The best restaurants serving British food in Oxford South East

We recently hosted a private event at St Aldates Tavern in their Blue Room, and it was absolutely fantastic! From the very first enquiry to the night of the event, the staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and professional, making the whole process seamless and stress-free. The Blue Room itself was the perfect setting—spacious, comfortable, and with a great atmosphere. The food was absolutely delicious! A huge thank you to the entire team for going above and beyond to make our event special. If you're looking for a great venue with top-notch service and amazing food! We’ll definitely be back.

We had a lovely birthday meal and the staff were very attentive without being overbearing. Brillaint food and brilliant cocktails. Special thank you to the waiting staff Danny, Tiago, Grace and Rayya especially who dealt very well with indecisive ordering on our part. Will come again.

Visitó a la suegra que vive en Iffley. Nos llevó al Príncipe de Gales para el almuerzo. Qué excelente hallazgo. Todo recién hecho, muy bien presentado y extremadamente sabroso. Tenía el puré de salmón con zanahoria y frijol ancho con verduras en arroz frito y una salsa de soja pegajosa. Deliciosa. Prueba con POW. Hijo disfrutó de las patatas fritas POW (ligeramente picantes) con su Haddock.

Very quiet for a Friday night. The barman was pleasant enough. It’s just all a bit dull for me. You can’t really see the cartoons as the room is not particularly well lit. The cocktails were fine. We walked through the hotel to the other bar which was slightly better but at £9 for a glass of not cold enough Pinot Grigio in another badly lit room, we left feeling rather conned after they added a service charge as well. . For a large hotel the wine selection by glass is very limited.

We had a wonderful meal with family and my brother's dog was made very welcome.

Great pub. Good food. Great atmosphere… as long as you like sports. (TV’s and sound everywhere, no real quiet spots just to chat).

One of the best Sunday roasts I’ve ever had — highly recommended.

How lovely to have this wonderful veggie / vegan pub at the end of a long walk along the Thames. Delicious food and tasty beer on tap. Fast and friendly service and peaceful river views. Highly recommend the cauliflower steak with it's amazing caper sauce.

Great Fullers pub. ESB on tap. Evening open times. Went for Sunday evening drinks. Not many pubs open Sunday night in this area. Thank you for being open.

Siempre iba a ser arriesgado entrar aquí un domingo por la mañana ocupado, pero me había perdido el desayuno, así que pensé en probarlo. Me senté, me ordenaron y luego esperé. Después de unos minutos de mirar a mi alrededor me di cuenta de que había cometido un error. La comida estaba sentada muriendo bajo las luces, un barman ahogado en órdenes y vasos sucios (que estaba visiblemente abrumado, moviendo la cabeza y murmurando para sí mismo). Les di tiempo de sobra para verme levantarme, ponerme el abrigo y marcharme. El personal era todo niños, eran los ciegos guiando a los ciegos, desesperados.

Qué pequeño hallazgo increíble 😁 el personal es tan amable y acogedor. Había un grupo largish de nosotros y el personal no podría ser más servicial. Lo recomendaría a cualquier persona local o que visite por igual

La primera visita en más de 5 años y no volveremos la comida era horrible sobre el huevo cocido y el servicio de tocino era una vergüenza desastrosa usar para ser un pequeño gran café

Gran restaurante. El plato de salmón complementado con gambas, espárragos y brócoli fue imaginativo. Gracias Izabella por su atento servicio! Es la primera vez que nos alojamos en el hotel y probamos el restaurante.

Great, friendly and efficient service. Wonderful cheerful staff - especially Kat. Very clean surroundings. The peacocks are a bonus.
