Terrible experience. We arrived at 8:00 pm and we’re looking forward to a meal as the place looked fab and we had just arrived on holiday. However on arrival at the bar when we asked for a menu the guy behind the bar said “ we’re not doing food now!” To which I replied “ but the board outside said you serve food until 9:00!”. He replied “ well we’ve been busy today !” A you believe it !!!!!!!! I was at a loss for words but what I should have said is “ surely with the board outside advertising food until 9:00, surely that’s breaking trade descriptions. Appalling attitude !

Looking forward to our first visit under the new landlord… called in at 7.30 on a Sunday; didn’t finish our drinks left after 15 minutes. The place is a dump and needs a good clean and tidy up . The worst aspect was the group at the bar using obscene language at the top of their voices. I’m no prude and understand you will hear bad language from time to time but this was ridiculous. Perhaps this iconic Lymington pub will eventually get the landlord or landlady it deserves.

Beware if you visit with a dog, the owners St Bernard will likely not like yours as we just found out, finished our drinks quickly and left. Not what you expect from your local pub.

Had a wonderful Sunday lunch here, roast beef with all the trimmings it was delicious. It’s a large and comfortable pub with a lovely outside seating area. A good range of interesting real ales too, highly recommend Ringwood 49er. Staff are friendly and professional too. Thank you.

Staff really make you feel welcome and it really is doggy friendly. They even offered to cook another piece of gammon because one of my dogs was eating most of mine ! Brilliant food every time. Will be hoping to eat here every day this week on our new forest holiday

My partner and I went just for drinks today as just one refreshment stop on a beautiful cycle ride around Lymington and were delighted to find the lovely garden looking welcoming, some live entertainment (a delightful Irish singer with a great sense of humour). We were welcomed and offered food menus and even though we only wanted drinks on this occasion were made to feel very welcome and encouraged to come back another time. Overall a lovely friendly and welcoming service. Although this time our visit was brief would have loved to have eaten there had we not eaten already and will definitely be back soon.

Went for lunch today after the splash session at the sea baths in Lymington. The food and service is excellent. Home made nachos with chilli to start was fantastic. Then I had chicken and bacon salad, my husband a steak and my daughter a burger. It was absolutely delicious. Best meal by fat. Will definitely be back for Sunday Roast!

I’m not from around the lymington area but came down from Dorset with my work friend and I was appalled at the service. I mean for starters I heard some of the workers talking about class A drugs, one looked like a manager. I brushed it off Then as the night progressed It seemed like a few of the staff were actually on drugs theirselves. I then had some food after a couple of drinks and the chefs looked completely unprofessional and rather dirty if I’m being completely honest (again looked under the influence) I therefore did not want to finish my meal. There was lots of drug talk among the staff and it’s put me off of my food and drinks to be quite honest. I will NOT be coming back and quite frankly I would like a refund of all the money I spent in this absolute poor excuse of a pub. 0/10 😡

We had a wonderful Sunday roast lunch here- fresh tasty food and so welcoming for dogs- bowls of water, tasty treats and off cuts of turkey were all provided for our dog. Friendly staff too- thanks so much.

We booked here for dinner on Saturday evening, due to it being dog friendly - which it truly is. Our waiter brought a bowl of water and a bowl of dog biscuits to the table, along with our drinks. 🐶 Great menu with a big enough choice of food. When it arrived, our food was piping hot and if excellent quality. Proper food and not at all pretentious. Despite being full from our mains, we had pudding (obviously!). Hubby tells me it was the best ice cream he's had! Staff were friendly, but unobtrusive. Would highly recommend.

The White Hart had only reopened 4 days when we had lunch there. Outside eating only. A couple of the waiters were running around a little like headless chicken trying to adapt to the new way of doing things. One great waiter stood out from Dublin, very attentive, chatty and got things done. Fish goujon sandwich needed a little seasoning or something in its batter. Very good G&T there.

Great food and ambience. Excellent chips and proper scampi. Diner tried the veggie tart and decided not to have it again. Great beer as well. We ate indoors but the garden is very attractive, quieter at the back as protected from traffic. They have recently installed new log planters which help define the outdoor dining area and are looking superb.

Visited in August after shielding and gave a 5 star review due to good food, good service in a Covid secure environment, glad to say on our recent visit standards of hygiene are still very high , food and ale delicious . Booking advisable ...a great pub.

Visited the pub, the day before planned meal, given a menu and told they would look forward to see us but on the night we were informed they only had seating outside as all the inside seating had been booked! It was about 7pm and we did not want to eat in the cold & dark. The pub was virtually empty, the barman was downright unhelpful.Total lack of information and a total waste of our time. My exsperince1/ Had a good BLT and decided to take my family for a meal. Pies grisly,very small pieace of chicken, but tasty. Manager offered me my money back, l said just let it go and l declined.2/ Went for another BLT and chips. Chips came after the BLT had been eaten. In the afternoon had a phone call saying we had left without paying.This wasn't the case and if you make a acusation like that you have to be 100% correct (wife uoset)They did offer me a free meal. Went to book the meal, started my phone to the pub at 11.30 and it continually said the phone box was full.,finally bot through 18.00 ish. l as a manger would think the first job on my daily list would be to check phonecalls and booking ???. The White Hart has an excellent accessible beer garden for wheelchair users. Although this was a small walk from our Holiday Accommodation it was worth the trip. The drinks were brought to our tables by the friendliest of staff and it was a very pleasant place to sit in the sunshine. The drinks were expensive, but bearing in mind that other hostelries weren't disabled friendly and not accessible due to COVID-19 restrictions, this was heaven and we didn't mind the extra expense. After all we were on Holiday. Staff at the White Hart should be commended for their brilliant service to disabled customers. Service does seem to have improved with the COVID-19 restrictions.

Dived in for lunch as was mega hot on our walk back from Lymington. Lovely pub, food amazing and staff great. Coming back for dinner tonight as camping down road !

This place was 5 mins from our Airbnb and it has a great beer garden. We went for drinks one evening and came back for dinner the next night. The burgers were good quality and decent value.

Pre-booked a table here for 4 & a well behaved dog and shown to a lovely table for 6 in quite a private position.We ordered Cajun chicken salad in a tortilla bowl, steak & ale pie, a steak burger with blue cheese and sweet potato fries and Chicken New Yorker from the grill.All were delicious and filling. I'd requested the bacon & cheese on the New Yorker be really well cooked and they were spot on. The chips were perfect and all 4 of us enthused over our meal.The staff all wore masks and were very friendly and helpful. The toilets were clean and the Covid19 rules and regulations were adhered too.A delicious meal which we all agreed we'd happily order again in a lovely old worlde style pub with great staff.Strongly recommend

Carvery was ok as we ate early. A choice of large or small is a very good idea.The dining tables are basic could do with a good clean and refurb.Very very popular with large family groups therefore as restaurant filled up very noisy. I have met clients and attended small networking groups at the White Hart as well as just gone for lunch. It's a lovely welcoming pub, quiet at the times I visited but there is always a few people in. Staff are friendly and there's a lovely dog who wanders around overseeing things! She doesn't interact with you unless you invite her too so no bother - but gorgeous and friendly if you choose to say hello.

We visited just after New Year on a quiet evening. A good selection on the menu and all of rhe food arrived quickly. Burgers, scampi and pie all hit the spot for our family group. The only disappointment was the lack of a disabled toilet, poor for 2020.

We visited this pub while camping just down the road, after a very cold day attempting to pitch a tent in the wind and rain this place was just what we needed! Lovely and cosy, we sat next to the open fire, it's dog friendly which I always find makes a place feel more cosy and welcoming, and the food was great! Staff were friendly and attentive. Good vegetarian food available too, I had the battered halloumi, peppers and courgettes and I was very pleasantly surprised by the size of it when it came out! No complaints whatsoever!

Have eaten here on a Sunday several times and have always been extremely happy with the quality of the roast meats (usually beef,turkey and gammon). The veg are usually good too but are sometimes a bit on the cold side. Service is excellent, very friendly and efficient and children are made very welcome with a very good garden with large wooden climbing frame.

Saw that there were new owners so when passing decided to pop in for lunch. Fantastic menu with lots of choice. We had the fish finger sandwich which was undoubtedly the best we had ever had. Freshly made fish goujons with chunks of lettuce and tartare sauce in warm ciabatta. It came with a side salad and fries. We will definitely be going back for an evening meal. Very friendly and professional staff.

The meat was really tender but the vegetables were raw. I'm a chef of 25 years and the cauliflower cheese was not aldanti it was raw the cheese sauce see more mustard than cheese and was really runny the gravy was more like dirty dish water with no taste what so ever. A child could have made better gravy.

Lovely place , great staff, great food. Not only do the owners ensure a good pub on a day to day basis but try hard with extra events throughout the year ; the recent Paws in The Pub dog show was great fun.

Booked for a family meal and checked the website to see if there were any events on because we wanted a quiet meal where we could talk. There was nothing listed but when we got there a band was warming up. We asked the waitress if there was a different table as we were right by the band and said we had checked if there were any events. Had the rudest response I've had in a long time: 'we don't have any other tables -there's a beer festival on and it's all over the site'. Even if it was on the website that's an unacceptable way to speak to a customer.

I visited here with my husband and 2 teenagers and we found a very friendly welcome, varied menu, good service and lovely food. The fish goujon burger was very nice and the risotto delicious. Lovely setting and we will definitely return in the future.

We went for a family meal for my 60th 8adults and 5 grandchildren, the service was good ,the food was lovely and hot and the staff were friendly helpful and they work hard there and the prices are reasonable, it was that nice 3 of us went back for a meal on Wednesday,wouldn’t hesitate to go back again.

Visited the restaurant today for a family meal. Food is excellent. Service was ok. Slow to come to table so ended up going to the bar and was told that I could order there. At one point asked for vinegar but gave me a bottle with only a small bit in it and the locals at the bar made a big joke of it. Had I been serving I would have bought another bottle over. Despite noticing the waitress did not do this which was odd. Locals at the bar were very loud and to be honest I wished we had sat round the corner as there topic of discussion was offensive which was a shame. But to be fair the bar man did alert them to us sitting there. Great food, ok service, but sit in the restaurant if you can.

Nice looking pub both inside and out with a large car park and rear garden full of the usual wooden picnic tables. A TA "Excellent" sticker on the pub door was a good sign.

We had a carvery Sunday lunch after a weekend camping, nice big garden, carvery was ok, some of the other meals ordered not up to scratch, one of our party complained about 2 dishes they had out of 4.

We decided to choose the White Hart to eat on our last evening of a two night break in the New Forest with our two dogs. Now a lot of pubs are dog friendly but our two dogs are Greek rescues and this was the first time they had been in a pub, let alone somewhere which was not at home. The pub wasn’t busy it was around 6-6.30pm ish and it had been a lovely day so people were also outside in the garden. We decided to sit inside and the dogs settled in well. The floor is wooden so we got a blanket which are near the door for dogs to have if outside. There was also water for them inside the door (although we’d bought our own). Once we’d chosen a table which was to the right of the bar with a sofa the dogs lay down and let us enjoy our drinks and food. We picked the Chicken New Yorker and some garlic bread to share with the hope that we’d get around to desert as well. The chips were amazing, neither of us could eat them all - so desert unfortunately went out the window. All the staff were so friendly to us and our dogs, there was even treats on the bar for them to have. We met some lovely locals who made a right fuss of the dogs which they enjoyed and we’d def. go back again if visit the New Forest again.

Found this excellent pub suitable for family with young children. The food was excellent and the staff so courteous and friendly. Food so fresh and loads to choose off the menu! Excellent value for money. The 2 in-house dogs are too lovely!!!!
