What a lovely find in Lymington - probably one of our best meals in the last few years and we enjoy eating out alot. We found this via the Michelin guide and made a day trip of it to visit this charming restaurant by the marina walking street. We chose to have an early lunch with their 7 course tasting menu. Our particular menu had a seafood focus to it and my goodness was it a treat. We had oyster dressed in honey and jalapeño, delicate crab with asparagus veloutĂ© and poached quail egg, skate cheeks with the most lovely langoustine sauce and lobster cassoulet! As the courses kept coming, we were delighted with different flavour combinations. The best, well - perhaps second best because the crab dish really stole the show - was the main dessert which was a sabayon with an indulgent chocolate mousse drizzled with the most perfect South African olive oil - the combination was nutty and rich and each time you inhaled, you got the lovely olive oil aroma dancing with the sabayon - such a surprisingly lovely combination that just makes you shake your head in wonder. Service was professional and attentive with a full understanding of each dish and detail. The accompanying wine flight was also the perfect compliment to the tasting menu - not trying to stand out but instead meanders with you on chefâs culinary journey. We drove from London and will do so again in a heartbeat to come back. The tasting menu is innovative and interesting, but not so wacky that you donât recognise your meal. Prices are not cheap but certainly not over the top for the quality of the ingredients, experience and skill of the chefâs team and impeccable service. Lunch is a good time to visit as its not as busy as dinner (which they are often fully booked) and allows you time to enjoy the experience and still have a nice walk afterwards. Note: bring cash as service is not added to the credit card bill and can only be paid separately - nearest cash machine is at Tesco about 8 mins away so good to sort this out beforehand. Parking is available in the lots at the marina (if its busy, wait a few mins as people seem to come and go). Dress code I would say is comfortable and neat. The ambiance of the restaurant is calm and charming with a few little whimsical features that make you smile - we sat next to a metal angler fish lamp! But the team here really pulls it all together, - so welcoming, knowledgable and passionate about their food and wine. Such a lovely find and we will be back again soon!

Always a treat to have to have an evening here and never disapppoints, which is why I keep going back. Peter's food is delicious and beautifully presented and Nicola and her front of house team always give a very warm welcome and excellent service. This restaurant has been in business for many years and there's a very good obvious reason for that .Would highly recommend

Walked to the âFish â wearing new shoes ⊠welcomed in and served with delicious food and wine supported by excellent service . Whilst there are cheaper places to eat I would argue the standard of food represents good value. A lovely evening I would highly recommend a visit. Oh and the landlord supplied plasters for my blisters !

We don't often stay in pubs but pleased we did this time, great location, almost opposite the station and close to harbour, shops and restaurants. Our room was a good size and decor was good, toiletries were good quality and paraben free. Bed was comfortable although we found the quilt a little heavy. Breakfast was very good, served by a very cheerful and welcoming Kayleigh each morning. All of the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. We asked for an iron but didn't get it, mentioned to Kayleigh on last morning and said we should have asked her. Would definitely stay again if in the area

Lunch with an old friend yesterday was excellent. The menu was short but had good choices and the dishes we chose were very good if not excellent. The service was heplful, attentive and polite witouth being intrusive. The price for a our lunches was reasonable. Altogether a most successful and satisfying lunch.

Terrible experience. We arrived at 8:00 pm and weâre looking forward to a meal as the place looked fab and we had just arrived on holiday. However on arrival at the bar when we asked for a menu the guy behind the bar said â weâre not doing food now!â To which I replied â but the board outside said you serve food until 9:00!â. He replied â well weâve been busy today !â A you believe it !!!!!!!! I was at a loss for words but what I should have said is â surely with the board outside advertising food until 9:00, surely thatâs breaking trade descriptions. Appalling attitude !

This pub has always been a favourite of ours, this weekend it showed its tired side. Staff runoff their feet so werenât welcoming or at all happy. The paint work/ cleanliness etc is so tired and dirty itâs actually quite shocking. How it hasnât had a redecorate ready for a busy High summer season ahead baffles me. The ladies toilets are disgusting, the place needs a really good deep clean and freshen up. Such a shame it used to be a very nice pub in the quay.
