Very nice pub with friendly staff. The food was very good. Fitted us in at very short notice. Only downside parking can be difficult. Would certainly go again if in the area.

I really suggest to go in this pub to try the traditional pie; they have a lot of delicious pie and good beer! The staff Is really kind, everything Is clean and the price are onesto! So, if you go to Oxford, you Need to try this pub!

Couldn’t fault it - made to feel welcome as soon as went up to the bar, was offered tasters of the beer and the food and service were excellent.

Very nice service. Booked for my work’s Christmas lunch and we were very well served. The variety on the menu e good and decent price.

Nice traditional village-style pub with iron stove fire. Lovely staff and environment. I had the chicken, ham leek pie which was good. The food presentation could be better, it was plopped on top of an excessive mound of mashed potatoes. Otherwise a nice lunch.

Had the wild mushroom pie with mash. It was wonderful!

Splendid old fashioned pub with great pies. The garden is beautiful and a must to visit in the summer. Been here many time and always happy to come back.

Always a warm welcome at this treasure of a pub. We're so lucky that we live in walking distance. Service is excellent, definitely worth booking if you want to eat. Food is always good and plenty of people visiting so there's always a nice atmosphere. Prices are what to expect in Oxford for a very well run pub. We like the pub garden in particular as we stop off during our dog walks.

Lovely rural pub, pleasant and helpful staff. Nice food and a gorgeous pub garden! It’s a shame they don’t have a car park as trying to find appropriate parking where you don’t have to risk a ticket was difficult but I would say it’s worth the trip and maybe a little walk depending on where you park.

Krásný zážitek v typickém anglickém pubu s krásnou, stromy stíněnou zahrádkou. Dal jsem si žebra a byl jsem maximálně spokojený. Manželka měla salát caesar, který nebyl top (opět potvrzení, že doma umíme lepší), ale snědla ho s chutí.

Kasey is the best barmaid in Oxford and hosted our family at White Hart with class! Highly recommend for those with discerning tastes.

Bar staff slow and quite oblivious to any sense of urgency. Ordered a Guinness and it wasn't left to rest: The basics are being overlooked here. Didn't eat and wouldn't eat since the initial reception gave me the impression I could be waiting a very long time.

5 we had a very good meal and a good evening join in the quiz staff were good and the food was 10/10 excellent from dave /trevor and serena well done DAN AND CAROL SEE YOU SOON DAVE FROM KINGS ARMS BUT LEFT NOW ..

A quaint pub right beside the hospital. Wonderful place to read a book or have a chat with friends. Highly recommend the outdoor garden, if it’s sunny.

Lovely place. It's difficult to understand from outside how spacious the pub is. There is a wonderful garden area at the back. Indoor and outdoor seating both available. One of the few pubs in the locality. And the locality is beautiful. It's on a beautiful stretch of road. I liked the ambience. Decent crowd. I tried their craft cider which was delicious. I haven't tried the food but my friend says the pies are yummy. So, definitely will try that next time.

I had the steak and stilton pie with mash and peas. The pie was okay the silton was Very overwhelming the mash wasn't the best at all the peas and gravy was nice. The service was okay until she asked how the food was and me and the group I was with told them about the food they didn't seem to happy with the comments as one of the party had chicken ham pie with chips and left half. The beer garden was lovely busy lots of tables.

Me and the misses had pie chips and peas, pie was very very tasty. Staff polite and friendly, a proper pub with proper good beer too.

Incredible garden, not only large but a real sun trap. Decent selection of beers on tap and great pies. Small inside if the weather isn’t so good and hard to park nearby as there’s a lot of permit only areas.

We had our engagement party at the White Hart at we couldn’t have asked for more. Dan was very helpful answering my questions whenever I rang and Lucy was so helpful on the night, she organised everything for me and was so accommodating, even letting me play my playlist through their speakers. The sharing platters they made for us were perfect & nothing was too much trouble. We couldn’t have asked for friendlier staff or a nicer atmosphere for our party.

Great Pies, marvellous beers, terrific service. We came as a group of 8 plus a baby and they immediately made room for us. The place is very busy but the drinks and food were served very quickly. As a man with great experience of pies (draw your own conclusions), this was probably one of the best I've ever had. I had the steak and stilton pie. We will definitely come back. Lovely garden too.

Lovely pub with friendly bar staff. If you’re going for drinks, you’ll have a great time. The food however was a rip off. The pub prides itself on serving ‘traditional pies’, but for £16 each we were presented with a reheated Pieminister pie (their menus exactly match! - you buy them in supermarkets), oven chips and peas. This feels dishonest.

THE BEST SUNDAY ROAST If you want an example of pure and the Best British Sunday Roast lunch look no further than this beautiful example of a great pub. Staff are wonderful, friendly and attentive. I wanted to Lick my plate !! But remember to book as the white hart is popular and busy . Ignore all the medical chat as it’s the closest pub to the John Radcliffe hospital so inevitably it’s a magnet for all of those wonderful people who work there

Such a well run, attentive pub with a good selection of ales and tasty, if basic (but that's okay) food. Well trained staff who communicate with you!!

The staff member was very friendly and welcoming. However I ordered the ham, eggs and chips with beans. By the time I removed all fat off the ham there wasn't much left to work with. It was also fridge cold together with the beans and Luke warm chips. Unfortunately the sunny side up egg was hard and over cooked. The venue appears to be clean and tidy just so cold. I had no problem parking directly outside the front door for a week day lunchtime trade. I think this would be a good place to visit in the summer when the evenings are brighter and warmer.

Nice atmosphere, and great service. Lots of choices on draft, and the mulled wine was delicious. But the food was wanting and overpriced. These are just frozen Pieminister pies, you can buy them from most grocery stores for £4. Add some peas and mashed potato and this pub charges £15.95. The burger patty fell apart, it was basically just mince, the fish fingers on the bap were frozen, processed, generic ones, and everything was a little salty. It’s a nice pub for a drink, but we probably won’t be back for dinner.

Nice and cosy pub with sunny garden at the back

Visited this lovely pub for lunch in the garden during the warm summer weather. Heard that they do an amazing variety of pies so decided to return with a friend to try them. We had booked a table, and so we arrived on time, 7pm. Friendly service, and a very short wait for the food. Both my friend and I chose pies, one with salad and the other with fries and vegetables. I had thought that the pies were all home made but I have to confess that I had a similar pie in another chain pub so I suspect it had been bought in. It was ok, nothing special. The ambience was good, the staff friendly, and there was parking almost outside when we arrived so easy to access. I will return but maybe will choose something else next time as the pie offering was underwhelming.

Booked ahead for a Sunday roast. We were served very quickly and the roast was delicious! Very reasonably priced too

We held our son's first birthday at the White Hart after a blessing ceremony at St. Andrew's church and it was a great experience. Lucy and the rest of the staff were great, ensuring that we had all we needed throughout the day and giving us a big space for our guests to mingle. Could not recommend it enough for any event! Thank you Lucy, and the rest of the White Hart staff for a great day!

Popped in for a quick pint and drink for friends and family very well presented store garden was lovely as usual and was served by edell very happy lively polite and warm welcoming and a later conversation with this member of the team highly recommend going in and enjoying the bar garden food looks great too and have ordered and enjoyed many times.

My local, there are many other around but here offer the real family vibe with great staff, food and even a quiz night. 🙌

We had to wait a long time which was tricky with a Mother with dementia, but the atmosphere and friendliness of the pub kept my Mother entertained. I have eaten Sunday lunches across the UK but this is a stand out Sunday lunch. Wonderful tender meat, no pretend roast potatoes but real and fully roasted and with a range of vegetables that really tasted. All with a deep gravy and a welcoming local pub atmosphere-heaven!!!!!!!!!!!!! Only downside apart from the wait is parking when someone is old and the cobbles are confusing and can cause stress to someone with dementia. But all in all a difficult lunch to beat in quality. My new firm favourite.

We took my mother there for lunch and I have to say hands down I had the best burger I have had in years. Excellent food and you would be hard pressed to beat the service we received. I can't recommend this place highly enough. Thank you.

The pub has a really good selection of beer, from a evershed brewery (Leicestershire). The food is good, the extra star is for the gluten free choice and the lovely walles hard at back. We each had pie, one bread n oil, one pate, 3.5 pints. Total 64 gbp. Plenty of food.

I fly across the pond for the pâté and the pints, mainly the cider to be honest, at the White Hart. Every six weeks. My favourite waitress is Kacie - she’s amazing. I’d come back to the White Hart just for her ability to tailor my order to my exact specifications. The White Hart is not only a local favourite but also a favourite amongst all of those in Oxfordshire. I highly recommend passing by on your way into the city centre to view the beautiful Oxford University building. Little known, their dishes and pints are made with love. PS they also do ‘Pints and Pate’ every Wednesday so I recommend going then

We have been here four times twice with a lady of over a hundred who couldn't bear slow service .Service just as slow this time. Also the parking was problematic with no disabled spot so grandma didn't have to walk far. It was my first visit with other relatives . The food was pub standard not what other reviewers go mad about. The pies were certainly not award winning. When such a claim is made the award should be mentioned specifically My ten year old grandson thought the ribs were a bit dry. We thought his peas were out of a tin. My wife's bread roll was hard and dry. What redeems the pub is its location in Headington. St Andrew's church opposite is a gem of an English church and one your way to the pub you will pass the house where Sir Isaiah Berlin lived. There some attractive lanes just by his house

Wanted a shady spot outside to have some much needed food - this place was perfect. Big portions, timely, very friendly staff and exactly what was needed.

Happy, attentive staff always a bonus. We went on a Monday evening and ate outside which was beautiful but we were disappointed withthe food very mediocre but overall a good night.

Beautiful pub, lovely garden & amazing food. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Myself & my wife had a Sunday roast & it was amazing, the best roast potatoes ever! My wife’s roast was vegetarian with nut roast cutlet & she loved it. Highly recommend this place for a drink or fir food, lovely location, simply amazing!

We arranged a company garden party for a very large group at the White Hart this evening and it proved to be a truly superb event! The garden was looking spectacular and the food buffet prepared by the pub was quite fantastic, with tasty dishes and large portions ! The staff were all very attentive, with a special thanks to Adele and the landlords for their excellent care and service. We will certainly be back soon and look forward to it!

Food and beer is good. Garden is nice. However, we got stung for a poorly undocumented "large group surcharge" on the food when we were there (over 5 people I think) ("It's so annoying that you brought all these people to our pub to spend money, we have to charge you more...") so we will not be returning.

Love this pub. Delicious pies, lovely garden, good service. Would be nice to see some variation on the taps / some more pale ales, but what they have does the job. And I enjoyed the beer(/ale/cider?) festival back in May too!

I'm not sure if this place counts as a 'hidden gem', but if so, it is the shiniest! Easily the most beautiful and pleasant pub garden I have visited in Oxford, lovely staff and service, and a nice selection of different beers to choose from. Can't recommend it enough.
