaurant is very nice, well set out, light and airy. The staff are very good, friendly (and handsome), attentive without being obtrusive. The menu is varied with a la carte and set meal options. The food is good and served up nice and hot. The only criticism is the cost of the drinks, we had two drinks, glass of wine and a spritzer, costing £9.95. It would have been cheaper to have a bottle of house wine which we will do next time.

The restaurant is spotlessly clean. There is a good menu on offer and the food is of good quality and served piping hot. The staff are polite and helpful. Again the morning breakfast is served here before 7am it's continental and after 7 you can also have a cooked breakfast

We stayed at the Cambridge for one night before flying out of Gatwick, We booked a set meal when we booked the hotel. The choice is limited, but the quality of the food is excellent, if a little pricey. The service was excellent. We booked the meal here as we did not know the area and weren't sure of what was available nearby. If we ever use the hotel again we would not book the meal as there are plenty of other options nearby.

We had a deal with overnight stay, set meal, car park and transfer to and from Gatwick. The staff were excellent although the set meal was very restricted, other items on the menu looked excellent and I wish I had gone with those. The restaurant was clean and well run and worth a second visit.

We paid £50 for a one course meal with a bottle of house wine. My wife's chilli and prawn dish arrived with four heads of broccoli and was certainly not expected to be served with that type of dish.My tournedos rossini however at £18.95 offered poor size and poor quality and was served with paste chips and one head of broccoli only. No mention was made when ordering that the "vegetables" described on the menu was just the one piece of broccoli!! Dessert menu appeared aimed at children with all sweet dishes and no cheese or savoury options.We have eaten here on a number of occasions and always recommended it to our friends when they stayed there however we shall not return on our next visit.

The service was friendly but the food didn't live up to expectations. Mezze for 2 was OK but the mains were substandard. Shish Kebab - the meat was tough. Chicken Caesar Salad had a nasty aftertaste and Spag Bol wasn't nice. Cooked breakfast wasn't very appetising either.

Basic food at exorbitant prices for what is not a nice experience. I wish we had gone to a local McDonald's

The menu looks great but the food was disappointing. My fish was swimming in a ver thin watery cheese sauce and my 'vegetables' were broccoli -steamed and chips???? Not even nice chips!

We stopped prior to flying and I was surprised that although the menu was limited we thought the quality and presentation of the food was good.

We had mezze to start which was huge and then shish for our main meal. Well cooked, well presented, excellent staff and service and a lovely restaurant which is now in an Orangery/Conservatory rather than the bar at the front - much better. Unfortunately we had no room for dessert.

Kemah is a very talented chef! Food is fantastic, definitely worthy of a visit a great family run and family friendly place, don't miss out

We have used this restaurant twice now prior to flying from Gatwick the food and service are excellent...best cheese cake we have ever tasted!

A good selection of dishes to suit all ages and appetites. A good way to start your holiday, service was excellent.

We ate at this restaurant on the evening of our stay at the Cambridge and this time the meal was poor. First course ok, main course dreadful steamed chicken topped with salty bacon one broccoli stem and six chips floating in watery something.

What can I say the meals we had were creative and really lovely and would highly recommend them to others visiting.( as this was situated in the hotel's main restaurant and had a bad experience with the accommodation side only, see other review).

We were staying at the Cambridge the night before we were due to fly to Florida. We decided to try the restaurant out & was we glad we did. The waiter was really friendly & when we asked about the food he was more than willing to talk us through the menu. He even advised which wine would fit which dish. He brought us a Jug of cold water without us even asking which the wife thought was a nice touch. The food was flavourful & brought out at just the right time. An all round nice little place to eat.

We had a wonderful lamb dish at the restaurant at the Cambridge - and a great breakfast too! Staff friendly and helpful.

My husband and I have eaten here four or five times now as we are local and the food the previous times has been good. We visited at the weekend for my mum's birthday treat but unfortunately our experience was completely different. Let me first add that 2 out of the 4 dinners ordered were fine (the steak and chicken), but the 2 lamb dishes were terrible, to the point we couldn't eat them. I had the lamb shank which normally just breaks away from the bone, this obviously needed cooking for much longer as this did not happen. The outside was tough and the inside was so fatty it put me off eating it. My mum had another lamb dish which was equally as tough. This was pretty suprising as the chef is Turkish and should be used to cooking lamb (by the way we have never ordered lamb before on previous visits!). The service started off good (apart from having to pour our own wine) and two waiters on separate occassions asked if we were enjoying our food, we said no to both and they just both walked off and said nothing! When the bill came they had charged us for the full amount, included the two bad dinners. When we suggested that due to us not eating the food we should get a discount, the head waiter just walked off and said nothing. We got refunded the price of one dinner only!Unfortunately it did spoilt our night some what and I'm afraid we won't be back!

Have stayed at the hotel many times and this was the second time we have eaten in the kemal. Not a lot of variety on the menu but between us we had the prawns in chilli and coriander sauce and chilli chicken, the prawns were very tasty and well cooked if not a bit basic on the presentation. The chicken however was bland ant tasteless and looked more like a Sunday lunch. Both served with what looked like gravy and one sprig of broccoli not what I would refer to as vegetables plural! Overpriced even with the convenience factor.

The staff were really attentive without being obtrusive and the meal was excellent. Wide choice of cuisine.

As this was a cheap hotel, I expected the food to be similar to that offered by the Travelodge/premier inn types. However, the small restaurant offered a good menu. We only had one course, as we needed to get our heads down for an early flight, but the exotic steak kulbasi (sirloin with oregano and mozzarella) and my wife's sea bass were perfect, and just over £30 for the two. I've eaten much worse for much more money.

Lovely meal to start off our holiday. The food was very fresh and plentiful. Didn't need to book a table and we're able to eat shortly after arrival. Good service too.

Excellent food well presented and cooked. Prices are very reasonable too for such quality. The restaurant has been moved to a smaller room near the bar and is much cosier than the large room before and also a lot warmer as it was February!

This is just about the worst meal we have ever had! Particularly in the context that it describes itself as a fine dining experience. We went there for our anniversary. When we arrived (in our best togs expecting something posh), there were wet paint signs everywhere for a start. Then we entered the actual restaurant to find a large flat screen TV showing You've Been Framed! And most guests in shorts and T-shirts. My husband and I are not snobs and not foodies; we just wanted to treat ourselves to something a bit special but this was more like a Happy Eater (without the nice pancakes!). The food ( we both had a pasta dish) was a beige congealed lump in a dish with no attempt even to disguise it with a sprig of parsley as garnish or a slice of garlic bread on the side! I can't believe they honestly think a flat screen TV has any place in a fine dining experience; ironically Hell's Kitchen came on after You've Been Framed! A terrible experience. But we didn't let it ruin our anniversary... We laughed it off.

All very clean and tidy could have done with better tea bags in the room because that's all we needed after a long flight

We stayed at the Cambridge the night before we flew from Gatwick. Our meal was very good, my wife had Carbonara and I had a chicken kebab. Both were very nice. Our waiter was friendly and efficient. I would definately recommend.

As mentioned in the title we had a fillet steak with some gravy but when we tasted it Yum Yum. I would still like to know his secret but I bet he will not... tell me ???

Recommended by a friend and we were not disappointed.Lovely food and great staff, would definately go back and have been telling friends to visit soon.

Stayed at the Cambridge on the way home from holiday first time we had an evening meal here the breakfasts are always excellent so would recommend you eat here, nicely cooked and well presented cooked meal.
